This bungalow is very quiet with views over fields to the sea.

It's very comfortable and very clean. The owners made us very welcome. Would definitely recommend.

We'd change nothing. The best night's sleep we've had in decades. The perfect base for exploring the area and also if you just fancy a warm and cosy day in with a cuppa, staring into the landscape. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. What's not to like? We're already planning our next visit.

Absolutely blown away by Rose Cottage and the surroundings.

A very warm welcome awaited us, with everything explained clearly. A welcome pack was provided, with everything that we might need and more! The cottage itself was as clean as we'd expect & very comfortable. The local wildlife is the only thing you'll hear - with the local A9 being far enough away as to not be in earshot. So much to explore locally, a week just wasn't long enough for us. We will be back. Highly recommended!

Rose cottage was more than we expected it was in beautiful settings so quiet and a short walk to the cliff tops .

The cottage was very clean and it had everything in it you would need for your stay. The owners John and Lorraine left us a small hamper when we arrived at the cottage which was a lovely bonus . The gardens were well maintained and a lovely place for you to sit in the summer evenings.. would definitely recommend Rose cottage..

This was our third visit to Rose Cottage.

Peaceful location, with two minute access to main road for travelling around. Cottage is a very high standard with everything you need and lovely views of countryside and sea. We will definitely be back to stay here.

Lovely welcome pack on arrival and the owners greeted us and showed us the cottage. The cottage was lovely and clean with everything we could need. The weather was a bit mixed but it didn’t ruin our holiday and it was nice to come back to the warm cottage. There’s a lovely beach with some great ruins within walking distance. We would love to come back to Rose Cottage again.

The generous welcome pack was lovely and much appreciated. Thank you John and Lorraine. We enjoyed visiting the surrounding area, towns and the lovely harbours nearby. The little cove just a short walk from the cottage was delightful. If I could suggest a small fan heater for the sun room to quickly heat it. Due to the cold we didn't really get to appreciate this lovely space. We were toasty warm in the rest of the property.

This is a fabulous cottage where the owners have thought of everything.

It is so cosy and welcoming and its situation makes it easy to tour the area. We have stayed here twice and looking forward to our third visit!

Had all the comforts of home, an ideal base for exploring the various attractions in the area. To be honest it was a real shame the day we had to leave such was how comfortable we felt. A short walk from the cottage brings you to a small private cove, very wet the day we went, but nevertheless enjoyable. Would highly recommend this cottage, you will not be disappointed

The property was very well equipped with everything you could need exactly where you expect it to be. Its location is perfect for that "quiet getaway" feel, and the decor fits perfectly with that relaxing vibe. The owners were friendly and helpful and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Even The Northern Lights showed up and put on a magnificent display right over the garden - although even Lorraine and John couldn't arrange that (probably!) It was a genuinely lovely week.

Location close to visiting place but also very quiet and perfect for a break outside busy cities. The garden was lovely and well maintained perfect for running around and playing with children. All in all this little gem offers a perfect place for relaxation and adventure is only a short drive away. The owners were also very nice and helpful, and there was a lovely welcome pack on arrival which was highly appreciated after a long drive up to the Highlands. I highly recommend it and we will definitely return in the future.

A lovely property, very comfortable and a real home from home.

The location of the cottage was fantastic with a lovely walk to the beach and a historic herring store from the cottage door. A great base for exploring this area of Scotland. The owners are great hosts, a lovely welcome pack and they are always on hand should you need anything, but you are left alone to enjoy your holiday. The sun room is a great place to spend the morning enjoying the sunrise, and watching the wildlife in the surrounding fields.

The cottage is located nicely for visits to John O'groats, Dunnet head, Duncansby Stacks, and many more, Would recommend Rose cottage for a lovely get away from it all holiday.

Rose cottage was extremely clean, well equipped and comfortable.

The shower is great! It is in a private and peaceful setting, with sea views. The owners were very friendly, and the welcome pack was very generous. The location of the cottage was ideal for exploring the north eastern part of Caithness. We had great weather for mid December, and had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

the northern lights were what we came up to see and we were not disappointed. The hosts were so helpful and was ab le to answer any questions we had. The gift pack on arrival was a nice surprise.

This is a beautiful cottage in a fabulous location.

Lots of places to visit all within half an hour of the cottage, many off the beaten track so read all the local tour guides. Only down side , no pub/ restaurant within walking distance, but 5/10min drive to a couple unfortunately due to time of year weren't yet open so can't reccomend any.

Peaceful location. Friendly hosts. Be aware that many tourist attractions in the area are only open in summer (April to September).

Our second time in Rose Cottage after staying in January.

Wanted to experience the long summer days which we got with some wonderful weather. The cottage itself is roomy and on one level, with wonderful views over the North Sea coast. Lovely owners who greeted us once again so thank you John and Lorraine for the warm welcome and very generous welcome pack

Loved the modern powerful shower. The owners were friendly and helpful and met us at the cottage to make sure we were ok. Fantastic spot to spend some time for relaxation or walking.

Having stayed in many cottages over Northern Scotland for the last 20 years I can safely say this was the best, so much so we re-booked it half way through the week for a week in July!

This is a beautiful one level stand alone bungalow which stands just half a mile from some fantastic cliff top views over the North Sea, with a winding path down to an isolated bay. The cottage is well equipped throughout with a lovely front section with wonderful views over the farmland and sea. Good sized bedrooms x 2 double and 1 x single and lovely bathroom which contains a good modern powerful shower. Nice garden areas surrounding the cottage which I am sure will be well appreciated during the summer months. We were welcomed by both John and Lorraine personally on arrival and were left a wonderful generous welcome pack to start the holiday. We look forward to our week in July

We were very happy and satisfied with this property, Rear fence was a little too near the living room windows, rather obstructing the outlook but overall had no complaints.
