  • "Very clean and the welcome set up was so lovely with a real effort made to include a magazine and treat for my daughter as well as bits for us."

Only issues really was very, very slow wifi and a high chair for little ones would have been helpful. The en-suite really smelt of damp which meant that we all used the main bathroom which was a shame but happens if other guests fail to ventilate properly. Apart from that it was a lovely cottage and super clean.

Detached and all on one level, with a very pretty landscaped enclosed rear garden offering great privacy. Plenty of parking space. Quite a lot of road noise over the busy bank hol weekend but other than that fine. One of the loveliest cottages we’ve stayed in. Immaculate, beautifully decorated and high quality furniture and furnishings. One gripe - poor WIFI! Other than that it’s really lovely with many thoughtful touches. Very special and would return

The welcoming tray was spectacular and there was even something for the dogs! The owners were on hand to make sure everything was OK and with a few suggestions of places to visit, but in no way were they intrusive. The cottage is well placed, with plenty of places to visit within a few miles. We were a bit apprehensive of reception we would get from local people due to Covid-19, but everyone was very friendly and helpful All in all, a perfect week away (even the weather was kind!)

Cottage was very well equipped and clean and comfortable. It did have a damp feel quite possibly due to it being unused due to the lockdown. Rhossili was a joy to run and walk and the cottage is well situated for this type of activity.

  • "We had a problem with the central heating as all the radiators went cold at 7."

30pm sent a text to the owner who came over after a few moments and she said its because the radiators were up to temperature as they had thermostatic valves. all the valves were set to 5 which is the highest they go the cottage was getting cold so it was not the valves, she had a look at the boiler which was not on despite it being on a timed programme and pressed a button to reset and the boiler restarted about 2 hours later we had to reset the boiler again ourselves and we had to keep doing this for the duration of the holiday sent the owner another text at 9.30am on Monday to say we have to keep resetting the boiler every 2 hours otherwise the radiators go off and the cottage goes cold, she came over again and said again its the thermostatic valves and that's how its set up despite the cottage being cold my mother who is 85 feels the cold could tell when the heating was going off and we had to keep an eye on the time to get ready to reset the boiler, there was a electric heater in the lounge so we had to put that on to get some heat in the lounge overall the cottage was nice and cosy just the heating was the problem

Thank you for your feedback, The Old Dairy has now been fitted with a new combination boiler. Property Owner

The welcome pack including homemade cakes and a bone for our dog were most appreciated. As it was our 25th wedding anniversery, my husband requested whether flowers could be arranged for our arrival and the owners kindly did so. This I thought was exceptional service. We had a most enjoyable week with Rhossili and Oxwich Bays just a short drive away and daily walks on the stunning coastline, helped by the fact we had 6 days in late October without any rain......unheard of ! We plan to return.Thank you

It was spotlessly clean and had everything you could want and more. The owners left a whole tray of home made cakes and bread on our arrival. They went out of their way to welcome the dog as well - there was a treat and towels to wipe muddy paws and the garden was carefully enclosed so dogs can be let out on their own. It was one of the most relaxing places we have stayed and would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely rear secure garden for our Darcey (Cockapoo) to investigate. Ideally situated to visit Rhoselli, Port Enyon and Oxwich Bay, which are all pet friendly beaches. Caroline and Huw have put a lot of work into making guests feel very comfortable, not to mention the scrumptious welcome tray for us humans as well as a treat for the pooch. I won't say what was on the tray as it would spoil the experience for further guests, let them have a lovely surprise! We certainly slept extremely well, must be a combination of the Welsh air, Welsh water and the extremely comfortable bed! The facilities in the cottage are second to none and we would definitely recommend it. We will hopefully be going back in the near future. Suzanne, Ray & Darcy

About the location

Swansea 14 miles; Rhossili 3.5 miles; Port Eynon 1.5 miles.

Scurlage is a small village, named after the family who built a fortified manor house, although none of the remains of ‘Scurlage Castle’ have survived. This little village is between the popular beachside villages of Rhossili and Port Eynon and is close to the fantastic beaches of the Gower Peninsula including Oxwich Bay. A perfect central location to be a short distance from fantastic coastline and the iconic Worms Head. The little village has various footpaths crisscrossing the area, a pub, shop, pharmacy, doctors surgery and take-away, but still retains its sleepy village personality.
