The property

Old Distillery Lodge is a stylish, three-storey retreat situated in the heart of Kingussie, Highland.

Built in 2007, this spacious home offers off-road parking for six cars and welcomes two well-behaved dogs, making it an ideal haven for families or friends seeking a memorable escape amidst stunning Scottish landscapes.

Upon entering the property, you will be greeted by a spacious kitchen, fully equipped to cater to your culinary needs throughout your stay.

The utility room houses a washing machine, and there is a separate fridge/freezer in the garage, making it perfect for longer stays.

The dining room, with seating for up to 20 people, is ideal for hosting memorable meals with your loved ones.

After dinner, retire to one of the two sitting rooms; both boast a large TV for movie nights and board games aplenty. For those seeking some friendly competition, the games room, complete with a pool table and table tennis, is sure to provide hours of entertainment.

On the entrance level floor, there are two en-suite super-king rooms, both with zip-link beds so they can be twins on request.  These are perfect for individuals wanting to spend their stay in comfort on the same level as the kitchen, dining room and primary sitting room.

On the first floor, there are two super-king rooms (both with zip-link beds so can be twins on request) with a shared bathroom, and a family room with an en-suite, with a super-king zip-link bed and a separate single bed in an adjoining room.

On the lower-ground-floor, there is a super-king room with a spacious en-suite bathroom, featuring a large walk-in shower, dual basins, WC and separate bath.  There is also a second super-king en-suite family room, with twin beds (zip-link, so can be super-king on request).

In a separate annexe, known as ‘The Dog House’, above the garage, there is a first-floor super-king ensuite bedroom, with a walk-in shower, WC and basin.

All rooms have space for a cot, if required.

Outside, the enclosed garden with a lawn, patio, hot tub, and furniture provides the perfect spot for alfresco dining or a relaxing soak under the stars.

Reprieve back into the intriguing history of Highland life at the open-air Highland Folk Museum, offering a fascinating collection of architecture, artefacts, and demonstrations.

Venture slightly further afield and find yourself amidst the breathtaking Scottish landscapes of Rothiemurchus, a haven for wildlife and activities such as clay shooting, fishing, and treks through ancient Caledonian pine forests.

Should you wish to tour the region in style, a trip on the Strathspey Railway from Aviemore Station will transport you through the majestic Scottish scenery, whilst the thrill-seekers of the group might prefer an ascent into the treetops at TreeZone Aviemore, presenting two sets of exciting challenges set amongst towering pines and firs.

If you want to travel further afield, within an hour you can reach Blair Castle & Gardens, housing 700 years of Scottish history and hosting magnificent displays of antique furnishings and artwork, or head north to the bustling city of Inverness.

No matter how you choose to spend your stay, you can be sure that Old Distillery Lodge is the ultimate setting for your unforgettable Scottish adventure.

The town has a fine selection of hotels, shops and restaurants, as well as being home to one of Scotland's most beautiful golf courses. At the award-winning Highland Folk Museum, just 2 miles from Kingussie, demonstrations of traditional crafts take place most days during the summer months in the ‘streets’ of the village-like grounds. Just 12 miles south of Aviemore it is also a popular winter destination for skiers along with the Lecht, with skiing and snowboarding for all abilities. Visit Dalwhinnie, where you can tour Scotland's highest distillery and have the mysteries of whisky making explained (and purchase a bottle!) or go to the Highland Wildlife Park, and explore the habitat walks and be amazed at the wolf territory and a diverse collection of Highland wildlife.
