  • "Lovely house in an ideal location, close to the shops, bars and local attractions."

The house was very well equipped and had lots of lovely little touches that made it feel really homely, such as the blankets and pictures. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. The Treehouse down the road is well worth a visit for food — everything was lovely and reasonably priced. The train station is only a short walk away, as is the Brontë Parsonage Museum, which was really convenient. Just be warned, though — the hills are definitely not for the faint-hearted! Be prepared for some steep walking, or do what we did and drive when possible.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage."

Everything we needed. I’d suggest taking a few folding chairs if you’re visiting in Warmer weather. We sat in the front in the evening and it was lovely. A nice walk to the main town, just go up the path to the left of the station and keep walking . It’s quite a steep walk but the park is easier to walk through and it’s lovely. You can stop for a drink on the way at the social club by the park you’ll get a warm welcome there. Also the little cafe behind the station before the steep hill is lovely. Parking is free in the town if the walk is too much. We enjoyed our stay and would defo book again. We were a party of 4 adults and found the 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms just right for us. The stairs are not suitable for disabled adults, they’re quite steep, we Managed them fine. 10/10 for our stay.

So glad you enjoyed your stay Folding chairs will be available next time you visit Thank you for the feedback everything is welcome as we are new to this Cheers oak cottage Property Owner

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Brontë sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Brontë Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
