6 Lowlands

Having rented properties for years myself and now rent , this one is certainly excellent.

The owner has done a excellent job giving people a cottage to rent, and I hope whoever is in it appreciates it and looks after it. Duggie

The owner keeps it spotless and it has everything that you need for a comfortable stay . We have already rebooked it for the same time next year . Location and local walks were gorgeous .

An excellent holiday cottage.

Very well equipped, spotlessly clean. WiFi is excellent too. We have returned for the last couple of years for our wedding anniversary and we are planning on being back next year too. Arisaig is (wonderfully) tiny, the people are friendly and the village shop has everything that you need. Would I recommend this cottage to others? Most certainly - ideal for a couple or a small family.

The accommodation was warm, the furniture and beds comfortable and clean.

(Just one point knocked off for the stained mattress protector). Kitchen and appliances spotlessly clean and seemed brand new. Sorry, but did not like the disabled bathroom. Sitting room would benefit from some re-arranging of furniture. Good cafes, shop and pub in the village with live music on Sunday and Friday. Local beaches stunning and worth the visit. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and would class 6 Low Lands as "average".

This is the second time I have stayed in the house.

My friend and I stayed in Sept 2024 and it was such a great base that I brought my husband and children this October. The only issues we had with the house were the beds were too firm, the main bed was especially hard. I know it must be difficult to please everyone. The other things to comment on was the layout of the living area. The TV is too far away from the seats (you need to have the volume louder which isn't great when the children are up in bed and the house is open plan) and it blocks the window. It would be better under where the wall clock is. The sofa could be in the corner where the floor light is at an angle and the arm chairs at an angle at the other side. The front garden is calling out for a bench against the adjoining house fence so you can sit and enjoy the fantastic view from that spot - once all the trees and shrubs are cut to the short fence height facing the sea. The porch absolutely needs one of the bench and cube units removed so two comfy armchairs can be put opposite the door to be able to relax and take in the only seaview the house gets. Saying all this we loved our visit to Lowlands in Arisaig. The house is a great family base in the beautiful town. The house was clean and the kitchen was very well equipped.

Overall, a lovely house, so clean with great facilities but let down by the following .

Bathroom door doesn’t close properly and needs fixed to ensure privacy. The shower head isn’t a good fit with the holder and keeps falling out. The back garden isn’t wild, it’s an overgrown mess. Huge amount of weeds in the back garden . With a bit tlc it could be a lovely space to use and enjoy. We didn’t use the garden because of this. The front garden is very overgrown and needs cut back so you can easily walk the path instead of ducking to navigate the plants.

6 Lowlands is a lovely property in an ideal location to enjoy the walks and facilities of Arisaig.

The property is very clean and well equipped with everything you might need for a short stay. We especially enjoyed the wild garden and watching the sparrow fledglings being fed.

This was our second visit and excellent again.

Excellent well-equipped kitchen. Great views from front. Disappointed that the back garden hadn't been maintained enough to enjoy it or to let the dogs out.

We had a fantastic few days at 6 Lowlands.

The weather was great and the property was beautiful, comfortable and well located for the local pub and shop.

Great cottage and perfect location for us .

Pleased we were able to book for a 3 night stay . We found the bedrooms too hot and would have liked the heating to be turned down a bit .

This is a gem of a place to stay absolutely everything you could want home from home.

Surrounding area is stunning. Local eating out is superb. Beaches out of this world Credit to the owners for creating a perfect let .

We enjoyed our visit to 6 Lowlands.

It was spotlessly clean, well presented and cosy on arrival. It was well equipped for cooking laundry etc and the enclosed back garden area was fine for our small dog. Our only minor problem was the broken shower attachment which meant having a hand held shower. We would be happy to return or recommend this cottage which is very well situated in the pretty little village of Arisaig.

Cannot fault the property, especially appreciated that the heating was on when I arrived.

It was spotless, well kitted out, very comfortable bed, good shower and a good choice of TV channels for the wet days. Dog water bowls is a really nice touch too.

We had an absolutely perfect stay at 6 Lowlands.

The house is beautifully situated and it is SO clean and comfortable. It has everything you could want; in fact we loved it so much we have booked again already! Arisaig is a stunning place with fabulous views to Rum, Eigg and Skye. Pubs, restaurant, cafe, shop are all a short walk away. Camusdarach beach is breathtaking and golf at Traigh Golf Club was challenging but fantastic.

The area is so gorgeous as well. We had to contact the owner at some point and he was very quick to respond and sort the issue!

I want to give 6 Lowlands a Higher-than-Five rating.

Let's call it Five with Honours. A lovely nest, spotless, cleverly designed to feel snug yet spacious, decorated and equipped to the highest standard. Many little extra touches to add to the joy and comfort of the place. Extra-comfy bed. Picnic table and chairs in the woodsy back garden. Sweet sunroom at the front, with bench seats to read, or enjoy the view of the bay Holiday perfection; we can't wait to return.

Only thing I would add to the online specification is that it has a dishwasher - This was a real benefit which the description doesn’t mention Excellent owner support.

Some of the reviews mention the garden and the patio - there was a large table and chairs and adequate space for our dog to access. It is currently like a rewilding garden , which I loved and the owners have said it is part of their ongoing planning to tidy it up a bit. With the stunning surrounding area this really wasn’t an issue for us and please don’t be put off this property because of it. Letting our dog out in the morning and evening before we went to bed was made so easy and it was perfect to sit in the afternoon sun reading my book

Lovely cottage!

Spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped. Beds are lovely and comfortable. Beautiful white towels supplied too. Gorgeous area with brilliant pub Crofters Rest.. staff were lovely. Well stocked Spar shop. The beaches are spectacular! Will definitely book again in the future.

Great cottage but the back garden would benefit from being tidied up so it can be used to sit out in the sunshine

Extremely comfortable cottage in a lovely coastal village.

Very well fitted and everything you need for a relaxing break. Great coastal walks a short drive away and a Smart TV to watch that film or series you have always wanted to if the weather is inclement. Immediate outside sitting area is a bit limited but a pleasant short stroll to harbour pier for great views out to sea. We enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation in recommending.

The cottage was lovely to come back to after our winter walks - it was warm and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed - including a dishwasher.

The location and surrounding area is stunning and the owner had left some leaflets and a book of local walks which we really appreciated. It would be nice for the shower area to be upgraded as it smelt a bit musty, but apart from this the cottage was kept to a high standard and we'll definitely have it on our list to return.

We had a great stay at Lowlands, very comfortable, clean and was nice and cozy which was great for this time of year.

My only suggestion would be the living room could have done with a few lamps, but it was a great stay .

A warm, comfortable cottage, for which we were grateful during our visit in early November.

We spent a very pleasant week in 6 Lowlands and loved the fact that we could venture out on a variety of beautiful scenic walks direct from the doorstep, with no need to get in the car. The cottage is very well equipped and our only suggestion would be that it could perhaps benefit from some softer lighting in the form of table lamps or wall lights in the living area for reading and relaxing during the winter months.

So much to see and do. Cottage was excellent.

The property was wonderful, everything you could possibly need was there to make it a real home from home.

The owner was really helpful as well when our car broke down and we could not vacate the property at 10am and allowed us to stay in the property until we were rescued.

A lovely house that is very comfortable and well furnished, enjoyed a three night stay with my son and the house is located near to ferry to Eigg, it is within walking distance of two nice restaurants and a decent bar.

The owners have gone to great lengths to make sure that there is everything that you need and I would have no hesitation in returning and we even got to see Killer Whales!!!!
