The Granary

This is the third time we have stayed in The Granary.

It's an old farmhouse on a working farm, so occasional flies and slight damp are expected. The furniture and beds are of very high quality and parts of the house has been redecorated which is great. The removal of the decking replaced with patio is perfect and the addition of a clothes line was really useful. The hot tub was well used and loved. If I were to suggest any improvement it would be to add a few hooks inside the airing cupboard to help dry the multiple towels we used!

Our stay at the granary cottage was very pleasant, cottage was very clean very comfortable, directions was very accurate I put the name of the property with post code with Waze and it took me straight to the cottage I will definitely be using Sykes again next year

The cottage looks lovely from the outside.

Its till you enter you see the issues. As you enter there is a smell of damp and dog urine. We could not get rid of the smell. The cottage needs some TLC. The cleanliness needs improving. Not to a very good standard. Hot tub was great and a good addition. Would I recommend? Prob not unless things improved massively.

Great hidden location, peaceful and private, ideal base for a trip to the area with Saundersfoot literally a 5 minute drive and Tenby only 10 minutes.

The Granary was very clean and well presented, great facilities and the hot tub was the icing on the cake after a long day walking and exploring the area. I'd highly recommend this property.

The Granary is perfectly located if you enjoy the quiet of the countryside, but want to be close to all the beaches and walks.

We loved our stay and felt very safe and comfortable.

My mum who is elderly needed a holiday as she’s been through so much.

So we hunted for a place to go that would be suitable for her. It was perfect she absolutely loved the place and said she could stay there longer. It was a perfect place the hot tub was a bonus and definitely a winner. The space in the cottage was so spacious and the beds were so comfortable. We all absolutely loved it there and would definitely return if we had the chance. We were greeted with milk , Welsh cakes and fresh eggs which was lovely. All bedding towels etc was provided. Even games in the cupboard too. Thank you so much !!

Lovely old property that has been modernised throughout.

It's not perfect, there is some damp, but that is generally dealt with by having dehumidifier tubs throughout. There are flies, but that is to be expected in the hot summer months on a working farm with cows and chickens. The beds are all very comfortable and the kitchen is well kitted out, I just feel that previous holiday makers had just thrown things in the cupboards rather than put things back where they found them. The property is in a quiet location, but extremely convenient for Amroth, Saunderfoot, Tenby etc. all great beaches. The hot-tub is an excellent addition to the property. If you compare other holiday homes with hot-tubs with this one, it is excellent value for money. We will be back

Lovely place from the outside, when inside was greeted with with lots of flys and the smell of cat urine.

Grease up the walls in Kitchen, there was Damp in most of the rooms, the cleaniness couldhave been a lot better. The rooms were good sizes and but a lot of wasted space on landing. The Hot tub was Great and warm. The heating in front room was nice and toasty, and quiet area.

If you are looking to stay in comfortable, clean accommodation then this is not the place for you.

We have endured a week here, in a property full of damp, mould in the pictures, wallpaper peeling off due to damp, dirty windows, mould and scum in the bathroom and shower room, broken glassware, dirty oven, dirty vacuum, broom and mop stored in the kitchen next to the dining table, rusty lightshade above the dining table, debris from a previous occupant under both sofas. We spoke to the owner who came down and blamed his daughter and acted surprised. He arranged for the cleaning team to come in the next day (not what we want on our holiday) who arrived, oooed and aahhed and also acted surprised even though they admitted this was one of their usual properties to clean. They vacuumed under one sofa and left. The debris remained there after we had left so check if you do book. This was supposed to be a break for me to recover from cancer treatment but I spent most of the time worrying about the effects the place was having on my disabled daughter who suffers from asthma and my elderly parent. Having contacted Sykes to change for my money back they are not interested. I am now left to take legal advice and publish my feedback on social media in the hope that nobody else hands over money expecting a relaxing break.

We stopped here for our honeymoon on the 23rd may for a week.

I can’t say we had a great stay I understand that the house is pet friendly but it absolutely stunk in the kitchen the place you eat and cook of dog urine. There were black dog hairs all in the kitchen, living room and hall way, washing machine and even some in the hot tub. I have a dog myself so I’m not being funny but when you pay nearly £1300 to stop someone you don’t expect to be smelling dog wee the whole time we even went to savers in Tenby to by some zoflora to rewash the floors. The bath upstairs was blocked we had to pull the plug hole out and it was full of grime and hair (no our job to do). The paper in the lounge was peeling off which was no biggy really. The decking I think is abit unsafe as it rotten. There wasn’t enough plates and dishes for a family of 6 which we was. Just one wine glass. Pots and pan wasn’t the best we went to Morrisons and brought some frying pans and took them back home with us. I just feel if your paying all that money and even more probably in high season then maybe owners need go in and update things and add to things. A dog off the farm come in the garden and pooed on there. Nowere really in 2 single bedrooms to put clothes only a chest of draws which is no good when 4 adults are stopping there for a week. Overall been as it was our honeymoon and we wanted something a little special it was ruined really. The cottage was really big in size beds was all clean and comfy but all the other stuff just ruined it for us and we not just talking a few hundred pound we paid it was a lot of money. So unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this place and as for Sykes I emailed them when we got back and they said we should have said something while there probaly just a way to get out of giving us any refund. But if the shoe was on the other foot and we left it in a bad way we would have to pay but yet it wasn’t left clean for us. We won’t book with them again.

Beautiful property with a large private hot tub.

Great size rooms. Beautiful picturesque location and great facilities throughout the property. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again. Only points to mention. Lounge requires some maintenance as wallpaper peeling away from walls and for the size of the room, you'd expect a larger tv. Other than that, absolutely over the moon with our stay at the granary. LOCATION PROS: The location was perfect and easy to find.

It was close to main attractions and beaches yet far enough away for a peaceful break should you want to stay in. CONS: None. OUTSIDE the accomodation: PROS: The garden is a good size and loved the hot tub. It has its own gated parking area which was also a great addition. CONS: Not due to owners fault, there's a tree that over hung the car when parked on the drive which dropped a lot of sap which attracted wasps. We couldn't see a nest anywhere but suspect there may of been one somewhere with the amount wasps on the car each day. INSIDE the accommodation: PROS: The building is an ample size for the number of guests it can hold. Free WiFi provided. Kitchen - It had plenty of appliances, cooking equipment, cutlery and cleaning equipment to use during our stay. If you can think of it they pretty much have it. Loved the welcome pack of eggs and welsh cakes. Living room - Tv was a good size and had free view and Netflix app. If you have children there were a couple boardgames and there were a few books and magazines to read for adults. The fire place heater was great for the colder mornings. Bedrooms - The beds were comfortable and theres plenty of room in the bedrooms for your clothes etc. Each room had a bath towel and small towel for each guest. Bathrooms - Hand soap, hand towels and a toilet roll were provided in each bathroom. CONS: There was a lot of damp in the building. As soon as you open the front door you can smell it. There was damp/mold around almost every window in the building. Floor moves upstairs... not sure if some boards need replacing. WiFi was very slow, wasn't the best if watching Netflix and needed to do something on your phone at the same time. Kitchen - Bugs in the wicker table mats. Some of the cooking pots/pans could do with replacing. Door missing off the front of the dishwasher. Tumbledryer very loud, possibly a bearing on its way out?? Living room - Very moldy and damp. Black mold on the one wall and wall paper peeling off. Living room rug smelt, could do with replacing or washing. We didn't like to let our little one play on the floor due to the smell and the fact the room was so damp. Pictures hanging on the walls were moldy. Sofas did the job but were very uncomfortable. Bedrooms - We removed the pillow case on one of the pillows in the main room and found the pillow was moldy. Not sure about the other pillows and rooms. Mold/damp around windows. Dust on headboard. Had to move one of the beds in the smaller rooms to fit our travel cot in and the floor under the bed was covered in debris, could of done with a quick hoover. Bathrooms - downstairs bathroom smelt we only used once or twice due to the smell. Upstairs one was good but the bath doesn't drain well, it fills whilst having a shower. Suspect the plugs blocked. This accommodation has great potential but in our opinion does need some work.

This was a great holiday accommodation in a very quiet location.

The cottage was very spacious and well equipped. The beaches of Saundersfoot and Tenby are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this holiday accommodation and hope to visit again myself.

With easy access to many places. The people were very friendly and the fresh eggs were great. Bridget recommended a fabulous pub for Sunday lunch food was great and service was excellent. Then she told us about the lily ponds near by, well we would call them large lakes. Bet they make a fantastic show when in bloom. Shame there was no comments book, to leave a small review, or to be able to read others findings. Great holiday, especially enjoyed the hot tub after long days out. An amazing stay from start to finish , home from home , lovely bright kitchen, cosy front room , TV with netflix & all essential , ordered Chinese which was really nice.

Comfy beds , lovely enclosed garden with the best hot tub, plenty of places to visit, which we did through the day , then chilled in the evenings, what more can I say , we all enjoyed & will definitely return .

On the whole we had a lovely stay, shame about the weather but can’t blame the property owner for that!

The cottage is spacious and well equipped. Great for the dog with the enclosed front garden. Our only negatives would be the head on the shower upstairs was only half functioning so we used the shower downstairs but the cubicle is quite small. The key code should be updated on the arrival instructions as we had to contact the owner when we arrived for the corrected code.
