  • "Lovely cosy cottage in ideal location for exploring Southwold."

Could always do with an extra clean sometimes just to get rid of cobwebs and dust.

  • "The Smokehouse is a lovely little holiday cottage which was very clean and nicely furnished with pretty decor - thank you for the wine and treats!"

The neat little kitchen had everything we needed and more and the cooker was nice and easy to use on occasions. Considering its location and it being both close to the town and the beach, the house was amazingly quiet and peaceful - just what we wanted for a week away from home. Southwold is a pretty town with nice shops, restaurants, delicious fish and chips and lots of good walks nearby. Fabulous week.

  • "This is a fantastic property, really well situated within Southwold, close to the beach and the high street, plenty of on-street parking, and an electric car charging point literally just around the corner!"

The interior was great - really fresh and light decor, good quality towels and a spacious bathroom. Good quality wifi, a well-thought out amenities folder and a smart TV were all a boon. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch, with really well-chosen treats and a good bottle of wine. Only some tiny points to consider: the crockery seemed a little limited (e.g. just four mugs) and we expected to find a few pods for the coffee machine (they were easy to buy in the town though). We would definitely book this place again.

  • "It was not clear that you had to walk through the second bedroom to get to the bathroom."

Also the main bedroom was open plan immediately at the top of the stairs and you had to walk through that to get to the second bedroom and through that to the bathroom

  • "A lovely cottage that has everything we look for."

Near the beach, near the pub, an enclosed rear garden, plenty of parking options. Perfect. The property is well equipped, super clean, warm and comfortable.

  • "Had an excellent stay and the property was great."

Unfortunately there was no welcome pack as mentioned in the details and some of the cleaning could have been better. There was some dust on top of items in the bathroom and our dog was desperate to get under the sofa where we found a discarded Malteser and this looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. However please note that this did not detract from our enjoyment of the property or our holiday.

  • "Excellent in every way from position in the town to cleanness to decoration."

The only improvement would be if the double bed cover could be larger.

  • "Yes, the cottage is delightful very comfortable and well equipped."

The only problem I experienced was I could not open the door to the utility cupboard one day, had to ring the emergency line only to be told it wasn’t classified an emergency and so no one could sort it til the next day. I had washing that needed to be hung out. And in the end got a man from the Addams factory next door to help me. Could you please notify the housekeeper of this. It was extremely stressful at the time. Thanks. Alison

The house is in the perfect location a short walk to the beach and town. It was incredibly clean and comfortable. Lots of lovely touches - including a welcome bag of goodies which we really enjoyed. We look forward to booking and coming back next year! Thank you;)
