This cottage was so well equipped.

It had everything we needed and more. The owners have taken care to furnish it with good quality items, plus extra little touches too. We have done self catering for over 40 years and it's not often that we come across accommodation as good as this.

The bungalow is in a quiet location in a peaceful place, with a beautiful coastline and a vast moorland, accessible by peat tracks, very close at hand.

The accommodation is first class in every way. Ness has a good shop and plenty of cafes. We found the people who live there to be very friendly and welcoming.

What a fantastic stay we had at Am Blar Beag, the hosts are kind, thoughtful and generous, and so was the welcome and the house.

It is incredibly well equipped, well cared for and comfortable, cosy and with many local and extra touches, it really has the feel of a home as well as being a relaxing, spacious and spotless place to stay. You can tell the hosts have really thought about every detail, from space for wet clothes and boots, to everything you need to cook a fantastic breakfast (local eggs in particular a real treat in the welcome pack!). It was great to be in Ness, walking in the wild wind to nearby Europie beach, cafes and a great base for exploring more widely too. Our children loved the play area and the friendly sports centre, as well as plenty of sandcastles and cakes of course; they also loved the cutlery, plates and selection of books in the house, esp the seahorse one! We are very grateful to Angus and Christina and really did not want to leave! Thank you!

What an amazing week we had at Am Blar Beag.

We arrived quite late at night but Christina & Angus stayed up and met us to direct us to the house which was above and beyond and very much appreciated. They even pointed out the northern lights. They left us an amazing welcome pack of local produce which fed us for a couple of breakfast and we all bought Ness black pudding to take home. The house itself was very spacious and well equipped with country views from every window. The heating was on a timer and was very comfortable in the evenings we lit the log burner which was so lovely and cozy. We ate out at local cafe's and restaurants visited the local museum shops and beaches etc and everyone was very friendly and helpful. So glad we stayed here more than ten out of ten .

Cottage was immaculate and extremely comfortable. Everything was thought of to make our stay perfect. And the welcome pack was just unbelievably good. Great communication from owners during our stay. Perfect base for some excellent walks in the area. Didn’t want to leave!

The cottage was exceptional, spotlessly clean, everything you’d need & more, a proper home from home.

A welcome pack was left for us which went above & beyond to anything we’d received before. Location was superb with lovely views front & back, so peaceful too. Close to a beautiful beach, wonderful local shop & an Inn. Communication with Angus & Christina was excellent making sure we were ok etc. Again Angus & Christina thank you for a lovely stay it really made our holiday. I recommend this cottage to anbody

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location to explore the Isle of Lewis.

The house is decorated to a high standard and we instantly felt at home. There was a wonderfully generous welcome pack which we were very grateful for. Every evening we could sit and watch a Short eared owl in the field across from the front of the house and 7 stags visited us too. We used it as a starting point in our holiday to explore the North of the island but you could explore all of Lewis and Harris from there. The ONLY minus is the living room sofas/ chair. They feel like they are tipping you forward and it's really uncomfortable. I urge the owners to spend some time on them to see it and consider changing them. Even our child just sat on the floor instead. However this didn't take away from our stay and we wouldn't hesitate to book the house again. The owners are friendly and helpful, the house has everything you could possibly need including little things that make a difference like smidge spray in a picnic bag, a flask, and a wonderful selection of books to enjoy. The owners clearly want you to enjoy everything about your stay, their care shines through. Thank you so much.

Would highly recommend staying here. Outstanding welcome basket with lots of local goodies. Very friendly locals and stunning beaches. Such a relaxing holiday. We love the island life there! Can’t wait to go back!

An absolutely delightful place to stay.

Very generous welcome pack awaits (but I’ll not detail it in order not to spoil the surprise for you if you book this home). Everything you could think of is available for you in order to make sure you have a great holiday, including beach towels. Very quiet and peaceful place to stay. Good base to visit the North of the island, but the glorious Reef Beach is just about an hours drive away. Recommend visiting the Iron Age reproduction dwelling at Great Bernera too.

An excellent cottage.

Both quiet snd secluded. The welcome pack was a pleasant gesture by the owners.

We were super impressed at all the facilities, the cleanliness and the wonderful welcome pack which beats any we have had before!

The house was well maintained, the hosts were amazing, welcoming and friendly. Easily gets a 5 star rating. Lots of games, books and activities about. Shower was fantastic and a secure shower mat helped as well. Beds were so comfy and the house was warm - especially lovely to have the fire (stove) on when we arrived as well. Kitchen well stocked with almost everything you could need. Super happy with everything thanks.

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage in no small due to the owners and their thoughtfulness.

A fire was prepared for us upon our arrival and the kitchen was stocked with lovely local produce and a bottle of wine. Even a card for our Ruby anniversary. All classy touches and exceptional hosting that made our stay memorable from the get-go. No surprise then that the cottage was cared for, spacious and had everything possible that we could need. A wide selection of books, including cycling and walking trails, was very welcome. Cottage location is excellent and Lewis and Harris a joy to discover with the cottage's location at Ness a jewel in the crown. Ten out of ten from us to the owner who clearly go that extra mile, and then some more!

It was a really comfortable stay at the cottage, very well equipped, a warm welcome with fire in the stove after a cold ferry trip from Ullapool :-) and a welcome package with local products from the owner.

The property was immaculate and located in a beautiful part of the island close to a number of wonderful beaches.

The hosts were responsive when called on and helped us locate the property on the first night despite it being late. The garden was large and the kids loved playing in it during the evening. The sunsets were amazing. The house had everything required including a very powerful shower.

Comfortable cozy well equipped cottage.

Really enjoyed our stay. On one level. Very relaxing. Plenty to see and do round about. Eating places and beautiful beaches. Our second trip to the island and will be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Highly recommend.

This property exceeded our expectations from the moment we walked through the door.

A lovely welcome pack, all local produce. Everything you need has been provided for you. Would have given an extra star if it was there, we've stayed at quite a few cottages but this one was the best. My wife's comment sums up the holiday, ' so nice to walk in and not have to clean the cutlery draw before using it.'

This is the best accommodation we have ever had in the Outer Hebrides.

We have stayed in many accommodations here over many years. Excellent. The price of our stay was much lower than anything I could find on the internet at the time of booking. Supply of fruit and biscuits etc more than necessary. Many thanks A.

A great cottage with everything you want, clean and comfortable.

The fire and living room is cozy on the winters nights. Easy to explore the local area. The hosts are fabulous making everything easy and welcoming.

Am Blar Beag was the absolute favorite of all of our accommodations during our 16 day trip to Scotland and we covered a lot of territory. The immaculately clean and comfortable cottage was equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break and the welcome pack of local produce was excellent.

There is so much to explore in the Ness area with it's stunning beaches, scenery and wildlife (there were red deer and hen harrier close to the cottage) that a week wasn't enough to appreciate it all.

A very clean cottage in a quiet location.

From the furnishings really everything available. Coffee can be made, as mostly in England, with the coffee makers (known from Italy). The landlords were very friendly, we had telephone as well as personal contact, even a welcome package (at the weekend no grocery store is open on the Hebrides) was abundantly available. This cottage is one of the best I have stayed in.

Where do we begin?

House is perfect - clean, modern, equipped with everything you need. Had another great week on Lewis/Harris - saw plenty as usual and ate amazingly thanks to Charles McLeod butchers in Stornoway. Welcome pack was great and some of the eggs will be purchased to come home with us. Hosts were great - communication great before and during our stay - highly recommend to anyone looking for a base in the islands and we'll definitely be back.

We have had the most relaxing holiday this week.

The house had everything we could wish for - comfort, equipment + we have been situated in the most perfect place fro exploring. Rocomment cycling on Bernera, eating at The Breakwater and Borve Hotels. The Ness heritage Museum is worht a visit - so interesting and lovely food! R,C,J &M, Edinburgh 29th May to 6th June 2021

An enjoyable and active stay despite mixed, windy weather.

Highlight was the boat trip to the Shiants from Tarbert on Friday preceded by a brief stop to visit the beautiful Luskentyre beach. Very comfortable, spacious well equipped house. A& K Helensburgh

We were very pleasantly surprised by the size of the house, the lovely big kitchen and it had everything (and more than) we needed.

We loved spending a week here discovering Lewis and especially all the facilities around Ness. We went bowling in Sporsnis which was great fun, ate cake (several times) at the Wobbly Dog and really enjoyed the Ness museum. But most of all we loved spending time on the amazing beaches around Lewis. You really don't need to go anywhere else if you get some good weather! (It was so lovely to find a basket with treats , some supplies in the fridge and fruit in a fruit bowl - much more than we would ever have expected and such a warm welcome. ) Thankyou, I, L & R Glasgow

What an enjoyable week we have had.

The house is just perfect, has everything you could ever need. So thoughtfully put together. Lovely to find a welcome pack to get us going. A great base for exploring the area. The kids loved the park at Eoropie. it is fantastic. The beaches here are stunning, the boys loved running in and out of the water, despite it being freezing! Recommend the Wobbly Dog for some yummy cake and the Breakwater for amazing pizza! Overall a fantastic holiday and hope we can return soon! C, C, M & S Glasgow

Superbly equipped cottage with everything we could possibly need for our holiday.

Everything was spotlessly clean and we would thoroughly recommend this cottage . The owners were extremely helpful and live nearby but everything was so good that we had no reason to trouble them during our stay.
