Thorneydyke Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage in Stirling.

The location was fantastic and made it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area, with places such as Loch Lomond and Edinburgh within easy reach. The cottage itself was beautiful, comfortable and a lovely place to come back to after a day of exploring. Wendy was a fantastic host — so attentive, welcoming and thoughtful, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a lovely place to stay in Stirling and would happily return!

Beautiful house and lovely hosts.

We had a great week exploring the local area and beyond. House was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

Thorneydyke cottage was excellent, it exceeded our expectations, the location is perfect, very peaceful but close to lots of attractions such as Stirling Castle, the Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel, not to mention wonderful countryside.

The cottage is very well equipped and Wendy and Graham perfect hosts. Would most certainly recommend this cottage.

This cottage is top class.

This is one of the very best cottages that we have holidayed at, and we have been to lots each year. The high specification used throughout on all furniture and appliances makes this a luxurious place to stay. It's in a peaceful location, yet very handy for access to major roads for getting about. We really recommend Thorneydyke Cottage very, very highly.

We LOVED our stay at Thorneydyke!

Wendy and Graham are lovely hosts, very helpful and kind, but not intrusive. The area was perfect, we had so many wonderful days out within an hour's drive. Sylvester the cat was a regular visitor and loved a good fuss (outside of course) much to our kids delight! The house was really well equipped and had everything we needed and wanted. The local wildlife and views were lovely to watch and see. We can't recommend this place enough, we loved it!

It was very clean, fresh and comfortable. Very quiet location within a farm setting and Stirling onky five to ten minutes away by car. It is an excellent location to go exploring the area with a very relaxed and pleasant home to come back to.

We arrived to a warm welcome and cottage.

Nicely thought out, it was warm and comfortable. On my first morning, I saw swallows dancing, deer running, hares sunbathing and wrens singing. I really liked sitting outside and listening to the birds, sheep and horses. Plean country park is well worth a wander, and the coffee from the van in the car park is very good. Quite close to Stirling, you do need a car, but could maybe walk to a bus stop if you are fit? We would definitely stay there again. The owner is on hand, and is very helpful, should you need assistance.

Lovely, cosy cottage.

Very comfortable and clean. Owners were friendly and welcoming. Great for visiting Stirling and the castle, the Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel, also Edinburgh and Loch Lomond. We had a lovely week.

We had a lovely family holiday in Stirling.

The Cottage is cosy and in the perfect location. Wendy has been so welcoming and helpful. It has been perfect for a week of rest and exploring. We really enjoyed Brianland farm, our visit to Plean Country Park and quick visit to Edinburgh Castle. There's still so much more to see in the area, so we'll definitely be back and recommending to friends and family. Thank you for such a peaceful and friendly, welcoming stay!

Perfect location for a peaceful getaway or as a base for seeing the sights.

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, very spacious and incredibly equipped with everything you’ll need for a home away from home stay. We literally couldn’t fault a thing. Plus the owner was on hand if needed and full of regional knowledge to enhance your stay.

Had everything we could need. Great location not too far from lots of attractions. Wendy and Graham were friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

A handsome and very well maintained cottage in a lovely, quiet, rural location, yet a real route centre.

Everything looked very new and clean with a very modern kitchen, bathroom etc. and Wendy was helpful in helping us settle in and navigate the roadworks (May 25 - finished soon). What a lovely area. The Kelpies and Boat Lift we knew about - both fab - but Stirling was a revelation. The Castle is superb and the dramatically sited town is full of beautiful and historic things. The Wallace Monument, Linlithgow Palace and Town and Bridge of Allan (smaller) are well worth a visit, and it was a very full and enjoyable week. We'll be back.

What a beautiful cottage a credit to Wendy and Graham who are the perfect host we would definitely visit again if we visit Scotland so much to see the cottage is a perfect base .

We had a brilliant week at Thorneydyke and it is perfectly placed to explore by car or by train to a wide variety of places.

We spent a 14-day family holiday at Thorneydyke Cottage.

We wanted to get to know Scotland without a round trip. We were simply thrilled! The cottage is beautiful, furnished with great attention to detail, nothing is missing. The landlords are very nice and very helpful. We were welcomed with flowers and chocolate at Easter time. They always had an open ear for our questions and gave us lots of tips. The location is perfect for excursions. There is a lot to discover in the immediate vicinity, but Glasgow, Loch Lomond and Edinburgh are also within easy reach. You can even get to the Highlands in 1.5 to 2 hours. We couldn't have found it any better. A clear recommendation!!!

Superb holiday cottage.

Highly recommended. Great location to explore the hills and nearby Stirling and Edinburgh. Our hosts were lovely. The cottage was immaculate and comfortable. The country park three minutes away was great for our children.

Everything we wanted in Scottish break.

Comfort, cleanliness, welcoming and friendly hosts, peaceful and beautiful location, yet convenient for a host of attractions that abound. Also, just 10 minutes from my young sons house !!

My husband grew up in this area and this cottage was ideally suited for our Christmas and New Year holidays visiting with family.

Very tranquil and peaceful, ideal rural setting yet close to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The cottage was wonderful, exceptionally clean and very well maintained.

Everything was in very good condition. We felt very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, we didn't miss anything. We would particularly like to emphasize the friendly and courteous manner of Wendy. Even a late arrival was no problem. The location is very good for visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh, Sterling, Falkirk and the Trossachs.

This was one of the best cottages I have stayed in.

Spotlessly clean everything you could need. Ideal location for all the attentions Edinburgh loch Lomond Glasgow within a hour by car. Stirling was a lovely shops bars and lovely restaurants. Would recommend this cottage to anyone on my list to return.

Even better in person than we expected, very clean, and the hosts were so kind and helpful. The location was peaceful but still close to many different towns and activities nearby, and we had an incredible stay.

The cottage can easily cater for four guests so being there just by two was an absolute luxury!

Lots of space, large living room and kitchen, two bedrooms (we just needed one) and lots of peace and quiet. Friendly owners who gave us invaluable advice on how to best get to Edinburgh. We loved our stay there! Just one piece of advice: Try to avoid parking your car under the tree, the birds are most productive.
