"Comfortable property and the complex of barn conversions look great however lots of little bits let it down."
These could easily be addressed to make this a 5* place. Its in a beautiful area, easy to access anywhere in Anglesey from here. The bits that need addressing: We had no hot water for 2 days, this was fixed when we reported it but took over 24 hrs for the engineer to come out. I do wonder why this wasnt picked up on by the cleaner prior to our stay. The lighting in the cottage whilst cosy is not bright enough, we stayed in summer, must be a nightmare in winter. Lounge area lighting meant couldnt read in there or play games in the evening. Only 1 lamp in the main bedroom, 2nd bedroom had a second lamp with a USB cable yet no USB sockets. Under furniture looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long while. Fridge was not switched in when we arrived and smelt musty, did clear up once on. Crockery in the property is limited and old, no spare for extra serving plates etc and some chipped. The cottage could easily be superb but these little things let it down. Outdoors - there is a lovely area with seats and picnic tables, let down a little by needing a good weeding, however someone did turn up to cut the grass areas whilst we were there. The paths in the fields leading down to the lakes were completely overgrown and not accessible. The track down to the lodges is a long uneven track and full of potholes, our car coped with it but some may not, so maybe needs something gone the listing or some work doing to it. Having said all this, we didn't allow it to spoil our holiday and still had a lovely break away.

Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.
