  • "Fabulous property for our family weekend of fun and games."

Plenty of room for everyone - 20 plus baby. Fabulous grounds surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Excellent swimming pool, although could do with a clean. Several guests extremely disappointed to find the sauna was out of action. We could have done with the Aga for additional cooking space but apparently it’s not turned on until October. We also had to get the BBQ replaced as it was dirty, and full of water. However, it was changed immediately. All in all though a great stay.

The Croft was lovely, everyone had lots to do, it was comfortable, well appointed, in a lovely setting with fantastic views. Everything you may need was there, the owner was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The indoor pool and garden were favourites, and all enjoyed a couple of BBQ’s on the terrace. We could not have had a better celebration, and the weather was great too!

The communication and ease on the day of arrival was brilliant. A massive house to a high standard throughout - but comfy with it so you can feel like you can relax. There was 24 of us and we all had ample space. The icing on the cake by far is the pool, sauna an yoga building. Followed very quickly by the stunning gardens. Tracey was really helpful on the day getting us sorted and everything you need to know is in a really useful manual. Two large fridge freezers meant we could stock for the duration and everything you could ever imagine you needed is in the kitchen. We had so much fun and was a great place to be together. We will be going back.

The owner was there to greet us and helped set up an arrangement whereby one of our party, who had recently broken her leg, could still access her room. Everything was as described. Only one slight issue was raised - Bedroom 1 didn't have any blind/curtain in the en-suite! The kitchen was very well equipped. There was just one utensil missing that we could have done with. That was an apple corer, to prepare all the wonderful apples that we foraged from the hedgerows at this time of the year.

I am glad you had a nice time at the croft . We don’t have a blind on the bathroom of bedroom 1 as no one can see into the bathroom and we don’t want to spoil the view of the black mountains for you or other guests . We have now put an apple corer in the kitchen . So when you visit again hopefully you can enjoy the apples again thank you Tracey Property Owner

However, the internet is appauling! I think it's worth noting in the listing that there is very very little internet in the house. There is WIFI, but the signal is very weak and we weren't even able to load a simple webpage from anywhere in the house. As this was a corporate booking for us, this caused us all sorts of issues throughout the stay as we couldn't do any work at all. The phone signal is also awful, so we couldn't even hot spot our phones. This is the only negative comment we have, however. If this had been a none corporate booking we wouldn't have minded, as it's probably quite nice to switch off from the world for a bit. But it's a key piece of information really that should be listed in the description, no internet!

Our stay was for a surprise 70th birthday, with family arriving from all over England. The Croft it's utterly breathtaking. The pool and sauna were outstanding and kept the kids (and parents) occupied throughout the holiday. If we weren't in the pool, there would be a football table tounrmament or pool match going on! The grounds were extremely spacious and with 23 of us there, you never felt like you were getting under anyone's feet. Tom was wonderful, pleasant and polite. The kids were overwhelmed when Tom invited them to feed the lambs. Memories made forever. There's a large supermarket nearby, 20minutes by the car, so you can get supplies easily for your stay. Now, just waiting for another milestone birthday to arrive to be able to book again.

We were particularly impressed by variety of the kitchen equipment, the comfortable seating and the homely feel of the place. the owners even left flowers for us. The pool was a real joy and we made good use of that. We only had one problem - with heating in the annex - and that was resolved with a phone call. The owners were interested to know what criticisms we might have and we have shared those. Principally though, many of our criticisms arose from the application of the covid restrictions imposed by Sykes and we were told these were not to be relaxed until after next summer season. Time to let them go Sykes! I think we all now know you can't catch covid from touching bed linen or instruction and information sheets.

Wifi was very slow and even poor in places. The Suana worked once and then blew the fuses in the swimming pool heater. We were unable to use the sauna for the duration of our stay. However problems were quickly tackled and the fact it was a Bank Holiday did not help to solve the problem. The terrace was wonderful in the kind weather and our family enjoyed all the grounds and pool. Several of our outside caterers said they were surprised that a kitchen with two ovens dishwashers and freezers only had one sink something perhaps to look at. Generally very pleased we had a lovely time. All staff and operatives very helpful.

It was clean, well kept and great for a large family break. For that I would have scored high. However, there are some key points that really were frustrating and actually I think grounds for a refund (as Easter week this was a high price booking) 1. There is no jacuzzi. You are advertising this still. From talking to the cleaners, its been gone over a year. 2. Pool heating was broken and couldn't be used properly for the bulk of the stay. Appreciate completely getting it fixed over Easter weekend was tough, but to not have a warm or indeed heated pool for 5 out of 7 days isn't acceptable. Final fix was done on the Monday, it took till Wed to be warm ish and only really useable on the Thursday, Departure was 9.30am on Friday. As we paid a premium for facilities that were either literally not there or not useable can we discuss getting some ££ back?

20 is a much better number for the dining table and chairs. 243/4 is really awkward (we have been before with a bigger number). You end up with people have to crawl under the table to get to the seats on the other side of the U shaped table arrangement. For perfection we think the table and chairs could be less heavy weight and cumbersome - allowing a more convenient arrangement of tables - so that walking round tables would be easier. Apart from all all is really good.

Travel cots in the property are good quality and so are the highchairs. We did have a little issue with the heating but it was swiftly sorted out for us. One of the rooms has a missing blind/curtain in the bathroom. Needs to be replaced although it was a great view when having a shower. Only thing we would recommend is that the pool could do with a hand rail. My grandad had a stiff leg when we got there so a hand rail would have been brilliant for him to use the pool. You were quick enough to take my money both for the deposit, interim payments and the final payment but when it came to my needing help and assistance from you when the Government, 5 days before the start of the holiday, altered the criteria for holidays such as this you 'went missing'. I spent 90 minutes in total trying to contact your customer services. I sent an e-mail to your customer services on the 4th August explaining my problems. It is now 22nd August and I am still waiting for a response from you to that e-mail. I sent a further e-mail to you the following day after I had spoken to the owners of the property who, unlike yourselves, were most helpful. Yet again I await a reply from you. You did not have the decency to acknowledge either of these e-mails let alone answer my queries from the first one. I have severe reservations about using your company again for future holidays and based on my experience of your customer service I have no intention of recommending you to anybody.

She fully explained all the aspects of the property and ensured that we knew how to contact her should we need to do so. The location is perfect. Quiet and within quick reach of the Brecons. The weather was mediocre but this was saved by the pool.!!! We had an age range of 3 to 73 and the facilities were enjoyed by all. We self catered throughout, once again the kitchen was extremely well equipped which enabled us to present the meals properly in a very spacious dining room. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. There is nothing to fault. On the final day, Pat was there to wave us off. The band of workers arrived to ready the property for the next visitors. They were friendly and did not make us feel rushed to depart. On behalf of our family who came to help us celebrate our 45th anniversary, thank you to everyone involved in this property. Perfect place.

Ages now range between 16 months and almost 90 years, ( and one baby on the way) and the Croft works for everyone. Really comfortable and beautiful surroundings with magnificent views. The clean, warm pool again was a big hit as was the little play area, the sheep, the lovely big kitchen and space for everyone to sit in a comfy chair in the evenings, with 2 sitting rooms for different moods. we hope we can come again as the family continues to grow. Everyone helpful and friendly when we needed anything.

The bedroom setup was perfect for our group and the facilities in the house were just what we needed. The pool, suana and jacuzzi were well used by all, as was the games room pool table. The large lounge was perfect for after dinner entertainments, for which we had a magician come in to perform, with plenty of room for all the guests to gather round. We had caterers come in to provide and serve us the birthday dinner, rather than going out on a cold and windy February evening, and this was again the perfect venue for it. Those who left after the weekend were wishing they were able to stay, and very envious of those of us who did. A great venue which has given us many memories which we will never forget. Highly recommended.

  • "The amount and variety of walks around the house are way understated, to the disadvantage of further adding to the attraction of the house."

Although there are a couple in the box folder provided in the kitchen they are just the tip of the iceberg. For instance our group had a lovely walk from the path that starts right outside the house, up the hill and across and in a large circle that brought us out by Polston farm (something like that) less than half a mile away from the house. There are loads like this as there are footpaths and bridleways everywhere. Other than this the house actually exceeded our expectations and we (especially the kids) were sad to leave.

  • "Wonderful environment, views, pool complex superb."

Well equipped and comfortable. I think that the main house is of a higher standard than the annex re noise from traffic, plumbing and floor boards. We did have considerable problems with plumbing in Annex and locking arrangements all of which I am assured will be dealt with. The house is on the corner of 2 surprisingly busy roads which perhaps could be mentioned in the website. Altogether we had a wonderful 4 nights in a beautiful house in a fabulous part of the world.

Works well for our family get together. Only problem we had this time was that the annexe had a few problems with noise from the plumbing and floorboards, if they could sort that, it would be perfect. Would definitely go again, beautiful area. Swimming pool a great hit

30/14.45 (arrival time quoted as 15.00), it was very disappointing to be greeted with - 'you're early'. We weren't trying to get into the property but just park the car. And our departure time was 10am (quite early enough) but the cleaning team arrived just after 9am and whilst they didn't come into the house, they were in and out of the swimming pool and grounds. Not a comfortable feeling. Having said that the house was well equipped and welcoming, with only minor niggles The swimming pool and sauna were a delight and the area is absolutely fabulous. I personally would have no hesitation in returning

  • "Our only complaint would be the early arrival of quite a few cleaners/gardeners on departure day."

It felt as if we were in the way and quite harassed to leave. Men strolling around the site, women waiting to get on with the job...not a nice feeling. We were asked to leave by ten and we were. We didnt need the intimidation of these people. Kind of sullied the holiday, which is a shame.
