  • "The cottage location was excellent and we enjoyed the space and character of the building."

    The cottage itself would benefit from some maintenance to address the mouldy patches which are clearly visible in the bathroom and some of the bedrooms, despite it being one of the warmest years on record. The white toilet seat is yellowy brown at the front. The electric fire is different to that shown on the website, looks old fashioned, and feels not in keeping with the rest of the building. The sofas and chairs feel very "well loved" and would benefit from replacing. The kitchen was fine, although small when trying to cook for 7 people. It was also a surprise to find that the entrance to the driveway is used as seating for ice-cream sales, with people scattering in panic as I drove up to the house at weekends. However, none of these things spoiled my holiday, and wouldn't stop me revisiting, as the accommodation was in an excellent location. Addressing them would just make an excellent stay even better.

  • "Beautiful old farmhouse with lots of character."

    Perfectly situated in a peaceful spot, set back a little from the lane that goes up to Malham Cove. Nice relaxing garden, plenty of parking and well equipped with everything we needed.

MALHAM

Situated at the head of Malhamdale amidst superb open limestone countryside, the picturesque village of Malham is a magnet for visitors to the Dales who come to see one of Britain's most impressive natural features - Malham Cove. The Cove consists of a natural cavern or 'amphitheatre' of limestone rock stretching 75 metres in height and 300 metres around the perimeter. A steep walk up man-made steps is rewarded with a superb view across moors and limestone pavements to Malham Tarn - the Pennines' highest natural lake. The village itself has pubs and tea rooms and a National Park Centre. Mountain bike hire can be arranged locally. There is excellent walking in all directions, making Malham a great base for a Dales holiday.
