  • "Just returned from 5 very happy and comfortable days at Lavender House."

Ideal for two families over the carnival weekend. Thank you

  • "Lovely house."

Very comfortable lounge furnishings especially the leather chair which I claimed! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would expect in your own home. The various food stuffs in the cupboard was a nice touch.A lovely big table should the house have more guests. The beds were very comfortable and lots of pillows and cushions available if you needed them. My only observation would be no hanging place for clothes in the main bedrooms. A rack of pegs with hangers would be easy to put up and solve the problem. A very practical garden with a good sized table and comfortable chairs plus space to kick a ball for my grandson’s. The BBQ was a good addition although we didn’t use it. All in all it felt very home from home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend.

The property

Occupying an enviable location close to the beach and town centre of Aldeburgh in Suffolk, Lavender House is a spacious and well-presented holiday home, which is ideal for a family holiday.

The owners have meticulously combined original features with all the mod cons any discerning traveller would expect.

The inviting sitting room welcomes guests in with an extensive seating area, feature wood flooring, a delightful window seat and an attractive open fire, where you can imagine gathering together to enjoy happy holiday times.

There is a separate sitting area with a well-positioned armchair which is just made for curling up with a book and relaxing into your holiday.

The impressive kitchen/diner is especially spacious and has a fully fitted kitchen with everything needed for creating hearty food for the whole family and has a stylish dining area, which is ideal for coming together and enjoying long, lazy meals.

Should the Suffolk sun be shining down, the garden offers a great space to spend time alfresco, so while the children and any pets can run around the lawns, the adults can pull up a chair, pour a glass of their favourite tipple and relax.

After a hard day of getting out and about exploring, you’ll no doubt be tired, so the grown-ups can choose from two immaculately presented double bedrooms with the kids being treated to a cool children’s bedroom, complete with two double bunk beds and even a mini pool table.

Lavender House is superbly located just a short walk from the shingle beach and the shops, galleries, boutiques and eateries of Aldeburgh, so is well worth spending some time.

Head off for a day out to attractions such as Easton Farm Park, Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, Framlingham Castle, RSPB Minsmere and Sutton Hoo.

Towns worth a visit include Southwold, Thorpeness, Saxmundham, Westleton and Halesworth.

Take a hike and head out anywhere within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths region, which has been designated an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, so you’re sure to get some great photo opportunities along the way.

For a delightful holiday the whole family can enjoy, a trip to Lavender House is well worth it.

About the location

ALDEBURGH

Thorpeness 2.1 miles; Saxmundham 7.2 miles.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!
