The Granary

Lovely cottage.

Really spacious for two people. Everything provided.

The Granary suited us very well.

It’s in a good location for travelling to the Gower’s lovely beaches. Comfortable, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The kitchen is small, but well thought-out to make the best use of the space. Very useful to have the en-suite WC as well as a good-sized bathroom. We enjoyed watching swallows flying in and out of the barn across the yard. Great homemade cakes in the welcome pack! We would recommend the cottage, and would happily stay there again.

A very welcoming holiday home.

Especially enjoyed super-comfortable bath! Fun objects d'art dotted around. Nice choice of books and games. Excellent communication overall. Staying in May, we were entertained by the busy house martins.

We enjoyed our weeks stay in this lovely comfortable well situated cottage.

A lovely base to explore the beautiful area around. Lovely walks and amazing views. Caroline greeted us on our arrival, there was also a well received welcome pack and some lovely home made cakes. Would recommend this cottage 100%.

The cottage and the owners are lovely.

A friendly greeting on arrival with lots of information about the area and some welcoming treats in the kitchen. The homemade cakes were delicious. The cottage itself was superb with everything you could possibly need and a good base for exploring The Gower. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Excellent cottage, wonderful welcome cakes and superb hosts.

Thank you so much .

Warm welcome from Huw (in person) and Caroline (in cakes).

The Granary is an excellent place to stay.

A well-equipped and comfortable cottage, ideally situated for exploring the Gower Peninsula.

The cottage was wonderful.

Very clean, cosy and comfortable. We enjoyed the peace and quiet in the area.

We both had a lovely stay at the Granary.

Huw and Caroline were very welcoming and very helpful. The cottage was spotless and very well equipped with everything that you would need. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. The location of the cottage was very central to places that you would want to visit. We would highly recommend the Granary. Jan & Rich

This was a beautifully presented cottage with everything we could possibly want.

very comfortable and easy parking. Access to all the gorgeous beaches. Thankyou

A splendid place to stay, very convenient for reaching different places on the Gower.

The owners are next door and are lovely people. Would highly recommend it.

Cottage was perfect, spotlessly clean and cosy.

The bed was really comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. The hosts Caroline and Huw were very friendly, Huw told us if a number of nice walks locally.Thank you so much for the gluten free welcome goodies, they were very much appreciated. Location was ideal for exploring everything the Gower Peninsula has to offer. National Waterfront Museum in Swansea is worth a visit. Good train service from Gowerton (30 minute drive away and free parking). Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very good for a couple.

Facilities and extras...great.

Cottage perfect for a couple, so peaceful, handy for exploring the area, would definitely return again loved every minute, best welsh scone ever .

This is the 2nd time that we have stayed at The Granary and will definitely come again.

Graham

The Granary is a well appointed , well equipped and spotlessly clean cottage which we would highly recommend.

It is an excellent base to explore the Gower Peninsula with lots of walks nearby. Huw and Caroline, the owners, who live next door were friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for the welcome pack including delicious homemade cakes. There is nothing that could improve the cottage, it is perfect !

Lovely cottage very clean and well maintained Huw and Caroline are very kind and helpful we thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks despite the weather not being very good the area is just lovely this was our second visit to this cottage

Lovely cottage - clean, well maintained & peaceful Owners very friendly & helpful

A wonderful holiday cottage, amazing hosts, home from home, spotlessly clean, we will certainly be back.

, thank you

Well appointed, spotlessly clean, peaceful and in a great location to explore the Gower.

Friendly owners living next door and 2 lovely dogs to greet you on your return from a day out. What more could you want!

The Granary is a delightful property, a stylishly renovated conversion which is cosy, comfortable, and we'll appointed.

I used it as a base for walking the coastal path, and it's location is ideal. The owners are helpful, and left a delicious welcome package. Definitely no complaints, nor any suggestions for improvement. I want to go back to the area to do more walking, and this is where I will stay.

Couldn't have been more delighted with this cottage.

The owners had thought of everything. It was warm and cosy and all the fittings were of a very high standard. A welcome tray was a lovely bonus. Even though the weather wasn't too good, we enjoyed a really relaxing week.

Lovely cottage in a great area.

Owners very friendly and have really thought about what their guests need, with kind touches such as a hairdryer, heated drying rack and welcome items on arrival. The kitchen was well equipped with fridge and freezer box, all crockery, cutlery and cookware that you might need as well as salt and pepper. A small supply of tea and coffee was also provided. Wifi worked perfectly and they provided lots of information on local services, walks and attractions which was very helpful. We enjoyed cosy evenings in front of the TV or playing one of the wide selection of games on offer (there are also a number of books and DVDs provided, you could bring your own too). The roll top bath was a great experience after a long (wet) days walking! The only small issues were that there seems to be a little damp in the outside wall of the bedroom, perhaps made worse by the torrential rain we had, and the mattress could be better. I personally don't get on with feather pillows due to my allergies so it might be good to offer foam ones instead if possible. Overall though a very enjoyable stay with some very thoughtful hosts in a most beautiful part of Wales.

Appreciated welcome goodies, along with personal welcome visit.

Th3 Granary gave a convenient comfortable base and the excellent selection of local tourist info. was very helpful. It is well located to enable easy exploration of the area Our only minor comment was the lack of an ice cube tray in the freezer

Beautifully clean cottage with plenty of facilities.

Good location for exploring The Gower.

Lovely little cottage ideally situated for coastal and forest walks.

The owners (Huw and Caroline) were friendly and helpful with local information if needed. The welcome pack was very much appreciated, as was the meal ready for us on arrival, an option I would recommend. The cottage was comfortable with all ameneties, with a nice little area for relaxing in with a cup of tea in the garden. All in all a great holiday, we hope to return at some time in the future.

Cottage was comfortable, clean and perfectly well equipped, hosts really friendly and the welcome pack really appreciated.

The local area is just beautiful - we were spoilt by a week of glorious weather, the local walks and beaches are stunning. Really enjoyable week

What a beautiful cottage!

Comfortable, tastefully furnished, well equipped. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated, as was the opportunity to have a home made dinner on the first evening, we have not come across this before. The information provided about the area was excellent, really helpful. Thank you very much Caroline and Huw.

The Granary was perfect and so were the owners, Caroline and Huw.

We loved the dogs too. Very friendly. The welcoming pack was ready and waiting, a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of home made cake and welsh teacakes was just what was needed after a long journey. We have booked another stay there. You cannot improve on perfection. Thank you for a lovely stay. The scenery was spectacular.

The Granary was ideal for us - no stairs, two loos and a lovely big bath!

Our hostess had thought of absolutely everything and consequently the cottage was beautifully equipped. Huw and Caroline were very welcoming and could not do enough for us, we so enjoyed the home-made goodies. The location is excellent for visiting the Gower Peninsula, especially as it is close to Rhossili and to the Beach House at Oxwich. We shall certainly enthuse about our stay which was too short to take in all that the Gower has to offer.

Excellent cottage.

HIghly recommended

As it was chilly in the mornings and evenings Caroline kindly put the heating on.

We spent a few days at Parc lodge guest house and had a lovely time, nothing was too much trouble for our host, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast very good, although only a continental breakfast was available due to the virus it was more than adequate.

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage.

In a great location to visit all the beautiful beaches on the Gower coast. Huw gave us a warm welcome, and although we didn’t get to meet Caroline, she left us a wonderful welcome pack, including delicious homemade cakes! Would definitely return to this perfect cottage.

Good to know after our long walks we had a comfortable cosy cottage to return too.

Our welcome pack was packed with goodies, Wonderful.

Very comfortable cottage with good outdoor space.

Ideal location for access to all parts of the Gower.

The peace and quiet of this delightfully converted property made it the ideal place to relax, as well as being well located to explore the Gower peninsula.

The owners made us very welcome, with the option of a main meal awaiting us on arrival, backed up by a good welcome pack, including delicious home baking. Having the owners living next door was assuring, if we had needed anything but, although we didn't, our occasional contact found them to be very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about walks, etc. We hope to go again.

Unfortunately the road sign saying “Scurlage” has been knocked off, just leaving the two posts to which it was attached.

This makes it very difficult not to miss the turning off the main road. Obvious this is not the fault of either Sykes Cottages or the owners!

The Acomadation was just perfect well equipped clean and very well decorated.

The location gave easy access to the local beaches and cliff top walks which were really great.Weather was perfect the owners were very friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated the welcome pack on our arrival thank you to Huw and Caroline,we hope to return in the near future

Quiet, small cottage set back from a quiet road and joined to the owners house.

Very warm and comfy in a fantastic location. Rhossilli beach and The Worm 10 mins away and many other coves/beaches/walks within 20 mins. Only 25 mins to Swansea where we did a larger supermarket shop. Fish & Chips and general store a couple of minutes away. Due to Covid can't advise on Pubs or Restaurants as we self catered. The cottage has a small kitchen but all you could need. Outside is a pleasant garden with seating and a BBQ ( first coals included). Internet available, reasonable, sometimes hesitant ! Lovely 'light pollution' free skies for starry nights! Cows and sheep can be seen and swallows nesting in the barn. Lots of birdsong as so quiet. The cottage has the advantage of a shower AND a huge free standing bath, plenty of hot water and an airier in the large bathroom (which was always warm) to dry clothes etc. There are leaflets and walking books available and also maps. The host Caroline is a mine of local information too, as well as a good cook! (First night evening meal available by arrangement, reasonable price and a lovely welcome tray provided). We found all the information invaluable, there being no Tourist Information nearby. A fantastic holiday base, we were lucky with the weather too, already booked for next year, what else can I say, loved it !

Ideal central location, the cottage is just right for one or two people and the design around the old farm buildings have been well thought out to make a home for the owners with cottages attached

Just that it was a really cosy, home from home.

The welcome pack was delicious, the welcome warm and the efficient heating much appreciated at this damp, cold time of year, especially the +1 hr override control for a little extra boost! The cottage is well appointed in every respect, including kitchen utensils. We'll be back.....

The location of the cottage was ideal being within a short drive of the main beaches on the Gower.

On the edge of Scurlage village so quiet but in easy reach of the local shop.

We had a fantastic relaxing holiday.

The accommodation had everything you could want. Lovely welcoming pack great start to the holiday and the owners are welcoming and helpful.

This is a beautiful cottage in a quiet setting, but close to the many beautiful beaches on the Gower.

The hosts are lovely and so are their 2 lovely dogs. A nice touch was the welcome pack left on arrival, including home made, delicious cake! Gower is truly beautiful with many walks and villages to visit, and the cottage supplied lots of information leaflets, maps and books which proved invaluable.

The Granary is very well located to get to most places on the Gower by bus.

The hosts, Caroline and Huw were exceptionally kind, helpful and thoughtful.

I had mentioned I was gluten free and we were warmly greeted on arrival with home baked Welsh cakes including an almond and pear gluten free cake for me. A very personal touch. The cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean and has everything you need. There were lots of tips for visiting provided by them and we discovered many beautiful beaches ( Rossilli, Three Cliffs, Port Eynon.) sun flower fields and many scenic walks nearby. We visited the Mumbles twice too. There was a pretty church at Port Eynon, dating from the 6th century where we were warmly welcomed by the congregation and the friendly Rev Justin Davies and his wife on the Sunday. It was a relaxing and refreshing break in South Wales and we send our thanks to all concerned. We found it helpful to do a first shop in Swansea on our way, as the cottage is in a rural area but there is a local store in Scurlage about 5 minutes drive away and a delicious fish and chip shop too. Lovely staff in both.

The accommodation was of a very high standard.

The owner's were welcoming and helpful. Every detail in the cottage had been thought about_plenty of clothes storage and hooks. Simply the best place we have ever stayed. We hope to book again next year.

Not only were we overwhelmed with the Welcome Pack but the cottage itself rates in our Top 3 lets!

A very comfortable, well equipped, welcoming cottage in a lovely area so close to many beaches. An ideal place to relax and refresh before entering the world again! Many thanks to the owners who continue to uphold your tradition of quality - something which Sykes is well known for. I would recommend the cottage to anyone wanting 'time out' but suspect that bookings will be fast and furious.

The cottage was very clean, warm and welcoming.

Top marks for the lovely tray of home baking provided which helped us feel at home the moment we walked in the door. The property is small but we never felt cramped. Most importantly, we both slept well in a comfortable bed. We found it an excellent base from which to explore the Gower for the first time, which did not disappoint with excellent walking close by. If anything the house slightly exceeded our expectations. The owners left us to it, but when I did go next door to offer recompense for having accidentally broken an ornament Caroline was lovely about it and wouldn't take a penny, so thanks again Caroline.

The owners of this cottage have provided a very well appointed and comfortable place, and we had an most enjoyable week exploring the area.

The Gower lived up to its tourist advertising, even on its wet days! Some general instructions about the grill function would have been useful (no problems with the oven!)

The Granary is a holiday let I would highly recommend.

Friendly hosts Huw and Caroline, who left us the biggest welcome package we have ever had. We savoured every mouthful!! Location is lovely, not far from beautiful bays and beaches and ideal for exploring Gower and South Wales. The holiday let was warm and so comfortable and decor so tasteful. We really enjoyed our stay and will cetainly return.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting

Very welcoming couple cottage was great had everything

Ideal for what I wanted and where I wanted.

The only negative is having to park at the front and then lug stuff up the side track which is muddy and slippery. Not good for a 70 year old with a new hip! The annoying thing is that there are double gates with parking at the back within the property rear garden, so I don’t know why they couldn’t be opened.

The cottage was comfortable and well equipped with everything we could need.

Our hosts were warm and made us feel welcome - the tray of cakes was particularly appreciated! The cottage was located in a small village which meant that it was quiet and relaxing after days spent walking. A beautiful area of the country - well worth a visit.

Welcome pack was very helpful and useful, owners helpful and friendly showed an interest in what we were doing.

Nice to get local books about walks. Quiet calm location giving us the chance to recharge our batteries in such a wonderful surroundings

The accommodation was very well appointed, had everything you could ever need and the owners only next door for peace of mind.

A welcome tray of cakes and bread, tea, milk etc is a lovely touch following a journey. The Gower is a beautiful place, shame our weather wasn't ideal, but we'll be back.

The accommodation was excellent.

However, visitors need to be aware that in order to reach the village of Scurlage and the Gower coastline beyond on foot it is necessary to walk for 5-10 minutes along a busy A road with no pavement. The one shop in the village is expensive, even charging £1-85 to make withdrawals from the cash machine, therefore visitors should come well stocked with food to last the week. Otherwise, the nearest decent food shops would appear to be 10 miles away in Swansea.

The cottage was perfect and cosy .

Lovely extras of homemade treats was very much appreciated on arrival . Close to the Gower with beautiful views

The Granary is a lovely clean and very well equipped cottage.

The location is great for exploring the Gower Peninsula. The WiFi is a bit hit and miss but this didn’t spoil our holiday. I would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage.

Very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage.

Lovely part of the Gower, away from Swansea, but only two miles from Port Eynon and Rhossili. Local shops for all food items within one mile. Very pleasant holiday. Landlady also made us feel very welcome.

The Granary is very pretty and well positioned being just off the main road.

The property was very clean and decorated in a simple style. A welcome pack was provided which included a large selection of delicious homemade cakes. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a quiet location to relax.

An excellent little cottage

Very comfortable cottage in a great location.

A warm welcome from the on site owners including a huge tray of homemade cakes, just for the two of us! We would be happy to return! Plenty of off road parking and a private garden to sit in.

The Granary cottage was very cosy and ideally located to explore the beautiful south Gower coast.

Many thanks to the owners for a warm welcome including delicious home made goodies. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return soon.

Within reach of amazing coastal walks, lovely quiet cottage.

Very well appointed bathroom and en suite, comfortable bed. Approach could be a little muddy and the kitchen could have a few more aids to home cooking.

There is a good shop & pub in the village The bus service was excellent & lovely walks

Lovely cottage in a good location for exploring The Gower.

Hosts provided map and books which were helpful, also a welcome pack with milk, tea, coffee and sugar.

Lovely cottage in an ideal location.

Owners provided accurate instructions to get to property. Owners also provided walking books and maps for use whilst there which was really helpful.

Very friendly and helpful owners.
