  • "Really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage."

Good communication with the owner before our stay , who made sure our needs were catered for. The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival, and well equipped. (Just one point to note the description states that a washer dryer is available to use but we found that it is only a washer, a dryer would have been useful during our stay,) The cottage is very well placed for exploring the wonderful things that the Isle has to offer. Would definitely book again when we next visit Skye Thank you

  • "13 Sconser is a lovely cottage, it is well laid out and the furnishings are adequate for a holiday home."

The bedrooms are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and easy to use, the TV in the lounge has a mind of its own. We can never have enough of the views out of the lounge and bedroom. We enjoyed our stay and were fortunate to have good weather.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our week staying in 13 Sconser."

Arriving just as it became dark, next morning we discovered a lovely secluded garden with a rushing burn and ever-changing great views front and back. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed, with good internet connection. A walk along the road towards the golf course takes you to a footpath to the stony beach, we were the only people on it and the views are superb. Not being car drivers, I had been a little doubtful how we would manage, but by organising beforehand we were able to use coaches both directions from the bus stops nearby to visit Broadford, and Portree where we took a tour of a large area of Skye and a boat trip seeing White-Tailed Eagles and Harbour Seals. We also took the ferry to Raasay from the terminal across the road and had a great day on that lovely island.

the gardens not child friendly as there's a stream running through it. keep an eye on the young ones three good size bedrooms shower over the bath. Very cosy all round well equipped kitchen everything you need . Only drawback is only a 19-inch TV and the sofas could do with replacing upstairs bedroom double bed with a new mattress few lumps and bumps in in the mattress so I couldn't really get a good night's sleep overall nice location friendly neighbours I recommend this holiday home great base to see the island we'll book again.

  • "I was very pleased to see that the property now had central heating rather than electric storage heaters."

The heating and hot water made a huge difference, it was excellent. It made me think I would return to this property. The bathroom could do with a make over but otherwise the cottage was excellent. The location is convenient for most of areas of Skye. The enclosed garden was also a bonus when having a dog with you. I enjoyed my stay and weather was quite good too!!

  • "Positives;- The cottage was fully equipped and well situated."

Nice garden and superb views front and back. Heating system was efficient providing hot water as required. Negatives :- washing machine was not washer drier as advertised and door catch a bit iffy. Sofas and beds were passed their best and not comfortable. Driving an electric car it would have been helpful had we been able to charge the car at the property, we would have happily paid for the extra electricity this would have used.

  • "This spacious cottage is a good base to explore the island."

We found the kitchen well stocked with cooking equipment and a large dining area was appreciated with five adults! The garden is lovely too! Wifi signal was excellent throughout our stay. However, we were unfortunate to experience torrential rain and gale force wind in the first few days, this caused us huge problems as there was no tumble dryer (I am sure it was listed when I booked!) and the heating was timed to be on for only a couple of hours morning and evening. Also, we must agree with another reviewer in that the beds and in particular the sofas were very uncomfortable. I would certainly recommend that a tumble dryer be fitted and new sofas/mattresses purchased. We made the best of our week in damp clothing!!

  • "The cottage is well situated for exploring the island."

It is quite well appointed, but the instructions for the entertainment system (TV, Satbox, DVD) were outdated (i.e instructions are for a Panasonic TV when an LG is present) and many of the leads were found to be disconnected. Both ground floor bedrooms smelled musty. Worst of all were the mattresses which were so uncomfortable that none of us had a decent night's sleep during our week long stay. Similarly, the sofas in the sitting room were uncomfortable, the only comfortable seat was the single small armchair. If it will encourage the owners to change the mattresses then please publish but we will not be going back.

  • "Great comms with the owner, who was attentive and helpful."

The house was lovely - a perfect location for exploring the whole island, great views and cosy. The range of games was great too for fun family evenings. The kitchen was superbly equipped- the best we’ve experienced in our many years of self catering holidays! A couple of negatives were the bottom sheet in the front double bedroom was covered in hairs - not sure if human or animal. Thankfully there was a spare sheet in the airing cupboard. Secondly, the house was dusty - windowsills, the lamps, skirtings etc. These things in no way hampered our enjoyment but were a little disappointing.

With 3 children it was great I would say be aware that other than the garden and the street its not really safe for the kids to go done towards the ferry and shoreline as the main road is very busy. This was not a problem but a factor when you are thinking of somewhere to stay with kids. The house was great and we enjoyed our stay

The garden was delightful and suitable for our dog. However, we did feel it needed a bit of an update. The back lobby was shabby and the bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut. Overall, for us, it was too bland with no small extra touches for a feeling of cheer. It made me feel a bit sad. A little bit of money spent on it could make all the difference. The road in front was noisy but of course nothing can be done about this
