• "We spent 2 weeks at Rowan Tree."

  We used it as a base to explore Caithness and Sutherland and it was great. House had everything we needed and the owner was extremely helpful. Beds comfy, shower powerful, bath had ample hot water, heating cosy and stove was very homely. Having two rooms with sofas and tvs was also a bonus. The garden is fantastic and truly dog friendly - we have a little terrier and even she couldn’t escape. Two mins to coop, hotel and beach. Lovely cafe close by.

• "We have just spent a week at Rowen Tree House with our two chihuahuas."

  It was very spacious having two reception rooms, both with real fire places. The kitchen was well equipped, with everything you would need. I loved the designer kettle and toaster, so cute, and the pans were really good quality too. There is a couple of cupboards by the back door with items such as pegs for hanging washing and such, and the other one has dog toys, bowls and treats which I thought was very thoughtful. The bedrooms were spotless, we had the double bed,and it was very comfortable. You can listen to the river across the road through an open window which can be relaxing. The shower in the bathroom has now been replaced with a brand new one, and it works brilliantly, even though the water pressure is quite low, which isn't a problem, Just be aware that pets aren't allowed upstairs. We used fire guard at the bottom of the stairs to stop them,which it did, and as our dogs are crate trained it made it much easier as they sleep together in it at night. The gardens are absolutely fabulous. Really well maintained front and back. The back garden is enormous, and totally enclosed so not even our tiny dogs can escape. They absolutely had the time of their lives, especially when they played with one of the squeaky toys out of the cupboard. Rowen Tree House is perfectly positioned in the heart of Brora, and is an ideal base for exploring around the area. The beach down the road is lovely and sandy. Dunrobin castle at Golspie is very impressive, and a good walk with the dogs in the woodlands and by the coast. The village is small, but a variety of independent shops there and a co-op. Overall, we had an excellent week. Thank you to Floss and David for looking after us, making sure everything was ok.

• "Rowan Tree cottage was clean and adequately equipped."

  Log burner a welcomed feature. Back garden large and very secure for doggies. Only downside is the water pressure is very low, fridge freezer needs replacing (owner said she’s aware) and the kitchen is very dark.

• "Excellent base for seeing north of Scotland, travelled with my husband and our Rottweiler Hamish, back garden huge and all fenced in, our dog loved it."

  Cottage very comfortable and had everything we needed. Loved the wood burner on chilly nights. Beach only 5minutes walk away.

• "First impression was the house was great but the shower let it down."

  Was informed by the owner late on the night before we travelled that the shower was to be used on the eco setting only. the house has problems with low water pressure. We gave up using the shower as it went to freezing cold to scalding hot. we informed the owner and was told she didnt know what to suggest. The property clearly needs a pump to fix the problem

  I am sorry you have felt the need to react so harshly to the shower. First of all, I did not send a text 'late' the night before you travelled. I did what I do for all our guests. I sent a welcome message. I chatted about the new dishwasher, I wished you a lovely time, I said if you needed anything just to call. You were our first guests of the season and because I care deeply about our guests experience I was perhaps over zealous in my helpfulness. I didn't really need to mention the shower. The instructions are all written down. It is not a power shower but it works perfectly well on the ECO setting. I suggested you leave it on that setting as when you put it on FULL it becomes temperamental. When I received your first very abrupt, cold message about it I got back to you straight away and checked you weren't using any other appliances at the same time. Again I received a very cold response back. We have been renting out the property for 5 years with the same water pressure and shower and have not had one complaint. I genuinely didn't know what else to suggest. There have been 3 bookings in since you left and no one has mentioned the shower. Perhaps our lovely visitors don't feel it impacts badly enough on their time there and it is outweighed by all the positives. We are proud of our 5 star reviews but most of all we are happy when people leave having had a lovely time. I'm sorry not having a shower which fulfilled your expectations had such an negative impact and prompted you to mark us down on everything. Very disappointing for everyone. Property Owner

• "What a lovely house, home from home right in the centre of Brora."

  Our 2 Emglish Pointers loved it too with plenty space in the house and both front and back gardens. 5 minute walk down to the river where there are a number of walking options and only 10 minute walk to the beach. We were there to chill out for the week which we all did. We ate out or got takeaway in all week, something different each night, all walking distance from the house. My husband managed a couple of days fishing on the river Brora purchasing the permit from Linda's where also does a fab breakfast. We would definitely return

• "Rowan Tree House was fabulous would highly recommend."

  Everything is provided even little thoughtful touches. If you are bringing a dog you or they won't be disappointed, the fully enclosed garden is perfect as is the beach which is less than a 10 minute walk away. Beautiful place with plenty to do in the area and lots of nice cafes, takeaways and restaurants. A home from home cottage.

• "Rowan tree house, set in a quiet location, is a great base for travelling round the area."

  The large, enclosed garden was perfect for our dog, and loads of walks nearby made it perfect for us. Friendly neighbours too. If you’re looking for somewhere in this area, and bringing your dog, I’d recommend Rowan tree house.

• "We had a lovely three weeks stay at Rowan Tree House."

  The property is situated in a quiet street within a short distance from the beach and the village centre. The house itself is nicely decorated, clean and has a wonderful garden. It feels very welcoming. We greatly enjoyed being there with our two dogs. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

• "We enjoyed our stay at Rowan tree cottage."

  Comfortable, quiet and relaxing. On arrival Brora with his traditional houses gave us immediately a good feeling. Heritage Centre is an interesting place to visit. Lovely walks and cycling is like heaven. Had a delicious meal at the Indian restaurant. Hope to to come back to this beautiful part of Scotland next year.
