    Just off the high street, close to all Knarseborough’s pubs, restaurants and shops. Plus a very generous welcome pack. Can’t fault it, would definitely recommend.

  • "Very nice and well appointed cottage in a gem of an area."

    Knaresborough is a great location to visit Harrogate and beyond, and a lovely market town with good facilities, great transport hub and vibrant atmosphere. Beware the Mother Shipton £15 entry fee! Once we'd mastered the heating, cooker, and sticky front door, everything was fine. Cottage was welcoming and comfortable. The owners made a real effort to give us a Christmassy feel. I'd happily recommend it.

  • "This is an exceptional place to stay."

    We arrived to a really welcoming sight with the Christmas lights on the tree and hearth. The heating was on and the cottage was so homely. The owners Zoe and Mike obviously take great pride in the cottage and giving their visitors a lovely experience. The cottage is tastefully decorated and very clean, comfortable and spacious There was a welcome pack with practical supplies and indulgent treats. The location is excellent with a short stroll into town and to the train station. The bus stop is on the main road yards from the cottage. The parking space is right next to the cottage. We highly recommend staying here and would stay again in a heartbeat.

    The property itself was fantastic. A cottage feel but with all the modern facilities. Clean tidy and in a great condition. In addition a welcome pack was provided with some lovely treats. Highly recommended the property.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Maple Tree Cottage."

    It is so cosy and the location is brilliant, just a very short walk into the heart of knaresborough. Despite being a stones through from the main road, it’s peaceful and quiet all the time. The beds are the comfiest we’ve slept in, in a long time. We didn’t eat much at the house due to meeting family, but from what we could see the kitchen has everything you would need for a home away from home. Highly recommend.

  • "Very comfortable pretty cottage in an ideal central location close to shops & station."

    The little extras- chocolates, jams, and plenty of coffee capsules really appreciated Very comfortable large beds- had an excellent nights sleep. Despite being quite close to the road no real traffic noise. Only difficulty we had was operating some of the appliances- could have benefitted from having the manuals. Overall a lovely place to stay- would highly recommend

  • "I stop at a lot of cottages in the UK, and this is one of the best, I've been lucky enough to stay at."

    It was very comfortable in all areas, especially the bed, a great shower well, kitchen had virtually everything you would need, good welcome package and the lounge felt like a home, and not a holiday cottage,

  • "As described- the property is close to High Street but is tucked away in a very quiet courtyard."

    We prefer to park the car and walk or very occasionally use the bus.The location is ideal for this with a safe spot for the car and perfect for riverside walks or exploring a very interesting,historical town.The cottage is very cosy with well equipped, modernised kitchen and bathroom and convenient ,efficient heating system. The local people are very friendly and the atmosphere in the town relaxed.

  • "Lovely, well kept, comfortable cottage."

    Had everything we needed. The bed was huge! And very comfy. The shower was nice and powerful. I loved the extra dressing room. We couldn't get the fire to work, but we put the heating on instead, so wasn't a problem. Thank you for the milk, coffee and choccies, also the doggie treats for our doggo. All in all we had a lovely stay...our first week away for 2 years due to myself having cancer treatment....of which I'm clear now

  • "Maple Cottage was an ideal place to stay."

  • "I can't recommend this lovely cottage enough."

    Its a perfect mix of old fashioned comforts and high quality, modern amenities. Tucked away just off the main road in Knaresborough, its quiet but convenient both for the town and station in one direction, and the lovely riverside walks in the other, both about 5 minutes away. Our stay felt like a real home from home. Mike and Zoe, the owners, were super helpful on the occasion we had a query. If you stay here, pls be considerate to the lovely neighbours too. We've stayed in a lot of cottages in the UK and abroad and this was one of the very best. A****. Recommend emphatically for visits to N Yorkshire, and visits to Ripon, Harrogate, Knaresborough, York et al.

Knaresborough is an ancient market and Spa town on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales, overlooking the River Nidd, and is one of the prettiest towns in North Yorkshire. Its location makes it ideal as a base for touring the stunning countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. For lovers of history, St John’s Church, Knaresborough House and the now-ruined Knaresborough Castle were built by the Normans in around 1100 AD. Other attractions in the town include Mother Shipton’s petrifying well, the Courthouse Museum, "Ye Oldest Chymist Shoppe in England" which dates back to 1720 and the quirky House in the Rock.
