  • "Fantastic cottage in a great location - we know the island well and stay there at least a couple of times a year but this was the first stay at Tyddyn Gyrfa."

The cottage is lovely with log burners in both the dining and living rooms making this really cosy especially for a winter holiday. On arrival we were greeted by a warm fire, and a lovely welcome pack (the choc brownies were gorgeous!). Linda the owner (who lives next door) was a great host and came over when we arrived. This is the only cottage were I can honestly say that everything has been provided for guests including a starter pack for the fires (you can buy more wood from the shed in the garden - there is an honesty box in the kitchen), welcome pack, towels for dogs, loads of DVD's and books, umbrella's etc. There was even a walking stick which my Mum found helpful, as her knees do cause her problems with mobility. A lot of thought has clearly gone into what guests want and need whilst on a self catering holiday and I can't think of anything that has been missed. The kitchen is really well equipped, again with everything you need. The bedrooms are lovely, plenty of storage and mirrors. There are also wall heaters which kept the house warm and toasty throughout our stay. Plenty of parking, there is a drive but we parked on the roadside without any problems (its a dead end road). The secure garden is great for dogs, really good size and I imagine would be a suntrap in the summer months. The location is perfect, really quiet but only 2 mins walk to the village, the harbour and beaches. No hesitation in 100% recommending this property and we will definitely return next year.

  • "A wonderful cottage giving easy access to North Wales and the Llynn Peninsular."

The cottage is very well furnished and equipped and the welcome pack, including the homemade chocolate brownies, was very much appreciated. The garden is enclosed making it very safe for Ziggy our greyhound, (some of the boundaries have walls etc. less than 4 feet high so may not be as secure for jumpers). The owners, Linda and Peter, live next door and we’re very helpful and friendly, without being imposing. There are 2 pubs in the village that are dog friendly and many more all over the island. One beach and a separate half a beach in the village are dog friendly, although at high tide there is barely enough sand to make a castle. Lots of great walking, including dog walks, and many stately homes and castles are at least partly dog friendly. The cottage is highly recommended and I am sure we will return.

    Mr Philip SealOct 2018

  • "A very well equipped cottage within five minutes walk of centre of village, shops and pubs, pleasant garden for sitting out in or for dogs, also a very nice woodland walk and coastal path."

The cottage is located in a residential cul- de -sac which is used regularly by people walking down to the village and using the ginnel at the end, this was the only drawback for us as we are not used to sitting in our living room and having people walking past, also this resulted in having to close blinds in bedrooms for privacy, this is only our personnel feeling that may not be noticed by other people using this cottage, don't let it put you off, just being honest.Overall had a great week and would recommend this cottage for dog owners and families.

    Mr C FairbrotherAug 2018

  • "The holiday was great the location and property were both excellent."

    Mr Stephen RobertsAug 2018

  • "Lovely cottage, nice welcome basket from the owners upon arrival."

Very clean and pet friendly garden. Highly recommended.

    Mr Richard LindleyJul 2018

  • "We had a lovely week at the beginning of June."

Linda the owner lives next door and was very friendly and helpful. Welcome pack included delicious home made brownies which didnt last long! Cottage had everything we needed and is well situated a short walk from the beach , shops and pubs. Jess loved the river walk and the beach and many places allow dogs in. Linda was also happy for us to leave her for a few hours when we went to non dog friendly activities. We have been to Anglesey several times and thought Treaddur bay couldnt be beaten but we are now in love with the peaceful friendliness of Cemaes. We will definitely be back.

    Mrs Trudie WaddingtonJun 2018

  • "We spent a week in this fabulous cosy cottage, it was cosy and comfortable, warm and beautiful."

    We would definitely recommend it.

    Mr Aw GreavesApr 2018

  • "The Owners of the cottage live next door and where very welcoming."

The cottage, the beaches are perfect if you have dogs. The wheather was not good, but we still enjoyed our stay.

    Mr Neil JorgensenMar 2018

  • "Warm & friendly welcome from the owners, showed us around & explained everything."

Clean & comfortable, great enclosed, safe garden for the dogs. Good location for local facilities & ideal for exploring Anglesey. Will definitely be going back, one of, if not the best cottage we have stayed in. Would recommend

    Mrs Michele NoctorMar 2018

  • "Got to be the best holiday let we have been in, dogs loved the garden, the cottage was so welcoming, the owners were lovely and helpful."

Will be going back, the location is superb.

    Mrs Avril ArissOct 2017

  • "The cottage was as described but little touches, such as the fire being laid ready to light, a superb welcome basket and a bowl of fresh flowers, made it far above expectations."

The owner lives next door and was always on hand if needed, we shall definitely return if we have the chance of another holiday in this area.

    Miss Vivien ScogginsNov 2016

  • "Super spacious cottage in great location, close to amenities shops, pub and beach."

There are good local walks exploring the picturesque coastline right on your doorstep. This was our 3rd visit to Cemaes Bay and our 1st at this cottage which met with great expectations, super garden for the dog. The owners next door gave a warm greeting and very helpful

    Mrs Nicola MapesOct 2016

  • "Lovely warm welcome from owners, included home made brownies which were delicious."

Good sized garden and property was local to amenities. Clean sandy beach. Owners provided lots of information on places to visit. We enjoyed our stay in Anglesey and look forward to returning.

    Mrs L ArmstrongAug 2016

  • "In addition to the location and high standard of the property the owners, who live next door, were Very friendly and accommodating."

This made the holiday that extra special

    Mr Gary CotterJul 2016

  • "Linda and Peter who are the owners live nextdoor and are therefore close-by if help is needed House was immaculately clean although utilised by mainly dog owners throughout the summer."

We couldn't find a single dog hair from the previous hirers occupancy so no complaints there. Garden was fully dog proof which was a bonus so we had no worries about the dogs escaping All mode cons provided so it made self catering a pleasure Ceamas bay was lovely village and beach area Downside was there were dog restrictions on the beach but it was great for us and the dogs. house only a few minutes stroll from 3 pubs, village and beach We would highly recommend this property and we will probably revisit the island and this house in the future Dog restrictions on Newborough beach.they are happy to take you ?4 entry fee to the beach but fail to advertise that once there you are restricted to just the left half of the beach if you have dogs.this means you can not visit the harbour, village or other places of interest all of which are to the right.why charge everyone full fees and then restrict access to the real places interest. That can not be fair can it?

    Mr Robert DaviesJul 2016

  • "Linda and peter short are the perfect hosts."

nothing is too much trouble. it was no suprise to read all the good comments made by previous guests in the visitors book. They are a credit.

    Mr Stephen SaulterApr 2016

  • "Property close to village, walks for dogs, beach and pub serving good food."

Property very nice, owners live next door and helpful but not intrusive. Electric storage heating system, tends to be really warm in the mornings but chilly from teatime.

    Mrs Carol RatcliffeMar 2016

  • "Linda and Peter were most welcoming host."

The welcome pack was wonderful The garden for dogs great.it was lovely to have such a nice cottage.some are not so nice people think if you have dogs you should be grateful for anything no so. We would never allow our dogs to destroy any property.so thank you. Linda and Peter for the use of your lovely cottage. We will be back.

    Mr Martin WhittleFeb 2016

  • "Overall lovely place."

Had everything we needed. only down side, as we got to the end of our stay the weather turned and in the main bedroom there's no heating..my baby (14 weeks old) was in the cot they provide which was good but despite clothing her and wrapping her up to the max she was still freezing, by the morning her hands were blue with the cold, I couldn't believe it..so we slept down stairs. We couldn't use the other rooms because they were too small.

    Miss Cathy FallonNov 2015

  • "Very warm welcome."

Flowers and cake waiting for us. Also rang to say we could get access earlier if we wished. This was extremely helpful.

    Mr Stephen SpinksNov 2015

  • "Fantastic holiday we were made to feel very welcome beautiful place to see and very dog friendly"

    Miss Nicolle ToppingOct 2015

  • "We were made to feel very welcome by the owners."

A welcome pack was in the kitchen when we arrived and Linda gave us a quick overview of the cottage and its amenities. The cottage is well situated in the village with all local facilities within easy walking distance.

    Mrs Lynn CarolanSep 2015

  • "The cottage was perfect."

5 minutes walk to the beach. 3 minutes to the shops. cottage was spacious, owners very friendly and helpful. my dog loved the huge enclosed garden. I cannot think of any faults.

    Mrs Valerie BrooksSep 2015

  • "Firstly the standard of the cottage was excellent home from home and very comfortable, our host Linda and Peter were extremely friendly and informative, there is nothing I can say other than this cottage is excellent."

Is the thought Linda has put into it. Little extras i.e. things like an emergency sewing kit, barbecue, buckets and spades and fishing net if children are with you, first a box, dog grooming kit and towels. The location is perfect for touring the island and only a short stroll to the shops and harbour, the garden to the property is large and secure for your dog, plus a large table and chairs. This is one property, I would gladly recommend to family and friends. It's just perfect. There is nothing to dislike about this delightful cottage, a completely different experience in the right direction from the week before in property uqwnk-14. Thank you again to Linda and Peter for a wonderful holiday.

    Mr Martin CollinsJul 2015

  • "Cottage is a 'home from home' - everything there you could possibly need."

Everything very comfortable - very comfy beds! All very clean and tidy. Great to be able to go somewhere nice when you have a dog. Owners are lovely people - really friendly and helpful. There was also a very nice welcome pack waiting for us - home made choccie cake mmmm! Location is brilliant - a very short walk to the village high street, two lovely beaches, 3 pubs, award winning fish 'n' chip shop and lovely walks from the door step. Garden is lovely and secure for your dog and plenty of space to run around - also a lovely little sun trap. Would definitely recommend.

    Mrs Barbara TaylorJul 2015

  • "After travelling round the isle of Anglesey it was great to come back to a home from home cottage and be able to relax."

    Mr Steven OliverMay 2015

  • "Such a lovely and comfortable holiday home."

Cannot find one fault. Lovely owners who went out of their way to make you feel at home. Generous welcome pack on arrival which is always helpful, even lovely homemade cakes. Would highly recommend this holiday home. Lovely garden which our dog Jimi really enjoyed. Always holiday on Anglesey and know that there are plenty of places to visit. Could walk easily down to the beach from property which was a bonus first thing in the morning and the local shops and chip shop was again only a short walk away. Will be going back as soon as we can arrange another stay.

    Mrs Julie DenleyMar 2015

  • "The street was so quiet, with no passing traffic."

We were so near the shops and beach; we didn't use the car all week. Our landlady was so very nice and welcoming. Everyone in the village was so friendly. The garden was ideal for our dog.

    Mrs Linda McLennanMar 2015

  • "The farmhouse was amazing."

Everything about it exuded quality. Seldom in my experience do holiday lets meet up with the advertising blurb but in this case it exceeded it. Presentation was excellent especially the small final touches like the arrangement of the towels in the bedrooms with a small chocolate on . It is the first let we have been to where nothing needed cleaning before use. The welcome pack was a big surprise, especially the beautiful chocolate cake. All in all everything was done to make our stay most enjoyable.

    Mr Terence PhillipsMar 2015

  • "Unspoilt area, the owners Linda and Peter very friendly and helpful, a quite peaceful holiday break."

A great area for walking and they love dogs. This was our second visit but will not be our last.

    Mrs Elizabeth GradonMar 2015

  • "Exceptional cottage."

Obvious to see why it is so popular. Everything and more contained within. Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Lots of extras included. Perfect location. Will definitely recommend and certainly would love to return.

    Mrs Elaine FreemanFeb 2015

  • "Very handy for the village and amenities."

close to the sea. Didnt need your car. Loved the location. The storage heaters, not that warm for winter holidays. Luckily there was a coal fire.

    Mrs Marion OubhieFeb 2015

  • "The welcome pack of tea coffee sugar milk a loaf of bread a huge cake and butter."

mrs short was lovely and made us feel very welcome did't want to come home and will definately go again probably same time next year

    Mrs BainesFeb 2015

  • "Lovely house, great location and an excellent place to stay."

Very good place for the dogs too. There was a problem with the fire which the owner tried hard to resolve but it was quite smokey. Otherwise was great !!

    Mrs Karen SwansonJan 2015

  • "Thoughtful additions by the owners, a fresh loaf and a chocolate cake on arrival."

Also on hand to ask questions during our stay ( when a light bulb failed) All very satisfactory.

    Mr David JonesJan 2015

  • "The owner was very friendly, also did not feel as if we had to be not our selfs even though they where next door."

The house was really good value for money.

    Mr Robert RobsonOct 2014

  • "Lovely garden ."

good food in local hotel. In brochure cottage described as pet friendly. Per your last email cannot leave dogs alone at any time. I do not consider that pet friendly. I do not gtake my dog everywhere at home so would npt expect to take him everywhere on holiday. i therefore did not take him which spoiled my hol. I can understand that people might be concerned about damage but my chap is not destructive and on the outside chance that he damaged something I would have paid for it.

    Mrs Catherine McFallSep 2014

  • "Welcome was exelent everything we needed was supplied."

The holiday was happy and relaxing

    Mrs Jean JowittSep 2014

  • "Miss short showed great trust and hospitality and it made the stay so relaxed, many thanks"

    Mr Richard DaviesAug 2014

  • "The cottage was light and airy with a large comfortable lounge."

However, the highlight was the garden and garden furniture which enabled us to eat our evening meal out every day in the glorious weather, while baby was tucked in bed asleep. Our dog Cap also loved the spacious garden with tree shade to nap in. We could walk to the beach and shops in 5mins and baby Susannah enjoyed the swings at the local park which was 3mins away. It would be difficult to find anything of significance to complain about. We bought a new can opener because the one supplied in the cottage had definitely had its day and that's about it!

    Mrs Meryl DobsonJul 2014

  • "Great location of cottage, owners were lovely and provided us with a very nice welcome package (great chocolate cake)."

Great that we could walk our dog to two local beaches and there were also a few lovely coastal walks direct from the door. Fab garden - our dog loved it. Everything you need in the cottage and very comfy bed! Great central area to get around Angelsey with great beaches that are dog friendly. Absolutely nothing to dislike about the holiday though would say we wasted £12 on rubbish fish and chips, most of them ended up in the bin from Beamauris (the only chippie there). Don't go there - go to Benllech -so much better and cheaper.

    Mrs Barbara TaylorJun 2014

  • "Very good holiday welcome pack out of this world"

    Mr Adrian ParsonsJun 2014

  • "A superb property in a wonderful location."

    Mr Paul ToppJun 2014

  • "The garden was good as we have a dog and it was safe to let her out."

The cottage was well presented and the welcome was very friendly. Too much in kitchen cupboards no space for shopping, not as clean as it could have been, looks they were ready to decorate. Nowhere to put clothes in bedrooms only on the floor or hang them back up, needs chair to put clothes on that you intend to ware.

    Mr John LinseyMay 2014

  • "Fantastic property, home from home ."

Owners very friendly & kept Cottage in excellent condition. Stunning garden & we will return. Great cottage for dogs which is very important.

    Andrea BattApr 2014

  • "The cottage was excellent in all respects, with an easy three minute walk to the beech."

The owners of the cottage were very friendly and helpful, providing an excellent welcoming pack. Cemaes Bay is a very beautiful place to stay with easy access to explore the rest of Anglesey from. A very enjoyable holiday and would recommend the cottage and the bay to anyone.

    Mr Graham HubbardApr 2014

  • "The accommodation was not of the standard we expected."

The beds were obviously old and worn. The settee was old and worn. There were cobwebs in the lounge that had obviously been there some time. It was not warm enough when we arrived, there was no heating upstairs. The bathrooms were cold and one had a broken plug. We informed the owner of the property but he did not seem concerned. His wife did not come to see us after our comments. Her welcome was very good and she supplied bread, milk and cake which was very welcome.

    Mr Eric BamiagisApr 2014

  • "Superb cottage in a superb location."

Very friendly and helpful owners wo live just next door. Will definately recommend and look forward to returning.

  • "Our first visit to Anglesey and it could not have been better."

Linda and Peter were the best of hosts, with nice touches like the home made loaf and chocolate brownies. The property was first class plenty of space but still remained cosy and garden was great for the dogs. We will definitely look to return in the future. George & Liz + two Springer's

    Mrs Elizabeth GradonFeb 2014

  • "Fantastic. Lovely property, convenient location and owners are lovely."

Really clean and had everything you needed including a fab welcome pack. No dishwasher but we knew that on booking so wasnot a problem however one would have been nice as there were 6 of us and washing up when on hols is a bit naff ha ha. But this would not deter us from staying again.

    Mrs Jennifer WellsJan 2014

Will definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family.

    Mrs Tina DaviesOct 2013

  • "It was a great location for walking our dogs on the beach and also exploring the rest of Anglesey."

We enjoyed sitting out in the garden and relaxing. The cottage is lovely and we had a very relaxing holiday. We were disappointed with the local pubs, we would not recommend any of them for eating out. We found good food at pubs and restaurants ten minutes drive away in Amlwch (little Italy) and Bull Bay (Trecastell). We would have preferred to eat out locally (and have a couple of drinks)

    Mrs Melanie NolanSep 2013

  • "An excellent property in a beautiful location."

Lovey welcome - loaf, eggs and brownies on arrival - and a really friendly owner who lives next door.

the cottage was perfect and we simply could not find fault in anyway. The owners Linda and Peter were really nice and linda had gone the extra mile to make us feel comfortable with lots of little extras ie, cupcakes when we arrived, fresh bread, tea, coffee sugar and the butter and milk we found in the fridge. Also the doggie towels that were also included. Nothing had been overlooked. This is by far the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in, the location was perfect in the very pretty town of Cemaes.
