"Firstly, the chalet was very difficult to find."
The host only gave us the instruction to check the map outside reception. After having to find a member of bar staff (as reception had closed by the time of our arrival), we were told this map had long been removed. Secondly, the chalet had a mould issue. The cabin had a foul odour throughout of damp. There was mould on the curtains and around fixtures and fittings. Thirdly, the shower did not drain quickly. By the end of your shower, you were up to your ankles in water, and the debris left was a mix of hair (who’s?) and grit. Fourthly, the WiFi barely worked. You may get one webpage before it gave up. Our mobile network was no better. Next, the beds were extremely well used and had the indents of previous users. The owner made no contact with us. We were told to contact them. On top of all the above, we were asked to strip the beds (which unfortunately revealed unclean mattresses) to maintain the cleanliness of the cabin! The listing describes a 24hr swimming pool, but does not mention that this is communal, comes at a fee and needs booking. It also lists a washing machine, which is also in a separate building. The property provides biscuits and coffee. It does not provide towels due to previous misuse, nor hand soap in the bathroom. The location, however, is stunning, as is its convenience to the beautiful south wales countryside. This is not a cheap listing, nor does it uphold the standard of hotels.com. Avoid.

"We had a lovely stay over Christmas, chalet was clean and had homely feel to it."
The little touches like hand soap, washing up liquid and tea and coffee was welcomed. Only niggle was the washing machine having a broken door.
Will definitely stay again next time we are in Kidwelly!

"First of all where do I start, it’s a ok stay for a few days but it’s not great, the washing machine had no handle was completely broken off which is a pain when you need to do a quick wash when you have 3 kids, as kids get messy we come from Blackpool holiday to spend last couple of days here which we thought we could use washing machine but no, thirdly the place was crawling alive with bugs on bed, walls, there were a few ants nests in there in a few spots that need to be dealt with my wife got bitten by bugs we found ants climbing around the floors on walls on bed."
They clearly know they have an insect problem as there were a few insect killer sprays under the sink in there. Wasn’t comfy wasn’t enjoyable won’t return, it’s a lovely view from chalet but that’s about it.

"Lovely property, we could hear and see the sea, the change in tide, the wildlife."
A 15 minute walk to the venue and shop.
Inside the chalet was two, 2 seater leather sofas, tv, radio, double glazed glass door looking out to sea, two double beds, and bunk beds, very quiet, essentials in the kitchen along with cups, coffee, tea, fridge freezer, nice hot shower. On arrival a nice packet of shortbread was a welcome gift. Definitely stay here again

"We had a fantastic holiday and won't hesitate to be booking again!"
We have been coming to this site for the past 34 years and this is by far one of our favourite chalets we have stayed in. The layout really works, you have all kitchen items you need, the pillows were really comfy, a few steps away from the beach, as well as a short walk to the park facilities if that is what you enjoy. The 3 bedrooms were well presented and not overcrowded, with a good size bathroom with shower cubicle. The owner of the chalet was fantastic, kept us updated and helped out when needed. More than approachable for anyone nervous about contacting an owner about anything! Very enjoyable holiday, gutted to be home but looking forward to returning!

"Our stay was wonderful, although a few essential items, such as salt and cooking spices, were missing."
For children, additional entertainment, such as books, playing cards, and puzzles, would be a nice addition. For safety, a first-aid kit and fire blanket would be a helpful addition to the existing fire extinguisher.
Thank you.

"Shipwreck Chalet is comfortable accommodation in a great location."
The scenery is beautiful and so so quiet. We had a great holiday and used the chalet as a base to explore the area. The owners were very accommodating and offered advice when asked.
The onsite facilities are basic and the pool very small, the slide was out of action.

"Unlike other chalets on the site it has a clear view of the bay and is very close to it."
I would suggest that a free standing toilet frame be made available. This would increase the number of potential booking and as a result additional profit.

"A little bit of TLC needed."
The shower will still run when you have pulled the switch.
Had to put ant powder by the patio doors as we had an ant infestation. There were too many pots and pans so no where to put shopping.
There is no lock on the toilet door, the double bedroom opposite the toilet door doesn't shut properly. Patio furniture could do with changing it’s very rusty. The garden area could do with the grass cutting.
The view was amazing and the bed was comfortable and bedding was fresh and clean. The owner was lovely and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay. I not recommend buying the passes for Park Dean unless you have young children as the pool is small and crowded the arcade is small, the restaurant is expensive.
You have to pay extra to play the golf even though you have bought the.
We really enjoyed the sea view from the living room. All in all a lovely stay.

"The chalet is in a great location offering great views."
It has a great layout, was clean and cosy and the kitchen is well equipped.
Great communication with the owner who was friendly and helpful and advised ahead of arrival which room would be best suited for a travel cot and that a high chair would be available.
It was unfortunate that there was a really strong smell of damp. I used shake and vac to try and mask the smell and opened windows where I could and wiped moisture from windows which built up overnight when heating was on.
I think this will be less of an issue in summer months.
Overall had a lovely stay and great location as a base to go to see the surrounding area.
