  • "This is one of the best equipped places we have stayed with loads of space."

    There were even extension leads/plug banks as there are never enough plug sockets for all the tech a family takes on holiday (I thought this was a really nice touch). The pictures on the website do not do this accommodation justice. A few minutes walk to the shops and the beach. My new favourite place to stay in North Wales. I would book again for next year but we are in America. Thanks again for the great accommodation, it really did feel like a home from home and not just holiday accommodation. I will definitely return to this property in the future.

  • "We’ve stayed at a lot of self-catering holiday lets over the years, and this is one of the very best."

    It’s spacious and is well-furnished throughout and clearly has had money invested in some quality fixtures and fittings, the hot tub is certainly a deluxe one and the freezer instantly dispensing ice cubes was a nice touch in the middle of a heat wave! First time I’ve been to Anglesey and the location in Cemaes Bay was perfect for us, it was a 5-10 minute walk to two cafes, an ice cream parlour, two pubs, a small Morrisons Local, and a fish and chip shop, and the beach was just past them and you could buy excellent wood-fired pizzas and really nice gelato ice cream there too. Holyhead was only 30 mins or so away for big supermarket shops but we got a Tesco delivery one day too. Something worth mentioning is the house seems to be partitioned so there’s another holiday let attached to the same building, you never really see them and it’s all kept private but you can see their hot tub if you were to peer through the bathroom window over the frosted glass and their bedroom must be the other side from the back wall in the second bedroom as we could hear snoring, hopefully we gave as good as we got! Didn’t keep us awake anyway, the bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. The parking isn’t shared with them, there was plenty of space for our two cars. We took our dog and there’s a square paved area behind the kitchen for hanging up washing which was ideal for letting the dog out, totally secure, as well as the area with the hot tub which is secure too. Bins got emptied every Tuesday and they actually collect your bins and put them back, better service than we get at home! The owner, DJ, was very helpful too. We’d definitely go back to this property if we went back to the area.

  • "Love this cottage and it does need a bit of Tlc but in no way does it detract from the many positives this property has."

    It's very spacious and beautifully clean. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The lounge is lovely and the furniture is comfortable. The dining room and the conservatory is all in one and to be honest this is where we spent quite a lot of time. There is a hot tub and it's very relaxing at any time of the day. I must say the bedrooms were beautiful and the we have no complaints about the beds as the mattresses were brilliant, we had no trouble falling asleep. There's a shower room upstairs and a bathroom downstairs. Home from home really. Had a great holiday and have every intention of going back soon.

  • "Lovely house, plenty of parking on arrival."

    The beds were very comfortable with spacious well appointed bedrooms with plenty of storage for clothes, more than most places. Bathrooms both good sizes, one with a shower the other with a bath. Lots of lovely lighting, I fell in love with the globe light in the spacious conservatory which led off the dining room, love to know where to buy one. So spacious, all rooms were very generous sizes, the kitchen also had a dining table. I would have liked some operating instructions for the microwave as it seemed very complicated, probably me not techy enough, but did not use it. The oven was very efficient, much faster than ours at home but just adjusted my cooking times. Outside from the conservatory the garden area was great to sit in, never did work out how to put the outside lights on though but plenty of light from the streetlamp. Hot tub lovely, we enjoyed several dips could not access the summer house though. Owners were very friendly and one problem we had when the lights tripped one time, we could not find the electric box, one message to them, within about 5 minutes I had a message back to say they had reset it, everything now working. There is another paved smaller area from the kitchen door, fully enclosed with a washing line too. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we plan to book again for next year. Recommend Caffi Banc for breakfast or lunch - dog friendly & The Stag for drinks (meals evenings only) also very dog friendly.

  • "Had a fabulous new year stay here at the old Smithy."

    The house was spacious and had everything that was needed. Hot water did seem to go cold quickly , but managed fine. Hot tub in cold weather is an extra bonus . The house was nicely decorated for the Christmas period , which was a lovely touch . Everything in walking distance . Drive easily fit a SUV and VW on it. Owner was very polite and easy to contact. Would recommend and come back

Not sure what happened to the hot water during your stay with us - the water temperature is only regulated by the thermostat within the house so it might have been adjusted. We leave it to 'hot water on demand' which means you should have had hot water whenever the hot tap was turned on. Property Owner

  • "When you enter the house it is not just clean, but sparkly clean."

    The rooms are so big with lovely decor, sofas, beds and showers. The hot tub is amazing, perhaps a shelter over it in the future would be a plus. Two throws on the sofas in the conservatory would be nice to keep your legs warm. The floor in the main bedroom groans and creacks not sure why. Everything and more is at this property. xmas in this house would be magical.

    The hot tub was amazing, everything was clean and tidy. The owner was on hand if needed, lovely gentleman, the property and the stylish finish to all the rooms are a credit to him. Fabulous dog friendly, my 3 labradors loved it. Just a very short walk to a fantastic beach, lovely little village. The property owner has several holiday properties and they are all amazing. Would definitely recommend this and his others. We will be back.

  • "Just spent a week at this fabulous property and didn’t want to leave."

    It was beautiful, bright, spacious and in a great location! The house was well fitted out with everything you could want. Great enclosed garden for our dog which was fabulous and a hot tub for us humans which was a real treat. Easy stroll into town a few cafes, chippy (great cod), supermarket and great pub the Stag Inn. Beach was lovely with little hut that made excellent wood fired pizzas! DJ was just a call away for any questions and was very helpful. We can’t wait to book again!!!

1 The Old Smithy is a wonderful holiday cottage situated in Cemaes Bay, a short walk from the sheltered, Blue Flag Beach.

With close by amenities and attractions, this home is ideal for friends, families, and couples seeking a coastal getawy to Anglesey.

It has a large, well-equipped kitchen fitted with vibrant orange cupboard doors, and a bright, comfy sitting room where you can relax with some TV after a busy day.

A second sitting area for six can be found in the conservatory, which overlooks the patio, and a dining table in the adjoining room can also seat six.

There is a cherry red family bathroom on the ground floor and a shower room upstairs, along with two wonderful, spacious double bedrooms.

With so much on offer, Cemaes Bay is a great place from which to explore all that Anglesey has to offer. Dublin is also accessible via daily ferries from Holyhead.
