All in all the property was fantastic for a vacation, no negatives, we were a little concerned as pre warned about the neighbours dog , but there were no issues what so ever (thankfully) the place was very well equipped but i would recommend easier to handle knives and forks especially for children , for us the location was perfect for the beach as we and dogs love to walk the coast line so thank-you to kath and to sykes

Thanks for the lovely review. Next door have a small dog who sometimes gets a little excited when dogs stay in the property but we have never had any issues. Glad you enjoyed the dog friendly beach which is less than 2 minutes away Property Owner

  • "We had the most lovely stay at Mariners Quay."

We used the house as a base to explore the wider area and it was perfect for this. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for ourselves, our children and our dog. There were lots of thoughtful touches like spare beach/dog towels available if you had forgotten your own. The 2 minute walk to the, dog friendly, little beach was great. And there is a children's splash park, just a short way along the front. We had days out in Cardiff, Gower and Tenby amongst other places. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Thanks for your lovely review and so pleased you had a great time Property Owner

It was clean, comfortable, home from home. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need with games for wet days. Just a short walk from the beautiful sandy beaches and places to eat. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends.

So glad you had a great time xx Property Owner

  • "This is one of the nicest holiday homes we have ever stayed in."

Really well equipped, lovely and clean and comfortable and lots of thoughtful touches which were much appreciated. The house itself is in a great location, and it was such a treat to walk along the Aberavon Beach seafront every night. (We were exceptionally lucky with the weather the week we visited, so maybe it's not always so enjoyable!) This was a good base to explore a bit of South Wales and we visited Porthcawl, Mumbles and Margam Country Park while we were there. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Thanks for the lovely comments. So glad you enjoyed your stay x Property Owner

  • "Thank you for a fantastic week."

The property was perfect for us (with 2 dogs) as the garden had a high fence and hard floors! The attention to detail was very much appreciated and the house was spotless. And literally a minute away from the beach. As someone who was born and brought up here but now lives 200 miles away, I hope to keep coming back here!

  • "Great location very near to Aberavon beach and places further afield."

Friendly neighbours and locals. Great to have access to 2 places to park a car. A great place for our week long getaway in Wales. If I would improve anything I would mount the mirrors a little lower, even my 6 foot 2 brother in law found them a little high (apart from the one in the downstairs bathroom-which was fine). Providing beach towels was a great bonus (we forgot ours). Having lots of dog paraphernalia provided was also great. All in all, couldn't fault it. Might be back again next year.

Thanks for the lovely feedback and for leaving the house so clean and tidy. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back next year. I've noted you point on the mirrors and lowered them today! Property Owner

  • "We had a problem opening the key safe but the owner was with us in less than ten minutes to sort us out."

Which was excellent service. The cottage is a very short distance from the beach. Our little dog loved it. Only downside was no welcome pack. our last cottage in wales provided us with some Welsh cakes and milk so we could have a cuppa and a snack after our long journey. the property was lovely and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much

Thankyou for the great feedback. All the beds were purchased recently and are of a high specification so I am pleased you found them comfortable. Having an eclosed garden and being so close to both the main beach and a dog friendly beech is waht makes the house ideal for families with children and pets. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay."

Fabulous to have a fully enclosed garden so we knew the dogs were safe. The house is clean, tidy and seconds away from the beach, which is partly dog friendly year around. We enjoyed visiting Barry island as well as Swansea and the mumbles. The local pub called the Brit is worth a visit also.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. We have also recently added an outside light in the back garden as requested by another customer so you can see your dogs if they need to go out before bed. Property Owner

Only one shower which was a little difficult tbh as it is in main bedroom en suite ,,,other than that property was spotless well equipped and very comfy ,,beds were very comfortable linen and towels again first class really enjoyed our stay hope to return

Thanks for the lovely feedback. The housekeeper takes great pride in keeping it spotless. I have had a plumber in and it will be very difficult to add a shower to the main bathroom without a whole new bathroon suite, so for the moment we are restricted to one bathroom with a bath and a separate ensuite with a shower Property Owner

  • "First of all unable to get in cottage until 5."

30pm because as we found out two numbers were missing and we had travelled up from shrewsbury Second NO HOT WATER FOR WHOLE WEEK housekeeper came round with husband couldn't fix it owner rang plumber wasn't able to come until Friday no good to us to install a new boiler Why didn't the housekeeper check before we arrived seems odd I had to boil kettles not good for me let alone a 96 yr old NO SHOWERS we paid enough money disgusting also mirror fell off wall only stuck on with tape good job we were down stairs

I am so sorry you experienced issues on your recent stay. I’ve checked with Sykes and the correct key code was sent out to you, so I’m not sure why you had 2 digits missing on you printed copy. We were able to meet you at the property and get you in at 16.30, so just 30 minutes after the advertised entry time. You didn’t advise us of the issue with the hot water util the 4th day of your stay and unfortunately, we were not able to get a plumber out straight away to fix this. The housekeeper came down the same day and checked on the welfare of you and your Mum. We explained there were showers availiable at the local leisure centre 5 minutes away and gave you cash to pay to use these. Whilst not ideal you did graciously accept at the time that these things happen and said overall you loved the house and would book again. A new boiler has now been fitted so we look forward to proving a great experience for all future guests Property Owner
