Description
Old Distillery Lodge is a stylish, three-storey retreat situated in the heart of Kingussie, Highland.
Built in 2007, this spacious home offers off-road parking for six cars and welcomes two well-behaved dogs, making it an ideal haven for families or friends seeking a memorable escape amidst stunning Scottish landscapes.
Upon entering the property, you will be greeted by a spacious kitchen, fully equipped to cater to your culinary needs throughout your stay.
The utility room houses a washing machine, making it perfect for longer stays.
The dining room, with seating for up to 20 people, is ideal for hosting memorable meals with your loved ones.
After dinner, retire to one of the two sitting rooms; both boast a large TV for movie nights and board games aplenty. For those seeking some friendly competition, the games room, complete with a pool table and table tennis, is sure to provide hours of entertainment.
On the entrance level floor, there are two en-suite super-king rooms, both with zip-link beds so they can be twins on request. These are perfect for individuals wanting to spend their stay in comfort on the same level as the kitchen, dining room and primary sitting room.
On the first floor, there are two super-king rooms (both with zip-link beds so can be twins on request) with a shared bathroom, and a family room with an en-suite, with a super-king zip-link bed and a separate single bed in an adjoining room.
On the lower-ground-floor, there is a super-king room with a spacious en-suite bathroom, featuring a large walk-in shower, dual basins, WC and separate bath. There is also a second super-king en-suite family room, with twin beds (zip-link, so can be super-king on request).
In a separate annexe, known as ‘The Dog House’, above the garage, there is a first-floor super-king ensuite bedroom, with a walk-in shower, WC and basin.
All rooms have space for a cot, if required.
Outside, the enclosed garden with a lawn, patio, hot tub, and furniture provides the perfect spot for alfresco dining or a relaxing soak under the stars.
Reprieve back into the intriguing history of Highland life at the open-air Highland Folk Museum, offering a fascinating collection of architecture, artefacts, and demonstrations.
Venture slightly further afield and find yourself amidst the breathtaking Scottish landscapes of Rothiemurchus, a haven for wildlife and activities such as clay shooting, fishing, and treks through ancient Caledonian pine forests.
Should you wish to tour the region in style, a trip on the Strathspey Railway from Aviemore Station will transport you through the majestic Scottish scenery, whilst the thrill-seekers of the group might prefer an ascent into the treetops at TreeZone Aviemore, presenting two sets of exciting challenges set amongst towering pines and firs.
If you want to travel further afield, within an hour you can reach Blair Castle & Gardens, housing 700 years of Scottish history and hosting magnificent displays of antique furnishings and artwork, or head north to the bustling city of Inverness.

Fabulous house.
Plenty of space for our large, extended family. Spotlessly clean. Well equipped with everything we needed. Great quality dishes, pots, cutlery etc. Comfy, well used chairs and sofas . We all felt very relaxed and had a great holiday Great communication with the owner who replied quickly to any queries we had. Very highly recommended.
The property was amazing.
Rooms very spacious and mostly ensuite. Kitchen well equipped. There was a bit of an issue, but contacted dreamholidays, and they were dealing with it. We had an amazing time. There was champagne on arrival, which was a lovely touch, and as it was a special birthday for myself, this was a lovely surprise to us all. (Which the company didn’t know). Games room and hot tub went down well with everyone, but especially with the younger youths. Beautiful setting, close to the local hotels and shops. Walks close by, Cairngorms nearby also.
We had the most wonderful weekend in The Old Distillery Lodge celebrating a special family birthday.
We were a party of 15 and the accommodation was perfect. So spacious and so we'll equipped. With stunning views. Kingussie is a beautiful town with lots of lovely walks and so accessible to Aviemore where some of our young adults enjoyed fun activities. It really was a magical weekend suitable for our age range of 1 - 71! Thoroughly recommend this fabulous property.
