Enjoyable holiday in this well equipped house in Boat of Garten.

Its wonderful location was excellent for travelling around this beautifully scenic area. The enclosed back garden was ideal for our wee dog and we loved viewing the wonderful birdlife there.

Myself and my wife are pensioners and we booked a stay here for a week, the property was as stated but the furniture was awful absolutely no comfort at all.

We actually went home a day early as our backs were killing us and looking back at the reviews for the past 3 years or so everyone is saying the same thing.

Great place to stay and lots to do near the accommodation

Nice modern bungalow, warm and comfortable in the main but some improvements could be made, found the sofas in the lounge slightly uncomfortable and the cushion backs slipping down constantly, also requested the zip & link bed but where the mattresses joined it was raised and uncomfortable if you rolled over.

Nothing to do with the owners but the people next door with the adjacent drive had 3 to 4 vehicles and one was being left right opposite the drive to Skoglendi making it difficult to get off the drive.

We had a wonderful stay at Skoglendi.

We found it to be spotlessly clean with every convenience that we required. Quiet and private. Super comfy beds, powerful showers, amazing underfloor heating and our dog Alfie just loved the enclosed garden. We absolutely will recommend this property to our family and friends and it's definitely on our 'return to' list next time we're holidaying in the Highlands. Many thanks

Great location, dog walks everywhere and a few on your doorstep.

Boat of Garten Community Cafe is a great walk and end of walk stop for a coffee and flapjack break, and loved the mixing with local community. Our third visit and will be here again next year.

We had a great stay at Skoglendi.

The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. My children liked the play park which was nearby. Boat of Garten Village was nice and quiet and not far from Aviemore. The village shop was well stocked and we enjoyed the Osprey Coffee House in the village too. The house was very well located for doing activities in the Cairngorm area.

Lovely cottage with superb secure garden for dogs.

Cottage in lovely quiet area but not isolated, within fairly easy walking distance of village centre & great forest walks virtually on doorstep where you can let your dog off the lead. Would love to stay here again.

A terrific stay at Skoglendi .

Wonderful walks just on the doorstep for our dog. A lovely sized secure back garden with access via the kitchen which was very well stocked with crockery and utensils. Only negative as others have mentioned is the settees in the living room, they were not comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and did many lovely walks, cycle trails and visits to other nearby villages .

We were very please with the property and its location, it was spacious with a good size rear garden.

The forest walks right on your doorstep were very useful that made it enjoyable especially for our Retriever Labrador. Once mastered the rooms underfloor heating system the property became most comfortable. Kitchen provisions were excellent. Our only surprise was that the lounge furniture had been over polished which made it difficult to sit comfortably but overall would consider returning to Skoglandi next year.

The situation is excellent with good access to places to visit while being quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. The house was lovely and well kitted out with everything we needed. A warm, welcoming home. As mentioned in other reviews, the couch was a wee bit uncomfortable but we put some mats on and that helped. I would have appreciated a curtain on the patio door as it made the kitchen feel a bit less cosy having such an expanse of black. It would also conserve energy. Thank you and we plan to visit again.

We really relaxed and enjoyed our two weeks at Skoglendi.

We found the location ideal right next to a beautiful pine forest where we walked the dog daily. The village has a lovely little well stocked shop and two good eateries. Close to the amenities of Aviemore and attractions of Cairn Gorm yet easy to head north - we had lots of fun days out. The property was warm, clean & comfortable, we felt very much at home.

Loved the accommodation great welcome pack nice area for walks with the dog saw deer and squirrels would definitely go again highly recommend

Overall the house was clean, comfortable and warm and everything worked well.

Location as also very good - in the countryside but still close enough to Aviemore shops. Settees were not the most comfy, but provided plenty of space.

My only fault was the settees which were quite slidey and not very comfortable, otherwise the whole cottage was lovely and the beds were very comfortable.

What a fabulous property!

We holiday around Scotland every year, and this is by far the best place we have ever stayed. There is nothing negative I could say at all. It was superbly equipped, exceptionally clean and welcoming.

Very fresh and clean.

Attractive, light and bright inside. Warmth was appreciated during a spell of cold north wind. Seating in living room rather unsupportive. Front door reluctant to shut properly without a heavy pull. We should have brought a supply of toilet rolls! A dust pan to go with the sweeping brush would be helpful, too. Overall the accommodation was great.

Comfortable bed, but settees were not. Well equipped and had everything you needed. It is somewhere where we would return too.

A guest book would be useful often you can pick tips from previous guests

The house itself is a very nice house.

Unfortunately it needs a major deep clean. We arrived to dirty floors, work tops covered in food crumbs, windows dirty, lots (lots) of pet hairs on rugs and floors and on bedding. Bedding left rolled up, not properly UK style made up beds. Dirty cutlery and crockery in cupboards and previous guests food detritus left in cupboards also. The sofa was also extremely uncomfortable and dirty. It could have been so pleasant but cleaning standards were not high. We will not be returning.

A lovely cottage, one of the best we’ve stayed in.

Very warm and comfortable and the owners were quick to sort out a very minor problem. Quiet location with good local amenities.Only criticism is the very slippery sofa which was not relaxing .

Skoglendi is by far the best property we have ever stayed in.

It is much bigger than the photographs suggest. The internal design is contemporary, with some high end and stylish extras. The location is perfect, with walks, a cafe, restaurant and village shop from the door step. Go to Nethy House for breakfast - delicious ! We really didn’t want to leave Skoglendi, but will definitely be returning. Thank you for an amazing holiday.

Nice quiet location with restaurant and pub short walk away, great base to explore local area with forest walks behind.

Great place to stay.

Was cold ln bedroom at night . Needed my hot water bottles. The glass in oven door needed a really good clean. Needed a new frying pan as well. Apart from these minor details it was very good value. Would go again.

The holiday was a very pleasant experience.

The distance to the village was exactly as described and the area is a good base for accessability to other locations. The villa is modern, clean and well equipped, the chairs in the kitchen were rather uncomfotable as were the sofas however this did not spoil the holiday and we would recommend this particular villa and area.

Not far to go for walks with the dog or sightseeing nearby. Enclosed garden was a bonus, nice eating out area too. We will definitely be back!

Excellent accommodation.

Spacious, comfortable and clean. Good amenities and kitchen (dishwasher/washing machine/microwave and oven all easy to use). Great location, both for local walks but also to explore further afield. Underfloor heating kept the property snug despite -7C temperatures outside. Secure garden perfect for the dog. EV Charging point available (7kW) and worked without difficulty. I do suggest a bigger snow shovel in winter though!

The cottage is very cosy and lot of walking trails on the door step.

A lot of hiking trails as well within 10 to 15 mins drive. Looking forward to coming back to this cottage again in autumn.

This is a great property in a fantastic location for access to walks of all levels and places of interest.

This is the second time we have been here and would happily come back again.

We found the settees uncomfortable to sit on for long periods, as my husband has a back problem.

...not very comfortable, cushions kept sliding off along with bodies. Otherwise very good. Unsure of the neighbours, didn't seem too friendly and perhaps they are not so keen on having a holiday let next door?

Lovely cottage in a beautiful quiet spot.

Loads of walking trails back onto the forrest right next to it as well as a brand new skate/bike park. Garden not overlooked at all which was a great plus. Cottage was clean, tidy and comfortable. The owner was very kind and helpful.

Large enclosed garden. Very short walk to park and woodland walks. Quiet residential area. Boat of Garten is a great base to explore from.

Very clean and accurately described property situated in a quiet area with off-road parking for 2 cars.

Good points - everything worked, great wi-fi, comfy beds and patio door from kitchen to garden was great. Only minor irritation was the kitchen chairs, very noisy when moved

My only negative ( and it's a small one ) is that the living room sofas are a little uncomfortable because of the shiny surfaces. Some soft cushions would help.

What a wonderful place, couldn't have asked for more!

Perfect location for walking/cycling straight from your doorstep and only a short drive to wonderful hikes and views. The property is finished to a high standard, the kitchen is very well stocked; it has everything we needed. It was comfortable and nicely decorated, with the bonus of an electric vehicle charger in the driveway! We'll be recommending to friends and will be back!

Skoglendi is welcoming and warm.

The rooms are a nice size and cosy. It is well equipped, everything worked and it was spotless. The handbook was clear and helpful. It is located in a quiet spot in a lovely village with an amazingly well stocked village shop and a good restaurant within easy walking distance. We made good use of the local and surrounding trails both on foot and bike. We were very impressed to find a charging point for an electric car and the garden shed was a good space for locking bicycles. Everything was thoughtfully done and equipped. Spent a very pleasant and restful week. We would definitely recommend Skoglendi and happily return again.

Lovely location. Very clean and everything we needed.

The bungalow is superior in most ways .

The cleanliness was excellent and the equipment was good. However the seating was uncomfortable to say the least. Numb bums all round!! Sliding of the surface was not a good sign. The area is brilliant and the exploring was really good. A lightweight duvet would have been appreciated as the home was very warm at night.

It was a fantastic location and a place we would wish to revisit.

Enjoyed the spacious garden and barbecue. Spectacular walks in the adjoining forests with superb flora and fauna. The weather was pleasant and the heather on the moor was vivid purple. A trip to Loch Garten is a must to see the Ospreys!

Excellent cottage with good kitchen appliances and utensils.

A private and dog secure garden with seating area and summerhouse. Cottage is in a great position for lots of walks and cycles in the nearby forest straight from the door. Only problem the double bed is not so comfy and very soft pillows.

Very clean and super warm (it snowed).

Kitchen is well stocked with pans and utensils. Garden is genuinely dog proof, high fence, no gaps and great woodland walks from the door. Boat of Garden has both a pub and a good restaurant, 5 minutes walk from Skoglendi. Found the double bed a bit firm, but the twin singles are much softer.
