We loved all the different rooms and there was so much space for everyone. Star gazing is a must from the beautiful garden on a clear night. We would definitely recommend. The teenagers and adults all enjoyed playing pool and the hot tub. Some table tennis was also enjoyed in between the rain and frost. The Pheasantry is a very comfortable spacious house with just about all the modcons you could possibly need. The hot tub and pool room were a big hit all round as were the games in the dining room and the swing in the well maintained large garden, which is a haven for various birds, bats, rabbits and other wildlife. (Yes, we did see a couple of pheasants, too!) The bedrooms are bright and airy with big comfy beds. The en-suites and family bathroom were very user friendly. The kitchen area is really the hub of the home here. It is very well stocked right down to the quirky egg cups! Our normally anxious dog also settled very quickly and didnt want to leave! Great location, great house, great holiday.

We had 9 people in our party plus a dog and found everything at the property to entertain our family and friends whose ages ranged from 12 years to 70 years. The property was very comfortable and a perfect size for our party. We were left not wanting for anything as the property was well provisioned. The gardens were impressive and the seating areas perfectly placed. The hot tub was the icing on the cake for all ages as was the outdoor tennis table. We would all highly recommend. If we were being picky it would be good to have a traffic mirror on the opposite side of the entrance drive to enable a more comfortable right turn or the hedges either side trimmed back to enable better visibility of oncoming traffic. Our deposit was also returned super quickly on the day we returned.

Very well equipped and a nice cake and bread was there for our arrival after a long journey. The pool table was a hit with the kids as was the hot tub. The house is more spacious than the description and photos suggest and was perfect for our large group. Fantastic base to explore Wales so nobody wanted to come home. The communication from the owner was great so we can not fault this property in any way. Only advisory, the property is nicely secluded but the road does not have a path for about 100m so be careful if you have small kids. However, the road was not too busy so not a big issue.

  • "The cottage was absolutely perfect."

Lovely garden with lots of nature. There was enough things in the cottage to keep everyone entertained throughout, like the ping pong table, pool table, piano, board games, hot tub and tree swing. We also loved the cake, dessert treats, eggs, bread, tea and coffee, and milk, as well as firewood that the owners gave us. We loved how easy check in and check out was, and how we were left to enjoy the cottage without interference from anyone. And the WiFi was really good. The fridge and freezer were a great size. Although we really enjoyed our stay, there are just a couple of things that I think it would be good for the owners to take on board. Firstly, it would be great if the kitchen was slightly better stocked, e.g. By having more pint glasses, more small oven dishes, cooking tongs etc. Secondly, it would have been great if we had slightly more kitchen roll, toilet paper and dishwasher tablets. Lastly, we don't feel it's necessary to ask for a £500 security bond before our stay. You have our card on file so you could just charge us if anything was broken. But our bond was returned on the same day as check out which was good. Overall a really pleasant stay and we hope to come back soon

The owners were very helpful before arriving and happy to answer any questions with quick responses. The cottage is just outside of Builth Wells but easily accessible via car or walking as we walked into town a few times during our stay by the main road. The cottage has more rooms than you actually need and is perfect for larger groups if people want to have large scale games in the dining room together or split off into smaller groups in the board game room, snug, pool and piano room and the upstairs sitting room. The garden/grounds that go all the way around the cottage are amazing and made everything look wonderful as you go for a wander outside, plus the table tennis table, hot tub and tree swing definitely help. Also another big plus is how secluded the cottage is and gives plenty of privacy. It is spotlessly clean, the beds (and pillows) very comfortable and the bathrooms gorgeous. The owner and housekeeper were very quick to answer any queries. We stayed over Christmas, there was a lovely Christmas tree and some unexpected goodies, which made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was serviced every day so we were confident that the water was clean and safe. The weather was very wet, which meant that we couldn't enjoy the garden and table tennis table as we had planned, but the house was warm and cosy to return to after wet and muddy walks. My only suggestion for improvement would be a doormat into the boot room - we mopped the floor daily and cut up a cardboard box for wet dogs and children to stand on when we came through the door! For an evening full of fun, head down the stairs and into the games room; participate in a family-fun game of pool or let the musician of the group show off their skills on the piano before retreating to the open-plan living/dining space for a delicious dining experience.

Combining a kitchen, dining area, and sitting area in one, the open-plan space is a wonderfully sociable area, so you can all sit together to enjoy your favourite meals when you’re not exploring the local eateries.

The property also offers a separate room with a fireplace, a large table and a house-keepers cupboard full of board games and puzzles so you can while away the time in the winter evenings or on a rainy day!

And while others are busy with the games you might choose to take a seat in the snug with a glass of wine and a good book.

The outsize TV in the snug is also ideal for a pile of children to watch their favourite film.

Outside there is a large woodland garden perfect for your canine companions to stretch their legs.

And should your dog need a wash, don’t worry because in the boot room there is a dog bath with towels provided.

The garden has beautiful views over the surrounding countryside and an abundance of wildlife with hedgehogs and woodpeckers being frequent visitors.

It is planted with a variety of trees, shrubs and perennials: daffodils, snowdrops, crocuses, fritillaries, ornamental cherries, crab apples, plum and pear trees and Japanese maples to name but a few.

There is a huge oak tree with a swing beneath and up on the yard by the stables.

There is a fire pit and a table tennis table alongside a large circular table and chairs for outdoor dining.

From the house there are some steps leading to a cobbled circle with a jacuzzi.

This property guarantees hours of family-fun from its interior to its exterior.
