  • "Beautiful cleaning accommodation, owners very welcoming."

A little difficult to see sign for accommodation. May use what three words for others to find.

Thank you for your positive feedback. I will pass your recommendation to Best of Suffolk so that they can include this in the instructions. Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely few days, very wet."

Christine was brilliant, as the fridge/freezer stopped working and within a few hours another fridge freezer was in place. Benji loved the wooden area! Thank you.

  • "Owl Cottage is clean, comfy & cosy."

The weather wasn't great but when the sun shone we could sit in the garden or walk in the wood. Near the birds, it was really lovely.

  • "Lovely relaxing stay at Owl Cottage."

Hosts were friendly & accommodating. They made us feel welcome on arrival day! Perfect location to visit the area. Sitting in the garden and hearing the woods was perfect to relax. Enjoyed breakfast & dinner to the sounds of nature. Walk to the pub was easy & the wine was a welcome treat! Framlingham was nice to visit & the riverside walk in Woodbridge is recommended. "Great facilities (we found the gate!)."

  • "Had a lovely week."

Woods were great for the dog's. Footpath to the Chequers. Food is well worth the walk (not available every day). Found the Thomas café in Southwold great for lunch.

  • "Had a lovely few days."

Weather was fantastic, but little touches to property missing like salt n pepper mill, mop, clean kettle & toaster are nice touches for guests. Peacefully, host polite.

  • "A first visit for us to Suffolk and hopefully we will be back soon – and to Owl Cottage which was utterly delightful."

We cannot fault it and feel very lucky to have found it. We have loved every minute in the beautiful surroundings. We recommend Orford and the King's Head for lunch, Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and Sutton Hoo and of course the Chequers Pub just a short walk away and The Dancing Goat at Framlingham. Thank you Christine & Nigel for your kind welcome.

  • "We have had a most enjoyable week."

The cottage has everything we need and more. The setting in the bluebell wood is superb. So peaceful and so many bird songs – including tawny owls at night. A perfect location within our area of interest in Suffolk. Framlingham is a super village and the castle spectacular, also the adjacent mere. It was lovely to meet Nigel. The future of this lovely spot seems secure. Bye for now.

FRAMLINGHAM

Saxmundham 7.5 miles; Aldeburgh 14 miles; Southwold 20 miles

The beautiful market town of Framlingham is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and has been known since Anglo Saxon times, when it consisted of several manors which William the Conqueror presented to Roger Bigod. The town is of particular interest as it has a large castle and mere which was built between 1190 and 1210. The town is surrounded by lovely villages to explore and has two of the oldest working post boxes and one of Britain’s smallest houses, with the footprint measuring 6.1x2.2m! Today, the town offers a number of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and it is also home to Framlingham Summer Arts Festival.
