Great property and location with everything you require for a comfortable stay.

Very tastefully decorated with some nice touches and helpful instructions and signposting. The owners have thought of everything and made a real effort to ensure everything you might need is in situ. Would have no hesitation in returning for another stay.

This is is our second time staying at Fisherman’s Holding, and once again it didn’t disappoint.

We love staying there, it’s hard to find a more relaxing way to start the day than sitting outside in the quiet with a coffee looking at the view. The house is so comfortable and has everything you need, perfect for a relaxing holiday with family and friends.

We had a great second week in Fisherman's Holding.

It's such a comfortable cottage, with good facilities for six adults. (It would also be good for a family, with books, toys, cot and high chair stored on the landing). Coffee and porridge and jam from the generous welcome pack lasted the fortnight, as did the toiletries, etc. It was also useful to have good washing facilities, with laundry liquid provided. We had great weather and enjoyed swimming in the sea and using a kayak. We enjoyed making use of the local amenities, including going off road with hired mountain e-bikes from the local sports centre, where we also played ten pin bowling. We shopped locally for quality beef, smoked salmon and deli products.

The house is in a convenient location with a choice of sandy beaches nearby and good off road parking for several cars.

Inside, there’s a living room styled with retro lounge and dining furniture and local art. The living room and all the bedrooms have panoramic sea views. Sofas and beds are all comfortable and the rooms have thoughtfully positioned side tables, lamps and storage, which we appreciated. There's a well-equipped kitchen and the local shops have a good selection of Scottish produce. We also visited good local cafes and restaurants, who sell quality Lewis art and crafts. We mostly stayed in Ness, enjoying walking the moor and the coastal path but we did one trip right to the South of Harris and appreciated the contrast. We especially loved seeing the sunsets from Fisherman's Holding and would recommend it as a great base for an authentic Hebridean holiday.

Stunning views of the light house. We were well placed to explore the island and return to the peace and tranquility of the cottage in the evening. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Well equipped, comfortable cottage - would recommend

We have just returned home from having had a great week at Fisherman’s Holding.

Everything that we could have possibly wanted and needed within the cottage was provided for us. The cottage is beautiful and the view from the enclosed front garden is lovely and perfect for letting our dog out and knowing she was safe. We really liked where the cottage is as you are able to walk to a couple of really nice beaches. We were also in walking distance to the sports centre, social club and Wobbly Dog cafe and just over half an hour by car from Stornoway. The owner was in touch with us before leaving providing us with a web page with lots of info about cottage and surrounding area and also checking if we needed anything which was great. They had left us a lovely welcome package which we thoroughly enjoyed and there were generous supplies of cleaning materials, toiletries, etc. The cottage was really clean and tidy. We will certainly recommend this cottage to family and friends if they decide to visit Lewis and when we go back we would certainly try and book here again if available.

Everything that we could have possibly wanted to make our holiday enjoyable was provided for us. The cottage is beautiful and the view from the enclosed front garden is lovely. We really liked where the cottage is as we could walk to a couple of really nice beaches. We were also able to walk to a local pub/restaurant for dinner. We were only just over half an hour by car from Stornoway. The owner was in touch with us, checking if we needed anything. They had left us a lovely welcome package which we thoroughly enjoyed. They even left really good quality dog treats for our Labradors. There were generous supplies of cleaning materials, toiletries, etc. The cottage was really clean and tidy and it was easy to keep like that. We will certainly be going back to Fisherman’s Holding the next time we visit Lewis.

Absolutely fantastic stay.

I was contacted by the host in the days leading up to our arrival sending us information on the house and local area which was really useful. On the day of our arrival the hosts had put some lights on in the house, as we were arriving late in the evening, and had also put the heating on which gave the property a warm cozy feel. There was a lovely welcome basket provided with some local treats included. The property is perfectly situated close to numerous beautiful beaches and is only a short drive to Stornoway. The property has everything you need, is beautifully decorated and well kept. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

A lovely little cottage in well maintained condition.

Large bedrooms and spacious kitchen. The living room was comfortable and contained all required amenities whilst being a little bit dated and feeling a little cramped for 4 people. However, this would be an extremely minor point as we had no issues. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

A much loved family home which has been lovingly restored.

The house is in Lionel not the Port of Ness which we had thought. The bedroom downstairs was very comfortable and en suite shower was very good. The welcome pack was lovely and the best we have ever had. We did find the property a little cold, the fire in the lounge didn’t heat the room but we did stay during a particularly chilly spell. Helpful owner and very good information pack.

A very comfortable property which is in a quiet position and with far reaching views that take in the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse and the Atlantic Ocean.

It was a great base to explore the north of the island and the 'westside', with its great beaches. The cottage is very comfortable and cosy, especially the downstairs bedroom, this room was so useful with an ensuite for those of us of a certain age! The sitting room also had views out to the lighthouse with a comfortable suite and good lighting for reading. The walled front garden was also a bonus for our dogs. The 'icing on the cake' was the weather, it was fabulous! We look forward to returning in the future. The owner and housekeeper were very if helpful.

Great stay.

Home to visit family and friends, there were 5 of us and 1 dog, the house was perfect for our needs, and was really cosy and comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved the coastal theme in the house, it was clean and had everything we needed to feel at home for our weeks stay. Great panoramic view out towards the Butt of Lewis, would certainly recommend this house to others, and plan to come back again ourselves.

This is a lovely cottage with great views across the moor and over to the sea.

Handy for the North part of the island where there are fantastic beaches and good cafes. The house has a good sized en-suite bedroom downstairs and a double and twin room upstairs. The front garden is entirely enclosed which is great for dogs or to keep young children safe. The rear garden is a field which is superb for playing football or run around. Fully electric heating and comfortable furniture completes the accommodation. A nice welcome pack with porridge, chocolate, oatcakes, biscuits etc. One thing take bread and milk with you for the Sunday as most shops and cafes are closed that day. The local hotel is busy and you need to book in advance.

Extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation. Well stocked kitchen with modern appliances including Tassimo coffee maker and air fryer. Good welcome pack that included local produce. Good WiFi and tv reception. We would highly recommend this cottage. Brian, Marie & Kirsten McHenery.

Lovely property with beautiful views and very welcoming.

House is kitted out with everything you might need while on holiday, also a very generous welcome basket with lots of scottish treats. In a perfect prime location on the North of the Island. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Isle of Lewis.

Fisherman’s Holding is recently refurbished to a good standard, is well equipped and maintained.

Port Nis is a fantastic area in it’s own right, and for exploring the rest of Lewis.

Lovely, comfortable, accommodation in a perfect location with an amazing outlook.

The host was very helpful and also provided us with a lovely hamper of some Scottish products. We loved the house and our dog loved the garden. We will definitely book again next year.
