A beautiful and well-equipped cottage in the most wonderful location with a view of the sea.

Beach Cottage is simply fabulous.

The cottage itself is clean, comfortable, and equipped with absolutely everything you can think of-it is the best equipped holiday cottage I have stayed in. The setting is stunning-on a loch beside Dalbeag beach. It is peaceful and so quiet. If you feel you must stay connected the WiFi is reliable and strong ,but, honestly, with a view like that, why stare at a screen? Carloway Community shop is only a few minutes away for food and other supplies. In short, Beach Cottage is the perfect escape from the business of life. Lesley and Alisdair are wonderful hosts. Very friendly and available for questions/help, but not intrusive at all. I would definitely come back here.

Set in a stunning location,Beach Cottage is perfectly situated for exploring Lewis,or just relaxing and enjoying the beauty which surrounds the property.

The beach is a stone’s throw away, and the Croft land is dotted with benches where you can sit and admire the crashing waves - or spot a golden eagle if you’re lucky!

Beach Cottage was wonderful - beautifully situated, bright, spacious accommodation excellently furnished.

It is a place you could stay in and have a lovely holiday without ever leaving the cottage! Its position two minutes from its 'own' lovely beach, together with cliffs, ruins of a croft and beautiful loch, make it a great place to stay. Lesley and Alisdair were extremely kind hosts, very helpful in discussing the history and features of the surroundings, tips for places to visit, and generous welcome pack and more!

Again, superlative accommodation provided by Lesley and Alisdair.

Everything you can wish for in a comfortable house in a great location, with everything you need available. Already booked again for next year!

Most spacious, most thoughtfully equipped, most tastefully decorated and most idyllic location. Lovely friendly hosts who live nearby.

A stunning property in a stunning location.

The property is spacious, light and airy with good views out across both the loch and the beach, and to the setting sun. It is very well fitted-out with comfortable and stylish furnishings, appliances, crockery and utensils. The parking space is right outside the front door, and there are extras (dressing robes; picnic chairs, local maps and information) that go to make for an excellent stay. The welcome pack from the owners was also a really nice touch. Local walks over the cliffs to nearby bays and sites - e.g. the sea arch, are worth doing. The Outer Hebrides was a bucket-list holiday destination for us - we were blessed with amazing weather and away from the comfort and location of the cottage Dalbeg is an excellent base to explore the Isle of Lewis from.

Super house- super location

Beach Cottage was an idyllic cottage and location, with everything a couple could possibly need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The attention to detail for a guest’s possible needs were second to none. The location is ideally based for exploring both Lewis and Harris but with glorious views and walks from the door, also possible to just stay put and gaze at the weather and waves as they roll in. I can’t recommend this cottage highly enough, thanks to our delightful hosts, Lesley and Alistair, who made us feel so welcome and have created a gorgeous home away from home for visitors.

Beach Cottage is easily the best self catering property we have experienced (and we've used quite a few).

The property is superb, well appointed, comfortable, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped with thoughtful touches that make it special. It's location is incomparable. The owners are friendly and very helpful but not intrusive.

Dalbeg is a magical location matched by the fantastic cottage. Impeccably designed and presented, extremely comfortable, it is a joy to stay and relax in. Add to this eagles, stags, dolphins and whales, and of course our wonderful hosts making sure that everything was perfect, staying there has been a very, very special time. Highly recommended.

Beach cottage has been designed with so much care and attention to detail to make the most of this beautiful location.

Every window frames a view of the loch or the bay and the cottage is equipped to an exceptionally high standard. Lesley and Alisdair have created the perfect tranquil escape to unwind with so many thoughtful touches and their beautiful artwork that made our holiday extra special.

5 stars aren't enough for this holiday cottage, it is stunning in every respect.

Thank you Lesley and Alisdair for your generous hospitality. Every part of the cottage is beautifully planned, well equipped and comfortably furnished. Outside is just as good, looking from one window over a wild flower hillside to Traigh Dalbeg with its splashy waves or to Loch Dalbeg with its promise of water lillies from the other window. A fantastic base for exploring Lewis, but one week wasn't enough, hopefully we will return.

We were delighted with the quality of the accommodation and facilities and blown away by the friendliness of the owners.

Lesley & Alisdair went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed but more than that they added special touches like fresh bread and delicious home baked shortbread waiting for us on arrival.

Immaculate and well equipped cottage in a beautiful location next to Dalbeg beach.

The cottage was stunning and extremely comfortable and there were lovely welcoming touches from the owners such as home baked bread. Dalbeg is in a good location for visits to Calanais standing stones and within reasonable driving distance to Uig sands and Stornoway, the scenery on Isle of Lewis is amazing. The owners Lesley and Alistair were extremely helpful and friendly but not at all intrusive. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday and we would highly recommend this property and location.

We have stayed in many different cottages during our holidays, but the Beach Cottage really is the best!

Every day we were blown away by the wonderful view through the flowers to the sea, the hills and the loch covered with lily pads. Of course we were also happy to be entertained by the hustle and bustle of the sheep. The cottage is very well equipped and the rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated (also with the owners' pictures) in keeping with the surroundings and their mood. It is a very good base for exploring Lewis and Harris. But after every trip, we looked forward to "our" home away from home! The owners are very helpful and hospitable. We were really spoiled there during our two week stay! We will come back for sure! Many many thanks! Susanne & Markus

I just wanted to say that our stay in Beach Cottage was everything I had hoped it would be.

What a very comfortable home Beach Cottage is and what a very beautiful setting. The owners can be very proud of what they have created. I am sure we will back to see more of the amazing Scottish isles and when we want a home from home to rest in, Beach Cottage will give us all we want - including brilliant walks just out of our front door

Firstly, what is clearly evident is how much both Lesley and Alisdair think of EVERYTHING to make their guests' stay perfect!

From the bread and shortbread on arrival to the scones left at our door to their amazing welcome and friendly nature. We have had the holiday of a lifetime. L&A state in the info sheet that Dalbeg is the best place on the planet and we have to agree! Watching the sheep, the view, the amazing house (that is beautifully created) but the sunset on an evening on the beach is a memory we will treasure forever. This place is our piece of heaven and we will def return. Thank you. Thank you for reminding us of the important things in life.

Beautiful house in a stunning setting.

Panoramic views of loch, croft and beach, especially loved the waves crashing from the Atlantic on to the sea stack which dominates Dalbeg bay. This house has everything you could ever need for a relaxing holiday and Alisdair and Lesley could not be more helpful. What a talented couple. We loved the gallery showcasing all their work and couldn't resist a couple of mementos to go with the goody bag. Super holiday.

We have loved every minute on the islands especially returning to Beach Cottage and sanctuary! "Lesley and Alisdair, you have created the most perfect place to stay and recharge your batteries. We have had sunny days, rainy days and today a stormy day (thanks to Callum!) and each one has been terrific. Words cannot express how perfect it is! The design, the location and facilities provided are second to none. Lesley and Alisdair have thought of everything to ensure you have 5-star accommodation - and then some!!! They are brilliant hosts who are there when you need them and invisible at other times. Alisdair's microtour of the croft was so enjoyable. His knowledge and enthusiasm are infectious. Lesley's shortbread is the best we've ever tasted - thank you for the recipe and the demo. A visit to their gallery is a must.

Everything about Beach cottage is 5 *.

From the welcome from the owners to the idyllic location. Very few holiday cottages offer instant access to a fabulous beach, or walks straight on to headlands with stunning views. Everything you could possibly need is provided, with delicious home baking as a wonderful extra! Highly recommend this excellent cottage.

We had a lovely stay at Beach cottage.

The cottage has all the mod cons and is very comfortable. The location is very picturesque and very quiet. The beach is clean and isolated and there is a very good walk up the hill to the ridge. This is the place to be to unwind and recharge your internal battery.

Lovely location and house. Walk out the door and around the Croft with amazing sea views. Plenty to see and do in the area. Cannot wait to go back.

Absolutely magical.

What a brilliant apartment and fabulous location, best in Lewis and Harris in our opinion. Felt so rested and spoilt here. The beaches are amazing and Lesley and Alasdair are wonderful hosts who clearly love their home. Their art gallery is lovely and we bought lots of pieces. Located well on the west coast of Lewis, you can cycle to Carloway and see 2 main attractions and more nice beaches (dalbeig is easily the beat though!). Just thank you so much. This stay was just what we needed and we’d love to return.

A truly beautiful location, house and experience.

Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. A lovely welcome pack, everything incredibly well organised (fresh baked bread when we needed it), plenty of advice on where to go and what to see, and the accommodation was first class, with exceptional views of the sea and cliffs. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We have returned from our stay at Beach Cottage and Lesley could not have been more helpful.

The property itself was perfect for us as a couple. The situation of the cottage, alongside the loch and facing out to Dalbeg beach and the sea was amazing. We particularly liked the layout of the cottage which was spacious, airy and very light throughout. Having Lesley and Alisdair next door together with their stunning art gallery was a real bonus. We had a wonderful stay on Lewis and Harris travelling the island from north to south we were always thrilled to be coming back to the gorgeous Beach Cottage!

Absolutely stunning cottage in a beautiful location!

The house was so clean, spacious and comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed. Comfy bed, nice big bath, hot powerful shower, luxury furnishings and high end appliances. We spent a lot of time just sitting in the two comfy chairs enjoying the views from the huge glass windows! Nice to be able to walk straight from the door down to the beach and up on to the cliff tops. A good base to explore Lewis and Harris, but most importantly to come back and relax in. Lesley and Alisdair were welcoming and helpful, and thank you for the delicious homemade shortbread and loaf of bread still warm when we arrived! We had a lovely week on the islands and this cottage was the loveliest place to relax and enjoy our honeymoon!

We spent a fantastic week at the property.

It’s a fantastic design with large picture windows and very spacious and airy. The kitchen is extremely well kitted out and has pretty much everything one could need. Lesley’s home made bread added a very nice touch and it was great to be able to pop next door to the gallery to see the owners’ amazing work. The Property is situated just by one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen. Would undoubtedly recommend this property for a fantastic holiday on the wonderful Isle of Lewis. We are very keen to plan our return visit.

My wife Dulcie and I have recently returned from our holiday at Beach Cottage.

On arrival, we thought that the property was outstanding and nothing happened in our week to change our minds. Or hosts Lesley and Alisdair could not have been more welcoming and helpful. For example a phone call came from them to tell us to get down to the Bay as dolphins were at play there. The location is simply fantastic, with superb views in every direction. The layout, furnishings, and accessories in the property were all first class. We would have no hesitation in giving our highest recommendations to Beach Cottage. Thank you both
