Description
Porth Ewyn House is a delightful pet-friendly house nestled in Trearddur Bay, Isle of Anglesey.
Suited to families or friends, this abode features ground-floor living, an enclosed garden and stunning coastal vistas from the sitting room.
Pull up and park the cars on the driveway, as the sound of the waves welcomes you to your new coastal abode, with the beach opposite and a haunted house in view, adding to the setting.
Step into the snug, where a mounted TV and leather sofa invite you to unwind after a day on the coast.
On the ground floor, you will find two bedrooms, making it a suitable choice for those with limited mobility.
The double bedroom is carpeted, complete with a mounted TV for late-night viewing and views of the beach to wake up to, while the nearby twin bedroom is also carpeted, with hanging space to organise your belongings and help you settle in.
Take a few steps down to the kitchen and dining area, where the chef of the group can fire up the gas hob on the range cooker and prepare delicious meals, while the fridge or American fridge/freezer keeps ingredients and drinks ready for family feasts.
The shower room is also located on the ground floor, featuring a large walk-in shower, perfect for rinsing away the sea salt after a day by the water.
From here, doors lead out to the enclosed garden, where decking with furniture invites alfresco dining, set against a lawned area where your four-legged friend can stretch out.
Head upstairs to the sitting room to make the most of the view, where a wall-mounted Smart TV sets the scene for movie nights, while sofas and an armchair rest against a backdrop of sweeping views across the bay and the famous house, all brought together with a soft, inviting rug underfoot.
Set within a great local the local pub and a shop is in easy reach for essentials or a bite to eat.
Take a short stroll to Trearddur Beach to feel the sand beneath your feet, pack a Frisbee and some doggy treats or squeeze into your wetsuit for a spot of paddle boarding.
Holyhead Maritime Museum provides a fascinating maritime history of the area, uncover the artefacts, admire the model ships, and then soak in the waterfront views in Holyhead.
Lace up your walking shoes and head to South Stack Lighthouse, built in 1809, which opens seasonally with engine room tours, and climb the steep steps to reveal stunning vistas of the cliffs and coast.
After a day of exploring the Isle of Anglesey, return to Porth Ewyn House.

What guests are saying
We had 3 nights at this property with our dog Charlie and we’re so happy that we chose it.
The property itself was clean and had everything you would need for a home from home stay. The lovely views alone from the lounge are enough to make you want to book and stay here again ( which we definitely will be doing). The enclosed garden (which was a must for us with our dog ) was very nice with outdoor furniture which was lovely to sit and enjoy the evening. There are a number of pubs and cafes in walking distance (Inn on the Bay was lovely and dog friendly too). There is also a chip shop ( which we didn’t use so cant comment on). All in all a brilliant property in a lovely area.
The property is ideally located to explore and good off-road parking.
Facilities in property are good. Whilst it does mention in the listing there are steps down to the kitchen area, the final step is deeper and even at the end of our stay it still took us by surprise. The change in the step is so great there is a handrail on the wall to support you. I would say if you had limited mobility then this may be an issue. The upstairs living room is an excellent addition but the stairs are steep and the tread is shallow. You also need to cautious when going upstairs not to bang your head on the bulkhead. Garden is a good addition but did not really use as in areas overgrown. The property is lovely and location excellent, the finish to decoration / renovation could be improved but does not detract from the stay. Overall it is a comfortable well located property , I would recommend staying here but would be mindful if you have limited mobility or children due to the steps inside the property.
We had a very relaxing week here.
Ideal location, nice enclosed garden for our 2 dogs (retriever and a cocker) Absolutely everything you'd need in the lovely kitchen, fabulous upstairs lounge with a fantastic view. Beers and wine for us on arrival. Must mention the wonderful shower! All in all highly recommended. We met the owners whilst there, really nice people, good to chat with them. We shall return.
