  • "Walnut Shade - The Annex is a real “hidden gem” with a warm and cosy feel, whilst being big enough to easily accommodate 4 people and Sirius the Cockapoo."

The property is situated in Old Buckenham which is within easy reach of Thetford Forest, Norwich, Cromer, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. The Annex has everything you need to enjoy your stay here. It is well equipped, clean and is a real credit to it’s owners. The weather was extremely kind to us and we made full use of the Annex patio area, relaxing in the sun or shade and eating as a family al fresco. Sirius the Cockapoo also loved sitting on the patio taking in the fresh Norfolk air & smells!!! WiFi went down a real treat with my son (12). The Village Green and Old Buckenham Country Park are right on your doorstep for walks with the dog or visiting 2 wheel Tuesday if you are a biker! Parking for 2 cars on the property as well was a Brucey bonus as Ben my partner was having to work during our stay. We also visited Centre Paws whilst we stayed here near Wymondham, I would highly recommended to let your furry friends run a mock and have a pup cake whilst you enjoy a coffee & home made cake. The Annex and Norfolk generally are very dog friendly we found we were welcomed with in most places. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, my mum enjoyed that The Annex was on one level and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit Norfolk or Suffolk.

..such a beautiful property with all amenities..and lovely special touches. The hosts have thought of everything to make for a great stay. Centrally located for places of interest and a beautiful village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone.

  • "Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and the property was spotless when we arrived."

We much appreciated the milk in the fridge, and the biscuits. There was a well supplied kitchen with plenty of pans and extas like a cake tray and cheese grater (the sign of a good holiday cottage!). We got caught out slightly by the fridge as in the door can only hold 2 pint bottles of milk, but we improvised and used the salad drawer for 4 pint bottles. The weather wasn't kind enough for us to be able to use the patio area, but there are comfy looking seats and a table, with a small awning over some of them. We had a great stay as the house is close (but not too close) to the A11 and therefore Norwich, Thetford etc. and Old Buckenham has its own windmill, castle and huge village green to explore.

  • "Great accommodation, well appointed, very clean with fantastic fixtures and fittings and great to be annexed to the owner's home."

Nice quiet location but centrally placed with good access to visitor attractions. I would comment that the description of 'enclosed garden' is somewhat misleading in regards to being dog friendly. Yes an enclosed area, but basically a paved patio area, rather than a garden that your pooch can run about in. Also if you want to make home cooked meals the cookware is a bit limited in terms of no microwave specific cookware and no non stick cooking pans. Having said that overall a great property!

  • "Walnut Shade exceeded our expectations!"

Perfect for the two of us and our dog with plenty of space and a safe enclosed courtyard. The beds are lovely and comfortable, there is a modern bathroom with bath and shower combined and the open plan kitchen/living room works well with comfortable armchairs beside the patio doors which open onto the courtyard with outside seating. The kitchen area is modern and well equipped, the hosts had even provided dogs bowls. 10 stars all round from us.
