  • "A spacious and comfortable holiday home ."

    Great location, parking a little tight if you have a larger car , we did not have an issue being January and only 1 other bay was taken .

  • "The property itself was great very spacious and comfortable."

    The kitchen however requires an extra cupboard as nowhere to store food that doesn’t go in the fridge. Also could do with a new set of crockery and glasses as they were somewhat mismatched with chips. Also the light in the hallway needed replacing which looking at other reviews had been like that for sometime. A few improvements would make a big difference to this overall very nice property.

  • "Wonderful holiday stay right by the beach and shops."

    Modern and comfortable interior, with excellently equipped kitchen. One small request would be for some shampoo bottle shelves at an accessible height in both showers, our 87-year-old mother in law (for whom the property was ideal in every other way) found it a struggle without them. Also the shower doors didn’t seem to close properly in the en-suite. Also a stock of spare lightbulbs would be useful, one of the bedrooms needed one swapping out. Apart from these small issues it was wonderful and we’d definitely consider returning.

  • "This is a lovely property which we have stayed in before but this time was disappointing."

    There are several light fittings without bulbs that were too high for us to replace. No main light in the hall made the apartment feel rather dingy. The mirror lights don’t work in either of the bathrooms. The pendant light in the double room was so dim it was ineffective. There were no spare rubbish bags, no kitchen roll and just 2 dishwasher tablets supplied all of which we have bought and left at the property for the next visitors to enjoy. I appreciate that these items don’t have to be included but when you are paying £1800 for a week’s stay it felt rather mean.

  • "We were generally comfortable but some small changes would have enhanced our stay."

    A full length mirror somewhere and a plug socket near a mirror for hairdrying in the main bedroom. No toilet roll holder in the main bathroom. Both shower doors didn't fit properly.

  • "Nice flat well equipped, all on one level and close to all amenities (shops, restaurants, pubs and sea front) private parking which is fantastic especially on a busy weekend in Aldeburgh."

  • "Skimming Stones is a large apartment in a great location, very close to the High Street at the South end of Aldeburgh."

    Being on the ground floor in a built up area, it doesn't have views from any of the rooms. The beds were comfortable and the living/dining room was good. The bathrooms were great and there was plenty of hot water. The underfloor heating (in December/January) was hopeless, so we had to use the fan heater if we wanted to warm a room. The lighting was strange in that there are plenty of lights in the lounge/dining/kitchen but many of them barely give off a glow. I think they must be old low energy bulbs nearing the end of their life. It is a reasonable property, but there are much better places in Aldeburgh if you book well in advance.

  • "Lovely comfortable and well kept ground floor flat very near sea front and high street."

    Perfect four night stay for four sisters. Good restaurant five minutes walk away on sea front. Parking space very tight but plenty of on street space available.

  • "This was our fourth time in Skimming Stones, it suits us as it is all on one level, there is secure parking and it’s really handy for the town, walks along the front and all it’s amenities."

    We’ve used Best of Suffolk so many times I can’t remember, so I think it speaks for its self! Website is brilliant, we had an issue with the dishwasher whilst we were there this time and it was dealt with in know time.

  • "Enjoyed our two week stay very much indeed."

    Plenty of space and very comfortable beds. We had a couple of issues - (1) with a shower door in the main bathroom and (2) with the handle on the door to the ensuite bathroom and were impressed as both were fixed the day after the problems were reported to Best of Suffolk. However, we couldn’t understand why the owners hadn’t replaced a hanging wardrobe which had a missing top rail so couldn’t be used as expected. We did inform Best of Suffolk and hopefully it will be replaced. Pat

  • "Nicely furnished, comfortable apartment in an ideal location for both beach and town and would not hesitate to recommend."

    Would have been nice to have a few more basics provided though ie bath mats, tea towels, soap, condiments, spare loo rolls etc. and, as a group of 4 adults, could have done with a bit more crockery and cutlery. Overall though, very good.

  • "Generally the property was really nice and in a great location just off the High Street."

    We had a few issues, with the heating not working and the dishwasher breaking. The main being the heating; however I cannot fault how quickly Best of Suffolk jumped on this and got it resolved for us. The property owners were also very apologetic which we appreciated.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home.
