  • "We have stayed at The Old Granary before and would very happily stay again."

    It is very peaceful, very comfortable, well appointed with all we needed. The heating worked well and we were cosy. Birding through the stable door was a highlight. It is well placed for the coast and for various houses and reserves. A lovely place to stay - thank you.

  • "We were greeted on arrival by our host who was very friendly and helpful."

    The Old Granary is a great place as a base for the beautiful South Downs, it was quiet, so we got lots of welcome rest, the accommodation had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. Lots of eating places nearby if you don’t wish to cook yourself, although The Granary provides microwave, air fryer and hob if you do wish to cook for yourself. Good value. Would definitely recommend The Old Granary.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cozy cottage."

    It was an ideal base from which to explore the area in all directions. There were a few too many pillows in the bedroom. We would have appreciated some shelves in the wardrobe.

  • "The Old Granary is an absolute gem, beautifully restored, comfortable, and in a lovely, peaceful setting, with daffodils and birdsong."

    Flowers on the dining table and in the bedroom, an electric blanket, lovely big bath towels - if only all holiday rentals were to the same high, caring standard. We were househunting in Sussex, and the Old Granary was a wonderful relaxing oasis at the end of a tiring day. Liz and Tony are perfect hosts - welcoming, helpful, but never intrusive. Everything was lovely. Nothing we didn't like.

  • "A little disappointed."

    For a 5 star property little things were wrong eg not prepared for such low ceiling/beams in kitchen area: no welcome basket!! (Unusual): no tea towels: no heating in the bathroom. Upstairs lovely once heated up. Cleanliness and facilities very good. Tiny kitchen area - fine for breakfast, but dinners bit of a mission. All issues manageable, but as I said, disappointing.

    Dear Karen We apologise for the late response to your feedback - which of course we value. A few points. We provide fresh milk, fresh flowers, olive oil, butter, and a variety of teas and fresh coffee to all our guests. We used to provde more but so few actually used the items. I am sorry you could not find the tea towels - they were most definitely there. The towel radiator in the bathroom could also have been switched on. The kitchen is 'mini' - as can be seen clearly in the photos - but does include built-in cooking facilities and an air fryer; and I am sorry you felt the beams were low - I'm afraid this is not uncommon in old Sussex Barns.   • "A lovely cottage in which to relax and wind down."

    Very clean throughout. The main living space is on the first floor with log burner and comfortable seating. The bedroom, dining area, kitchen, and bathroom with excellent shower, are on the ground floor. It’s an ideal property from which to explore West Sussex and the south coast. The owners were very helpful and welcoming and I fully enjoyed my visit.

  • "A quaint old converted granary giving ideal accommodation for two people."

    Has a lovely upstairs living area in a lovely rustic style. This property is a great base to explore the surrounding area with many places of interest, from coast to countryside, and easily reachable within an hour or less travelling time. Also lots of pubs etc with good eating options within a ten mile radius.

  • "Very nice cottage in a peaceful location well kept, clean and tidy."

    The living room is an amazing space to relax. The kitchen was a little too basic and compact and would benefit from an oven rather than just a microwave/grill. Even though we like a firm mattress the bed was too firm for us. It’s all preference though and the area was beautiful with many paths to explore. Sadly when we visited the local pub had closed down.
