Description

This lovely, detached studio-style property sits in the extensive grounds of the owner’s home in the village of Ninfield near Battle.

Light, bright and beautifully furnished, this self-catering holiday home provides couples with the perfect place to relax whilst still being able to enjoy the many interesting things to see and do in rural Sussex.

The spacious open plan studio, accommodating the bedroom and sitting area, has lots of windows that not only allow in plenty light, but also open up the wonderful views over the well-maintained gardens and surrounding woodlands.

Just outside is a well-placed bench, so why not sit a while, listen to the birdsong and let your eyes gaze across the landscape down to the distant shore?

Stepping back inside, Standard Hill Cottage has a separate, well-equipped kitchen with a cosy dining area, ideal for a shared breakfast with someone special, then up a step into the large bedroom with lots of comfy seating and an electric woodburner-style stove.

Plenty of wooden pieces in the studio have been created from felled trees on the owner's land, including the handy bench where you can lace up your boots before setting off across the fields towards Norman's Bay or Battle.

Why not take a good walk along the footpaths that criss-cross the countryside, building up an appetite for a tasty barbecue when you get back to the cottage?

Standard Hill Cottage is a romantic retreat offering a taste of rural life, a well-located touring base, and a perfect place to unwind.

Lovely cottage and owner.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Large garden with outside seating and friendly horse in paddock next to it. Good location for sight seeing. We enjoyed our stay and would like to return as soon as much to see.

We found this converted outbuilding a delightful place for a couple to stay.

We were there during a heatwave and when the sun was too strong to go outside, we enjoyed sitting with the doors and windows open admiring the view across the rose garden. We found everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking evening meals and made good use of the grounds, going for strolls in the woods and sitting in the garden. Off road parking is also very convenient. The village is a good base for exploring by car, an easy drive to Battle, Hastings, Eastbourne and surrounding countryside.

De cottage is prima, met goed sanitair en keuken.

Alle apparaten en stopcontacten zijn met schakelaars op de muur aan of uit te zetten. Dus als je per ongeluk de schakelaar van de koelkast indrukt.....
