Firstly, the steps to the back door were very steep, access for anyone disabled would be very testing.

Cleanliness wasn't as good as I was expecting, fridge not cleaned, open ice cube bags and food left in freezer from previous occupation, dead flies and moths on the windows cills , mould around bath , bath panel seen better days, toilet seat loose and chipped, sinktap crome poor, mould in shower and black grime around outside of the shower, shower drained very slowly ended up standing in water, toilet seat soft close wouldn't work, seating in the front room was so uncomfortable, one of the dining room chairs wobbled when you sat on it. Had to put it to one side. Oven had never been cleaned, we never bothered to attempt to put anything in it, grease around the control knobs on cooker, had to clean it before we used it. Kitchen bin rusty. Patio door external beads fell out had to re-fit them to secure the glass, patio paved area accident waiting to happen grout missing and uneven, master bedroom lampshade ripped, dining room radiator some kind of stain not cleaned. Windows hadn't been cleaned, and it looked as iff there was no safety film fitted to the internal glass screen to prevent a serious accident if anyone was to fall against the screen. Beautiful view iff only the building was as good. I will not be staying here again.

Ptarmigan is a spacious wel equiped bungalow on a lovely spot with views and good value for money.

Good walks from the house to river, wetlands and wood, Access is a 1/3 mile dusty gravel road, sitting comfort in lounge could be better, steep stone steps to entrance are minor drawbacks. We enjoyed our stay in this quiet an remote bungalow with the occasional deer on our lawn.
