  • "Lovely house, good location, loved being close to the woods as it was perfect for walking our dogs."

Comfy beds abd house was well stocked with everything we could need for our weeks stay. Would have been perfect if hot tub was still available.

Lorraine thanks so much for your feedback. We really appreciate it and delighted you had a great holiday. We miss the hot tub too, but it just became too expensive to run when we are dependant on others to maintain it and the heating costs increased so much. So glad you came back though. That means a lot. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house."

So well equipped. Comfortable and homely. Once settled we didn’t feel it was too big for the 2 of us and our dog however there is plenty room for bigger parties. Unusually there was no welcome pack. For the fee a small welcome pack would have been appreciated. We had a few small issues with cleanliness that we passed onto the cleaners after our holiday, however the issues did not impact our stay. Lovely secure garden for our dog. There is also a patio area with table and chairs. Fantastic forest walks from the door. Very quiet area which helped us to relax. We have been holidaying in Aviemore for nearly 20 years, we just love it. Great area with so much to see and do. We had such a great week and enjoyed what the house offered, we’re already booked up for next year.

Sorry to hear you had an issue with cleanliness. I will speak to our cleaners and see what happened. Regarding a welcome pack there should have been a bottle of Prosecco for you on arrival. Glad you had a nice stay. Property Owner

It's a fantastic house in a great location, and the showers were a particular highlight! Easy access to lots of walks in the woods behind, and close enough to walk into Aviemore. Aviemore and the surrounding areas have so much to offer that we only wish we could have stayed longer.

We had a problem with getting normal channels on the TV and we contacted the owners by phone for assistance. We left a message asking for advice but no one replied. This is the second time we have stayed here. The house is big enough to accomodate our party of 5 plus the dog. The garden is secure and fenced which is perfect for young children and dogs. Beautiful area of the world to explore.

Pamela I am so sorry to hear this. I will take this up with the maintenance people. There has been a problem with Sky since the storms. It is very annoying that this wasn’t fixed when you were there. I can only apologise. Isla Property Owner

The beds are comfortable and felt very homely. The town / village is near by 3/4 mins in car and walking approx 15/20 mins. The garden is secure for dogs and also has a kennel “should you need” it and also a shed to put your bikes in. If I’m honest this property is exceptional!

It was our 5th visit to Aviemore but first time staying at Burnside - we will definitely book again. Can't fault this house at all. It was spotless on arrival, had everything you need, comfy couches and beds, fenced in back garden, quiet area, plenty of walks nearby (our dog loved it!) and was close enough to town if you wanted to pop into shops/restaurants etc. Spoke to the owner briefly re. a question with the fire - she was super friendly and approachable. I would not hesitate booking this house again :)

  • "Nice house, clean with good amenities (and a big fridge!"

) but missing hot tub from original listing which is why we picked it above another house available when choosing. This house is a new build set in a housing estate and though pleasant enough, next door have some building works going on at the bottom of their garden and so there is hammering etc from 8.30am onwards. At the moment I am regretting this choice over a more isolated cottage which is our usual pick.

  • "Something tripped out some of the power sockets and ligths on our last evening."

I had no access to the fuse box to resolve the issue. If this occurred mid week it would have been quite annoying as i wouldn't have been able to resolve it myself. The garage is not mentioned in the listing so I didn't except access but it was unclear how big and secure the outdoor shed is. The shed has enough space for around 4 bikes and is as secure as any wooden shed can be.

  • "The property is beautiful, the beds were ultra comfy and the facilities excellent."

Just 2 small points that are a bit of a negative... 1. We booked the property because we wanted a hot tub then it was removed. We understand that electricity costs are at an all time high but it was a slight disappointment. 2. We had no dishwasher for the week and the fuse box tripped several times over the week. At one point we had no electricity in the kitchen for 2 hours in the middle of cooking a meal.

Hi Anita this is the first time I have heard this.I will talk to our maintenance company. It sounds like the problem might be the dish washer. I will see what they are saying. I appreciate the comments on the hot tub and I totally understand. The rising costs was the key reason we took it out but I also felt it was wrong to be heating water during an energy crisis. I will investigate the dishwasher. Thanks for the feedback. We can only get better with your feedback - negative as well as positive. Property Owner

Well stocked kitchen, lovely bedding and super-cosy; wood burning stove not needed for heat but always great for winter nights … especially after a hot tub soak. We didn’t have our dog on this trip but impressive consideration to dog friendly garden etc. if there is a downside, you are a good distance from the centre but the quiet, countryside feel makes up for that! Good kitchen with plenty of appliances and I appreciated the gesture of the bottle of wine left for me . Very kind .Only comment I would make is, that I would like to have recycled food waste and paper etc. but there was no specific bins for this like I have at home. The blue bins that were there were full and overflowing and I actually tidied up discarded rubbish left around the bins after they were emptied on bin collection day. It looks as if the bins hadn't been emptied the week before and people had just left cardboard boxes and other stuff lying beside them. I had a very good holiday and the area was really quiet and peaceful despite most of the surrounding houses being occupied. I would recommend Burnside House.
