Fixtures and fittings were top notch. We wanted for nothing. 5 stars all round

  • "Excellent property and fantastic location."

Stunning scenery and a cosy, warm and very well equipped cottage. An almost indefatigable supply of logs kept the hot tub at near boiling point and the stove roaring. We will return to take all three properties next time.

The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and still has many of its original features. Beautiful views and perfect for walks around the Yorkshire Dales. Jerry was very helpful too. We would love to come and visit again and will be recommending it to our friends and family. Massive paws up from our golden retriever Wilson who loved watching all the birds!!

  • "Snave cottage has a stunning location, the view is amazing."

Very clean and tidy. Jerry was very friendly and helpful. Beautifully decorated and well appointed. It felt a cosy and nice place to stay. We had just 2 minor points. Firstly, we had no WIFI most of the week due to a technical problem, this did impact our stay as the weather was poor and we wanted to be able to watch films etc. Secondly, there was a light on outside all night which shines directly into the bedroom even with the curtains closed. The bulb was powerful and it lights up the whole room all night. It was hard to sleep in such a lit up room. These issues aside, this is a very special place and thanks to Jerry for his welcome and support.

Absolutely stunning! The views and the cottage are breathtaking. The kitchen was fully stocked with equipment, and there was a lovely surprise of a chilled bottle of prosecco and beers in the fridge. Jerry even had the hot tub heated and ready to go. If you are looking for a cottage to relax and still have full access to tech/WiFi (WiFi was better than at home) this is the place.

Jerry was amazing any issues we had he was on hand straight away to assist. We struggle to get the log burner working though which was slightly disappointing even when we followed Jerry's instruction and tip on if we could potential leave the back door open slightly maybe instructions could be added for this ? The hot tub was wonderful once we got the know how from Jerry we were in there most nights even better with the chilled prosecco left in the fridge for us to enjoy. Loved the fact the place was dog friendly my cockapoo made him self right at home. Location is perfect and exactly what I needed to get away from work stresses.

We stayed for a week and brought our dog with us and they could not have been more accommodating. The location of the property is stunning and secluded, whilst still being close enough to pop into plenty of local villages and towns. Jerry was always on hand if we had any questions or needed anything at all. Will definitely be returning in the future!!

  • "Snave cottage is in a very secluded but beautiful location."

Lots of pros for the cottage however, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage. Due to covid we expected a better level of cleaning. Lots of dust all around the cottage, cobwebs which had obviously been there sometime. Curtain hooks and rails need attention also. The pillows in main bedroom need replacing and were extremely uncomfortable. The hot tub was disappointing also and despite the guidance from Gerry we were unable to get the fire to stay alight long enough to heat the tub.

  • "Loved the setting and a very comfortable stay - Jerry the host was very helpful and friendly."

‘Well intended’ suggested improvements: more environmental effort (limited recycling), fixtures and fittings need attention (curtain rails kept falling off), better cleaning - some skirtings were a bit dirty, and maximise more the view - we had no picnic table to enjoy the view where other houses had their own,

  • "Fantastic location and great attention to detail in providing guests with a pleasant experience."

You get camping-style views with hotel-style luxuries. The 2 bedroom cottage was perfect for us (myself, wife, baby, my parents, their dog), with a relaxed communal space for the baby and dog to roam around in. 15 mins to Grassington in one direction, and Pateley bridge in the other. The access road around the reservoir is a little bumpy (due to necessary drainage channels) but we managed fine in regular cars (Honda jazz and Ford fiesta). Special mention to Jerry the manager who we saw during check in and check out and was very friendly and helpful. Hot tub takes a while to heat up but worked well even during a freak hail storm. 4.5 mile walking/jogging track around the reservoir starts just outside the cottage door.

  • "Lovely cottage inside, decorated to a high standard."

The grounds leave a lot to be desired though. The hot tubs are in the car park and sit on decking above a rubble car park. The grounds are set in a nature reserve which sounds fantastic, although when renovating the cottages the building waste has been dumped on the grassed area, with plaster board, barbed wire and broken bricks everywhere. Not ideal with dogs. If the owners took the time to clean up this piece of land and remove the rubble it would be so much better.

Many thanks for your feedback. If we may clarify that the land you have mentioned is moorland stone as opposed to ‘rubble’. This is behind the property on the same side as the hot tub. At the front of the property there is a courtyard and grassed areas that kids and dogs can play on. Property Owner

The cottage itself is so tastefully decorated and is designed around both comfort and luxury. We spent 4 nights here away from the rat race of work and it really did feel like a treat. Even with the adjoining cottages you honestly don’t know they are there. Couldn’t hear a peep and both cottages on either side were occupied whilst we were here. Hayley, the owner is a delight to deal with, unlike other holiday let owners we’ve encountered. You honestly couldn’t find fault with the place even if you tried!

  • "Vetting of possible neighbours would be good as the master bedroom in this cottage is right next to the hot tub of the adjacent cottage."

We had younger people staying next door for 3 nights who were keen to stay in the hot tub until the early hours. Hot water for a period of time to shower and wash up proved difficult, the water ran cold too quickly. Had to boil the kettle to wash up. The breakfast bar chairs are a bit too high meaning eating at the island felt like you were sat too high to eat comfortably. A coffee table or nest of tables in the lounge would be a good idea as there is nowhere to put drinks when sitting on the sofas except on the floor. This was ok for us but if someone had a dog or young children running around this could be a problem.
