The Old School Bike Shed

This was my second time staying at the old bike shed & it was lovely to be back & met up with the owners again.

Can’t thank them enough for all they do to make the stay so stress free, they really do think of everything with the little touches. Many thanks for a wonderful relaxing stay & thankyou again for helping me out when my van broke down. Best regards Angie , Shetland.

What a wonderful place to stay.

On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Martin and Maggie and a very generous welcome pack. The accommodation is very well thought out and is like home from home. Overall, fantastic hosts, great accommodation and lovely peaceful location.

Gem of a place.

Compact but everything thoughtfully planned so our stay was perfect. Comfy bed and super well equipped bathroom with constant hot water Lots of extras provided by our lovely hosts who were ready to answer any queries but didn't intrude

Maggie and Martin are wonderful hosts, the accommodation was 5*.

Maggie had hidden little treats around the Bike Shed which were lovely and very thoughtful. They are based in beautiful pastures and nature on your doorstep. Farmshops and Coffee shops 1st class. Martin and Nafgie had waks and maps, library and games all necessaties 1st class. Thank you both for a wonderful memorie.5*.

gorgeous place and great hosts

A lovely cottage just off the beaten track down a lane in Dykehead.

Hosts we lovely had a chat to them when we arrived and found the cottage with a lovely welcome pack. The shower is something again. The internet was hit and miss on the phones but the laptop worked fine. We know the area very well having been up that way to Aberfoyle more than 12 times so we were able to go to our number one pun THE LADE INN at Kilmahog which is just under 30 mins away well worth going food is brilliant and a family run pub as well .

Martin and Maggie are the best hosts we have ever met.

The property is fantastic with all amenities included. There is a lovely walk in shower as well along with a bath and all you need. The place is nice and warm in a very peaceful location. Everything you may need is included from towels to bedding there is even a coffee machine and we also got a welcome pack ie bread, butter, biscuits, eggs and even a bottle of wine and much more. There is also a freezer in a small attached building along with vacuum cleaners. Myself and my wife along with our springer spaniel enjoyed every minute of our stay here. We will return again and thank you so much for a wonderful holiday.

A great place to stay, perfect for visiting the Trossachs, especially if you enjoy walking & nature.

The Old School Bike Shed is quite simply great.

One of the best Sykes cottages we've stayed in. Had everything we need plus more! Maggie and Martin had thought of everything! The welcome pack was much appreciated and delicious!

This was our second memorable visit to the bike shed because we enjoyed our first visit so much - not much more needs to be said about what we thought of the excellent facilities that were maintained.

We had a wonderful break.

Slept very well and felt well and truly rested. Maggie and Martin were very thoughtful. Everything was exceptional. We loved the walks and had a lovely trip to the Inchmahome priory. We were lucky enough to see the Osprey across the lake. Callender as always has fabulous walks and wonderful food. Aberfoyle is also great for walking and bird spotting. Would definitely recommend. Ideal for two adults. Thank you again Maggie and Martin.

Make you feel so welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to die for. Some fabulous places to visit all within easy reach we loved it would recommend this cottage to anybody looking for a beautiful relaxing place to visit Malcolm and Sue

A delightful cosy hideaway set in peaceful, rolling countryside with scenic walks on the doorstep and beautiful lochs and villages to explore in the surrounding area.

Immaculately presented with so many thoughtful touches. The owners are wonderful, very helpful and friendly yet unobtrusive.

Had a very pleasant week's stay at the Old School Bike Shed.

The accommodation is very comfortable and was to our delight well stocked with milk, bread and a wide variety of jams, honey, tea and coffee. There was also a bottle of wine and homemade shortbread to greet us. Martin and Maggie the owners were very welcoming and had a lot of good tips of places to visit.

The old school bike shed has been perfectly converted into a peaceful two person dwelling enhanced by its location in beautiful scottish countryside.

Lovely hosts who instantly made us feel welcome. The Old Sciool Bike Shed is extremely comfortable and a great place to stay. We couldn't fault it. Future holiday accommodation anywhere has a lot to live up to! Thank you.

A lovely place run by very nice people.

Extremely quiet. Of course it's a little bit in the middle of nowhere but on the other hand it is surrounded by lots of nice places to visit and that can be reached within half an hour. Excellent place for happy vacation.

Stayed for a week in July and received a warm welcome from Martin and Maggie.

The bike shed had everything we needed and more. We were left a fab food package , Wine even some delicious homemade shortbread. We had a very relaxing time away so peaceful. Highly recommend .

A gem and enjoyably different experience.

Made a couple of pensioners feel like teenagers again. Quite wonderful to have everything you need at a couple of arns length....I took the measurements to build my own!!! Loved it.

Better than a Hotel ,The Bike Shed ,Dykehead ❤️❤️❤️❤️ We spent a brilliant week away for our 50th anniversary and my 70th birthday, at the Bike Shed .

Maggie and Martin are a lovely couple nothing was to much trouble ,we got left a loaf ,bottle of wine ,coffee's, tea bags ,bottle of milk .We were so comfy there and the shower is better than the one we have at home. We loved it around there but I must admit the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies were my favourite

What a fantastic property.

We have stayed in cottages previously but this is by far the best we have stayed in and you would not find a better place nor hosts. Maggie and Martin are excellent hosts and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We were so sorry to have to leave and would not hesitate to return. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed his stay and Maggie and Martin have made their garden very secure and dog friendly. Altogether a great experience in a beautiful location.

Lovely peaceful location, a perfect cottage for a romantic short break for two - plus dog!

Martin and Maggie were outside to welcome us they are friendly people and said they were there if I we required anything just give us knock, they were never inclusive but good to know that they were on hand should we require any thing.

We were very comfortable and highly recommend them.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Bike.

As other guests have mentioned, the WiFi is a little slow, but this didn't bother us - we weren't in that often! The surrounding area is amazing so the Old Bike shed is perfectly situated for exploring Loch Lomond and the Trussochs. The welcome goodies were amazing - especially Maggies homemade shortbread! Maggie and Martin made us feel so welcome with extra touches like homemade shortbread and wine provided for us. The house was spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed to cook. We loved the bath and the huge comfy bed. The only thing we'd point out is that the wifi is quite slow so maybe not good enough for video calls etc., but is just about enough to stream a movie. Looking forward to returning!

Martin and Maggie welcomed us when we arrived and offered help if we had any problems.

The Bike shed is comfortable and situated in a lovely part of the Trossachs. We had a lovely time there and the homemade shortbread was lovely! Thank you.

Fantastic location, wonderful hosts and great self catering venue.

We were well looked after and found the location perfect for walking, paddle boarding and exploring the area. Maggie and Martin could not have been any more helpful and considerate. A lovely little gem and we are very likely to go back.

Fantastic accommodation for couples or a single person.

Welcome pack, books and maps, all carefully thought out. Lots of windows make it a light room, along with providing lovely views. The hosts are very welcoming and can provide great local knowledge for anything you need.

Me and my partner stayed at the bike shed from the 19th March for a week and we had a wonderful stay, weather was a massive bonus.

We seen Maggie and Martin on arrival and they are the most wonderful couple, very helpful and so friendly really made us feel welcome. The bike shed is clean and has a lovely comfortable bed. The bathroom is great and has a very good shower and bath. It also has the facilities needed for a self catering stay, Although there is no full oven it does have 2 hobs and a combi microwave oven to use which was fine for us. Maggie and Martin provided the most amazing welcome pack..we were over the moon and very appreciative, Maggies short bread was gorgeous.The bike shed is in a great location, lovely and quiet, waking up to the views was amazing. Short drive to Aberfoyle for any shops and restaurants, also short drive to any walking trails in the area and there are plenty of walking or cycling trails to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the area. We will definitely be back to explore more of the surrounding areas and will definitely choose the old school bike shed. Would definitely recommend. A Very Warm welcome from Maggie & Martin, Enjoyed a wonderful relaxing 2 week break.

Lovely open views from the large windows. Cozy accommodation, Nice bathroom. Cooking facilities are adequate with a bit of planning, maybe an extra saucepan & a bit more freezer space would be handy, however there are good meals to be had whilst out & about, you're on holiday afterall. Thank You both very much, oh & how could i forget Maggies short bread & welcome pack, very welcoming & after a long drive saves having to dash to the shops. Best wishes for the future. Fantastic place with lots of beautiful scenery.

Small but super tidy and comfortable. Can go for a little walk around the Bike Shed and visit those little goats, very refreshing. And the best part, Maggie and Matin are the loveliest people you could ever meet.

This is a wonderful accommodation.

Great hosts in Maggie and Martin. A very fulsome welcome pack. Thankyou. We cycle and found the venue ideal for access to tracks and trails. The pictures of the venue show exactly what is available. One large extremely comfortable very well equipped room with lovely bathroom and brillant shower and bath. The TV was not important to us and although we followed the instructions it did not work. I'm sure our hosts would have helped but the issue was not important for us. Maggie provided exquisite shortbread; the whole experience gets a thumbs up from us. Highly recommend it.

Teriffic accommodation, very comfortable & clean, the owners were very friendly & supplied us with a breakfast hamper that lasted the week.
