  • "A wonderful retreat in beautiful Suffolk."

The accommodation had everything we needed, and it was so peaceful. We were able to visit lots of places, with coastal towns only 30 mins drive away. There were some lovely pubs nearby too. We will certainly return when we need some R&R in the future. Thoroughly recommend! Thank you

  • ". Lovely cottage with pretty much all you need for a holiday. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery, utensils and cooking equipment"

. A compact dishwasher was very useful. The mezzanine sleeping area is spacious with good lighting and the bed us comfortable. There is not sufficient storage for clothing and there is ample room for a chest of drawers, which would be very beneficial. We resorted to storing clothing on the floor of the cupboard under the stairs. The sofa is not particularly comfortable; the leather cushion covers are slippery and not supportive. The bathroom is large and features a large walk in shower with a good flow from the head. The free-standing bath is good looking but impractical as it is effectively too long and the ends far too narrow to sit or lie comfortably in. The WiFi was nonexistent during our stay and two calls to the Agent failed to resolve that. Mobile reception was poor, making it impractical to rely upon in the absence of WiFi.

Carriage House has been open since 2019, the usual feedback is very positive, so I am sorry you were not delighted. BT have been out and hopefully sorted the internet issues. Property Owner

  • "Lovely, peaceful and comfortable place to stay in tranquil surroundings."

Ideally located for cycling (on the national cycling network), both locally and to the coast. Short and easy drive from places of interest, such as Sutton Hoo and Orford Ness. Very well-equipped cottage and secluded yard/patio to sit out. Adjacent lawns and beautiful mature trees to provide shade. Felt safe to park a bicycle outdoors even when not at the cottage. Hit a heatwave so the bedroom loft was very warm but a fan was provided and it was safe and quiet to have windows open. Only slight downside was a noisier-than-usual fridge (the cottage is open plan so could hear it overnight) but think there might be an issue with the fridge door closure so will report this separately.

Thank you so much for your feed back, I will certainly look into the fridge door not closing properly all the time. Many thanks. Property Owner

  • "We absolutely enjoyed our stay."

Carriage House converted barn was lovely set in a beautiful area. We met a couple of the neighbours who had three dogs. They were very friendly and told us about the area and good restaurants. It was so peaceful just what we were after. All the facilities were great. Everything we needed was there. It might have been nice just to meet the owners at some stage The only thing we hadn’t realised was how open the garden was. Luckily I didn’t take my little dog in the end. We just took my boyfriends older dog who sleeps most of the time. Fantastic stay would certainly book again. Thank you.

The bathroom in particular was spectacular and even the shampoo/shower gels left for us were high quality. We were staying in Bruisyard for a wedding so didn’t get to spend too much time in the house but we both said how we’d happily come back and stay in the same property if we were ever in Bruisyard again!

  • "Fabulously quiet, peaceful and relaxing."

Surroundings are brill, outside patio is great to sit and watch/listen to nothing but birds and the countryside. Clean and modern albeit all-in-one loft living/eating/sleeping space which whilst not ideal for me, not a drama. One thing might be worth remedying ( with some form of cushioning device) is the low stair stringer rail in the living area which for anyone over 6’ 2” forgetting that it’s low after a few Vinos can be a pain after several times banging head and poking oneself in the eye! Just worth a mention. Overall a lovely place in a great location and I will definitely go back.

It is located in a rural location in the stunning Suffolk countryside and is very peaceful. It is so lovely to sit outside and listen to the birds and also do a jigsaw indoors on a rainy day. The cottage is in an excellent location close to many nature reserves, beaches and heaths as well as quality eating pubs and restaurants for a treat. We had a truly special holiday and hope to stay again in the future. Thank you! :)

The town is of particular interest as it has a large castle and mere which was built between 1190 and 1210. The town is surrounded by lovely villages to explore and has two of the oldest working post boxes and one of Britain’s smallest houses, with the footprint measuring 6.1x2.2m!
