The Neuk

We love this property and have now stayed there 3 years in a row.

We can always find parking somewhere along the street. The property is always clean with a welcome package that is much appreciated. It is in an ideal location with a shop nearby and close to the town centre. The owners are aware of a few minor maintenance issues, which we are sure they will address. We would LOVE to stay there again.

Nice comfy apartment, reasonably well equipped, with plenty of space for just two of us.

Not sure one bathroom between four people would be so great though! Appreciated the welcome of milk wine shortbread. Apartment well situated for walking to supermarket and plenty to do, places to visit, within few miles such as castles, distilleries, museums and lovely beach at Lossiemouth Shower was very good with water always hot but the hot tap in kitchen could do with some adjustment to control flow. We also found the mattress on the bed uncomfortable making sleep difficult. However overall we were pleased with the accommodation for one week’s stay to break our journey on our way to Thurso on the north coast.

The only things that need attention are the taps in the kitchen and bathroom need sorting, the mattress in both bedrooms are too hard, otherwise the whole property was great.

It is the second year running we have stayed and are likely to book again in the future.

A couple of small things - it would be useful to have a washing up bowl, sieve and a long handled dustpan and brush.

Great location for centre of Elgin and local park. Well equipped if doing your own cooking. Very comfortable stay. To be recommended.

It met all our needs.

It was a lovely experience, felt very much like home, the apartment was extremely neat and clean and my child enjoyed his cartoons.

The owner is very nice and accommodating, willing to go the extra mile for you.

Well equipped and spotless, central location

Lovely stay at The Neuk, cleanest holiday home I've stayed in by far.

Great central base for Elgin, Lossiemouth and other areas. Got in plenty of exploring. We found the beds very hard and uncomfortable, so for this reason we possibly wouldn't come back again unless a mattress topper was added. Otherwise a lovely house with all that you need.

Flat was great.

Very handy for all the local facilities and for travelling around visiting the area. The flat was comfortable & had all that was necessary for our stay. I do feel though that if it was a family staying & doing more cooking the kitchen could do with a few more utensils & bowls/jugs but it was perfectly adequate for us. I'd definitely, happily stay there again

We loved staying in this cottage.

It was clean and modern. It was in an ideal location and we could always find somewhere to park a little further along the street. When we next go to Elgin we are extremely likely to book this cottage again.

Only negative was heating came on and it wasn't needed as it was August and sunny, but no instructions as how to turn it off !

Welcome pack was much appreciated. Very handy for town and cooper park. Would be nice if back garden was paved but thats a minor quibble.

We spent a lovely week in 'the Neuk'.

We struggled with the amount of daylight that came in through the wooden blinds. It was a last minute booking, so if I had realised beforehand I would have been prepared with some blackout curtains. The washing line could do with the bush next to it being cut as it is currently making the line out of action. Luckily their was an airer supplied so I just put that outside to dry clothes. Some plastic plates/cups would be handy. We never are outside as I didn't want to risk anything getting broken (I was travelling with 2 children). The property itself was lovely and spacious. Water runs out of the corner of the shower so be careful if you don't put the mat down properly. Loved our stay, unfortunately the kids fought too much sharing the double bed so I'm not sure we wil be back. But will definitely recommend to friends

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay. Lovely cottage with such attention to detail.Clean and comfortable. Really appreciated little extras. Host responded very quickly to question I had about house. Will definitely be back if visiting Elgin.

I enjoyed my stay at The Neuk. It was very cosy. The cottage was an absolutely lovely find. Close to the city centre. Very neat and well furnished and the nice touch of complimentary Tea, Coffee, Wine and Shortbread was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely be using your service again.

Great property.

Spotless. All necessary equipment. Very helpful host responds quickly to texts. All single storey but does have quite steep steps at gate entrance.

2nd time staying at the Neuk, it was perfect for our needs.

All excellent apart from the TV which only allowed us to get BBC1 and lack of information for recycling

Holiday home was excellent well presented, clean and well presented.

The accommodation was first class exactly as the pictures provided.

This was the second time I have used Sykes and would definitely do so again. One point to pass on to the owners. Recycle bins where provided outside but no info on when they needed to be put out for collection by the local council was provided. They had not been emptied for some time judging by the fill levels. Also small waste bins in the bedrooms would be very useful.But the standard of everything else was spot on.

Ultra clean!

The wee hoose was great. Decent shower and kitchen. Good tv. Outdoor area could do with paving. We enjoyed ourselves hugely. Only one gripe. The beds are not king size as advertised. Being 6’2” I would not have booked this property had I known they were standard doubles. Apart from that, would do it all again. Thank you.

The Neuk was very comfortable, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean.

Elgin is a great base from which to explore the area & The Neuk was close to the town centre shopping & dining too.

This is a fantastic apartment that has clearly been the subject of a no expense spared renovation.

The facilities are excellent and Elgin is a great base for exploring this part of Northern Scotland. The beaches are amazing and you will get the chance to see dolphins, seals and birds. Just one minor point. The description describes the bedrooms as king size. The beds are in fact only double beds so be aware of this. Apart from this, this apartment is a great place to stay.

The welcome pack and flowers was a really nice touch. Check in and out was very simple. We really enjoyed our stay at The Neuk.
