Holmfirth 3 miles; Huddersfield 4 miles.

The historic village of Honley with it's old centre of cobbled streets and lovely old stone cottages is situated close to Holmfirth and is set on the banks of the River Holme. Honley village has a wide selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. The Grade II listed church has the remains of a set of stocks in its grounds. Honley agricultural show is an annual event. Just three miles away is the town of Holmfirth, famed as being the setting for comedy series Last of the Summer Wine. Holmfirth has interesting winding streets to explore and has numerous festivals throughout the year which include exhibitions in the fields of music and the arts. Holmfirth also has a good public swimming pool and fitness centre, parks, shops and restaurants. Also within reach is the university town of Huddersfield, and the cities of Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester, as well as the delights of the Peak District National Park are within reach. A great base for exploring the area, set along the 2016 route for the Tour de Yorkshire, ideal for walkers and cyclists.
