Dunira

We had a wonderful stay at Dunira - the cottage was so comfortable, with plenty of space for 5 of us plus 2 dogs.

The kitchen is huge and very well equipped, with loads of storage space, and the living/dining area is lovely and bright with an amazing view out to the islands. The bedrooms were all comfortable and spacious, with loads of storage. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather so spent ages in the garden, enjoying the view and befriending the cats! The location was great for us with a wander down into the town and a short drive to Morar and Arisaig to enjoy the amazing beaches. We also did some boat trips to Knoydart and Muck. Would highly recommend and would love to come and stay again - thank you for an amazing holiday!

Brilliant accomodation very well set out with great appliances and crockery.

No problems with the accomodation, nice resideident cats. Only problem we had was the steepness of the hills in Mallaig and the lack of a taxi. Veiw from the house over the water was great.

Stunning view that never gets boring!

Dunira was a comfortable home from home holiday base. The only improvement (which probably would be too difficult to do ) would be to have a second toilet installed somewhere! It is at the top of a very steep hill, so walking into Mallaigh is a nice easy stroll, coming back a bit harder but manageable. On the plus side, as we had family dogs with us, the secure garden was excellent! They loved it. It's definitely somewhere l would return to.

Comfortable house with stunning views of the islands.

Quiet location but also close to beaches, town and ferry terminal. My dogs loved the enclosed garden.

What a find… We go to the Highlands every year and usually stay in Arisaig but this year chose Mallaig.

Dunira was available for our chosen dates so we booked. From the moment we set foot through the front door everything was perfect. Beautiful big property, fabulous sea views and everywhere was immaculate. Parking wasn’t a problem, right outside the gate. Inside had absolutely everything you could want, the kitchen in particular had everything you could need and more. The sunsets over Skye were very impressive to watch and photograph. Lovely big, enclosed garden, perfect for the dogs. Dunira was the perfect base for getting around and an easy walk into Mallaig for the ferry and places to eat. A perfect all round stay.

The property was lovely,well equipped & comfy.

The views from the place were amazing & kept us watching from the windows, the photos don't do it justice. Plenty of wonderful places to visit nearby & the ferries across to the Islands. Unfortunately storm Amy hit while we were there, but it didn't spoil our stay. When the electricity went off the owners made sure we had wood for the woodburner, a gas stove & candles! We were well taken care of. Would highly recommend the property & loved our visit.

The house is in a great location.

Walking distance from all amenities. Within the property everything was in great order, however, the beds that we were sleeping in were extremely uncomfortable & could do with mattresses replaced. There were 2 cats living under the property which was not ideal as I had a small dog with me. This meant I could fully relax when my dog was in the garden.

Will rent again

The property is very spacious, with gorgeous views across the sea to the islands.

It was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for a self catering holiday. It's in a great location also, only a 10 minute walk to Mallaig and also close to the beautiful beaches in the area, a short drive away. We had a problem with the boiler, which was quickly dealt with by the owners. Melanie also made sure we had everything we needed during storm Ashley, in case of power failure. We would definitely stay again.

We had a great week staying here, using the house as a base to explore the area and nearby islands.

The house is within walking distance of Mallaig for access to the ferries and the local shops and restaurants. The photos of the properties on the listing don't do it justice. It is large, modern and comfortable with amazing views over to the islands. Thank you.

Dunira was clean and very comfortable and we all really enjoyed our time there.

The views over to Eigg and Rum were amazing. The kitchen was very well supplied with crockery and utensils and the beds were very comfortable.

For four motorcyclists, a very comfortable and clean house, very well equipped, even in the kitchen!

Having rented a few holiday cottages over the years, this one has surpassed them all.

It has everything: great accommodation, spacious garden, heating, full of crockery and linen if needed, very clean and comfortable throughout. This is the best provisioned cottage I’ve ever had the pleasure of renting. The host is friendly and attentive and checked with us that all was well. All this is set in beautiful surroundings. If you get five star cottages, this is the one! I can’t recommend it highly enough.
