Bride Cross Granary

We had a pleasant four night stay at Brides Cross Granary.

On arrival we received a warm welcome from John who gave us a tour of the property and it's features. John and Rose'y had also provided a little treat for our arrival which was appreciated. The property was spacious and very comfortable. After a conversation as to where we were going to visit during our stay Rose'y very kindly provided us with printed directions for the best route to take. Introductions completed we had complete privacy whilst knowing they were both nearby should we need anything. Altogether a very nice leisurely break. Would highly recommend

Lovely garden & very relaxing.

Very well furnished. Pleasant owner's & very helpful. Limited kitchen due to small size. Quirky layout of property. Ideally placed for exploring interesting places. We enjoyed our 5 days stay.

Wonderfully situated property with fantastic views and lots of wildlife.

Quirky, but fun layout. Well presented and carefully curated. Home from home and well equipped. We had a very comfortable visit and enjoyed relaxing in the garden. Our hosts were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. We’re looking forward to our next trip and would recommend this as a great place to relax.

This is a beautiful gem of a cottage.

John and Rose’y could not be kinder hosts: on hand to help, but never intrusive. The cottage is beautifully appointed and cosy. The sauna is brilliant. It is just perfect. One caveat: if you aren’t great with stairs this might not be the place for you. The bathroom is beautifully appointed and upstairs, next to the bedroom. The shower is roomy and there is a glorious bath for a soak. Its location is pretty central for visiting Otley, Ilkley, Leeds, Bolton Abbey, Harewood House, and Harrogate. Highly recommended.

Bride Cross Granary is an exceptional cottage.

It is extremely comfortable and the fixtures and fittings are of high quality. There are also some unusual features, including a sauna. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and we are so glad that we chose the cottage as a base for our 4-day break.

Thoroughly enjoyed my 6 night stay at Bride Cross Granary.

Warmly greeted, upon arrival by owner John, who showed me around the property and explained the facility's. Comfortable and well apointed living/dining area, comfy bed and a great bathroom. Shower was excellent. I was lucky with the weather (hot) and spent my days walking or biking in the vicinity, beautiful countryside, a bit "hilly" but then it is the Dales. Thank you John and Rose for sharing your lovely (huge) garden. The seating area was a nice place to relax after long bike ride.

Extremely friendly and helpful hosts.

Property was beautiful and in stunning surroundings. Very well placed for Harrogate, Ilkley and Skipton. Really could not fault our holiday or accommodation. There is a beautiful garden which unfortunately due to the weather we could not make use of but would be stunning on a warm or sunny day.

We had a lovely stay , the owners were very helpful kind and we had an amazing time.

There are lots of trails close by and the property located in a beautiful spot. Definitely would return in future. Thank you

They were happy to share access to their beautiful garden. The pond is a lovely feature and it was a joy to sit in solitude and soak up the sun from several vantage points. The walks from the house are spectacular.

Bride Cross Granary is a beautiful place to stay.

Just far enough out in the countryside to feel peaceful but close enough to the beautiful towns that are in the area. The sauna was a lovely touch and did wonders after a nice walk around the reservoir nearby. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The views and the gardens are stunning,a little piece of tranquility we all need in our busy lives. We will definitely be staying again xx

It is well cared for, clean, comfy, cosy and set in a quiet rural location but within easy reach of many areas of interest. After hiking the Nidderdale way each day, in sections, during the mixed weather of March, the welcome warmth and bonus of a walk in shower, large relaxing bath and the use of the sauna, made Bride cross the perfect retreat. We would highly recommend and look forward to returning.

John welcomed us on arrival and showed us around the property and explained how everything worked.

As well as providing us with lots of recommendations of things to do and places to drink or eat. The accommodation was great. Very comfy, warm, equipped with everything we needed. The sauna was a lovely treat after a long countryside walk. The property is ideally located to explore the surrounding locations. Whether on foot straight out the door (Fewston, Swinsty Reservoirs and Timble woods) or a short drive (Ilkley Moor and Harrogate). Very peaceful, only sound we heard at night was owls hooting. Would definitely stay again.

We wanted a long weekend away from it all, and that's what we got.

We wanted scenic walks and then back to the cottage for a little self indulgence in comfortable surroundings. We were greeted by John and he walked us around the property and showed us how everything worked, nothing was too much trouble. Would we visit again, certainly.

This was our second stay at Bridle Cross Granary and it is without doubt a truly lovely place.

The cottage is situated in a quiet, rural part of Yorkshire.

..but not too far to cause any eating, shopping issues, tranguil garden setting down a quiet lane. The cottage is warm and spacious, with every facility you might need. The sauna is a special feature. The owners welcome and guided tour was lovely, and answered all our usual questions ( appliance operation , recycling etc ).... and John even provided useful information about places to visit , which proved to be very useful indeed. Really enjoyed our short stay, and we will certainly be returning . thank you for a wonderful stay Dave + Viv, Liverpool uk

The annex at Bride cross granary did not disappoint ,we were greeted by John on arrival and he was a font of knowledge, we took him up on all his recommendations of places to visit and some .

He showed us how to use everything including the sauna which was an added bonus ,we loved it . The garden and views are to die for and we were able to make use of it if we wanted. All in all we had a lovely stay

A beautiful place to stay.

The owners could not do enough for us. If you looking for a central point set in the middle of the country with amenities minutes away this is perfect. The house is pristine warm and comfortable a home from home.

This is a lovely property.

There were lots of extra luxuries such as the gorgeous garden to sit in, the relaxing sauna, the pampering bathroom and the very welcoming hosts who provided milk, bread and eggs on our arrival. A great location to explore many places in the area.

Very warm welcome from hosts and and was reassuring to know they were on hand should we need anything.

House was very homely and comfortable and was ideally situated for touring the county. The scenery was stunning and there were so many places to visit. We had a fantastic week and would definitely recommend! Ps. The Sunday roast we had at the Roe Buck pub just down the road was the best we'd ever had!

We really enjoyed our stay.

The property is a lovely size for 2 people. The living room was spacious and felt cosy. The bedroom was big enough for me to practice yoga and the bathroom was very spacious too. We loved the sauna and the garden. There is as much or as little as you want to do in the area and Otley has a good range of shops including 2 supermarkets, a nice fish and chip shop with a restaurant attached and The Roebuck pub serves good food too. The owners were very welcoming. The additional bonus for us was there are no pets allowed and this had been enforced. Sadly my husband loves animals and is allergic to fur of any sort and often we find that pets have been allowed. This spoils his stay as the residual fur and dander causes breathing problems. So a very big ‘thumbs up’ from us.

Beautiful escape from normal living.

Cottage and views from the garden are out of this world. John and Rose’y are the perfect hosts. A 3rd visit is definitely on the cards. Would love to stay permanently

We chose the Granary as a convenient place to spend a long weekend close to family in Yorkshire.

In this respect it suited us very well. It has a splendid rural location with delightful views from the garden ( that the owners invite you to use). The design of the Annex to the owners dwelling, where visitors stay is quirky with rooms on varying levels including a very large and comfortable lounge, and a spacious bedroom. There is even a huge bath and a sauna. Visitors have to take care not to hit their heads on the low parts of the roof, especially above the bed. There is a nice pub which serves food, the Roebuck, around 3 miles along the road which we would recommend, and Otley with its shops and supermarkets is not a long drive away. We saw quite a lot of the owners , who were extremely helpful. during the weekend. They had also provided plenty of written information about the district. If you are looking for a country retreat on the edge of the Dales, check out the Granary.

Comfortable, clean .

Great location withonsite parking. Quiet with good walks nearby and easy access to Harrogate, Otley and Ilkley. Good base for exploring Yorkshire Dales. Owners were very helpful and friendly.

A lovely property in a quiet rural location yet only a few minutes drive to Otley.

Lovely accommodation.

Very spacious, comfortable and tastefully furnished. Property had everything we could have wanted and more. One of the nicest holiday lets that we have ever stayed in.

This annex is a lovely find and in a great location for exploring Yorkshire.

The annex was clean and comfortable. Rose’y and John were really welcoming and helpful. They also generously let us stay later when our plans had to change due to the snow. The kitchen is well-equipped and we had everything we needed. We were staying during a particularly cold week but rooms were quick to warm up and hold their heat so we were more than comfortable. We enjoyed our meal at the nearest pub too - The Roebuck; and found some lovely shops in Otley. Harewood House was a lovely visit not too far away too.

Really lovely property very comfortable and it even has a sauna for you to use after a long day trudging up and down hills .John and Rosey make you feel very welcome,John met us on our first day, even though due to the weather we were a bit late and showed us where everything was and how to work cooker, sauna etc.There was also tea,coffee,milk and a lovely packet of biscuits to greet you on arrival. A lovely touch .Would love to come back and stay again. Thank you John and Rosey

John & Roséy are very welcoming, John explained how to use all the appliances and equipment and was very helpful.

The property is well maintained and very cosy and the garden is beautiful. The location is perfect for visiting all the beautiful towns and cities in and around Yorkshire and the countryside is breathtaking. Looking forward to returning in 2025.

This is a beautiful, high standard and well maintained property, surrounded by fabulous views of the Yorkshire countryside.

It's a perfect base to explore towns near and far. The cleanliness was second to none. The bathroom is well equipped, with a stunning standalone bath and powerful shower. The kitchen, although compact, pretty much met requirements. The only thing we found is that the smoke alarm is very sensitive and, if you like cooking, a 2 ring hob forces you to be a little inventive. In the living room, as it was September, it was chilly but the electric heaters provided were really effective at warming up the room very quickly. The sofas were lovely and comfortable. The bedroom is also lovely, but the bedding could do with a refresh as it's a little faded and tired (if you pardon the pun) and there's buttons missing off the bottom of the duvet cover. Although we would love to stay again, the proximity to the owners (an inter-connecting door away) made us a little uncomfortable. I must say though that the owners are lovely, we just felt like we were in their home. I'm sure for most it wouldn't be an issue at all. Thank you John and Rosey

Bride Cross Granary is a fantastic property for those seeking a comfortable base to explore the North.

Perfectly placed with Ilkley, Skipton, Harrogate and Knaresborough all within a short drive, we found it to be ideal for a week of exploration in comfort. You're in good hands with friendly and welcoming landlords John and Rose, who clearly take a lot of pride in the property and were always available to help if needed. It was especially nice to arrive to a few nice touches such as toilet paper, eggs and coffee. The views are spectacular, the location was perfect for us, and it was special to be able to relax in a sauna at the end of the day. Thank you sincerely and we hope to be back.

Lovely place , had a fabulous stay just what we needed some time for ourselves and to relax.

Lovely seating area in the garden of the weather had been better we’d have had much more use of that. John and Rosey lovely people and we wish them well with this venture. Hope to see you again soon

A really fantastic cottage both inside and out.

John, the owner, was very helpful, he showed us around on arrival and provided some eggs, milk and logs for the wood-burner. The cottage was very clean throughout (with slippers provided), the facilities were good, the garden was beautiful and peaceful. I would highly recommend.

We were very comfortable in the accommodation that was very well equipped.

The local environment was beautiful and plenty of things to do. We would not hesitate to book the cottage again if we were to return to the area for another holiday.

Our time here it was lovely.

We had a really peaceful holidays. We weren't specting such a views, nature and some time alone in the forest. I would recommend go by car, we went by bikes and there is a lot of stiff hills, but going down the hill is an adrenaline that goes 40 miles an hour. It was wonderful, and John is an amazing tour person, he explained us where to go and give an amazing instructions of where are the places to visit. Keep going like that, the house is lovely, sauna and bath a good relaxing night after the cycling.
