  • "The property feels unifinished - a good start but more to be done."

Having benches instead of dining chairs is uncomfortable. There are no coffee tables to put drinks on in the lounge, and a few small rickety tables that can be moved. There was one small rickety desk but no suitable chair to use with it so we had to buy one. The bedroom doors rattle in the wind, so we had to buy doorstops to sleep at night. The bedside lights in the main bedroom are only controllable from one side. We had to phone about the wifi when we arrived, and were told to turn it off and on - apparently a known problem. The kitchen lights only stayed on for about 30 seconds - but only at night. We phoned twice, and it'll get looked at after we're gone. We had to phone as the heating stopped working - an engineer came round and fixed it, saying he thought it was an electrical problem. On the last night the downstairs bed broke, with one person in it. They had to sleep the rest of the night on the sofa. There's no outside table (there are chairs), and tea/coffee/milk pods would be welcome on arrival. The listing for the house says one parking space, and I couldn't get any more information before arrival. There are none- and a lot. It's free parking in the road and we didn't have a problem with it. The location is excellent - less that five minutes to pub/takeaways / shops / beach. The kitchen is well equipped with an excellent fridge freezer and oven/microwave/hob, it must have been expensive. It was easy to get through on the phone, although it's not handled by Sykes directly which we've had issues with in the past, but by a subsidiary. Overall a mixed bag. We wouldn't return with the house in its current condition.
