Church View Cottage

This cottage was lovely…a home from home….

with everything we needed. Didn’t go out sight seeing very much…as the week we were there was the hottest for many years….but, we’ll be rebooking for a second stay. Lovely and relaxing….watching the birds and the sheep with their lambs. Can’t wait to return.

This was our 3rd visit to the cottage.

It was, as always, we'll looked after and very well equipped. Stunning view and having sheep in the next field is a pleasure.

This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

We loved the comfort, location, and view and only 1.5 hours from home! We will definitely return and visit Knaresborough and Harrogate again.

Pros.

Well maintained for a holiday cottage, facilities are great everything you need is there, farmers sociable. Cons. Children's 3ft beds used here, not only low to the ground but a cheep very hard uncomfortable mattress 6 nights of torture!! What you need is a decent nights sleep. It's a false economy, and can lead to people not coming back and what you need is repeat customers. Premier Inn found this out the hard way, that's the only reason they didn't go bankrupt, they change all the beds and put quality mattresses and topers on them. I use them regularly now because of this.

Having stayed at Crosper Farm before in Rock View we knew the standard of the properties and were not disappointed with Church View either.

All on one level it suited anyone not wanting stairs. A very relaxed stay that felt like a home with everything in the kitchen you would need. We never travelled more than five miles, so much to see and ideal walking area.

Absolutely stunning location.

We enjoyed every minute at the cottage. Super clean and comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. We intend to return next summer to enjoy more of the walks in the surrounding areas.

The cottage was gorgeous light and airy with beautiful views it was exceptionally clean and had every thing you could possibly need .

As it was on a working farm there cows and sheep roaming the fields and lots of birds flying about . A perfect get away and so many places to visit in the surrounding country side .

Our accommodation was fantastic as usual and our hosts were so lovely.

Very comfortable and warm accommodation with lovely views across open countryside.

The cooking facilities are excellent for self catering, or there is a good bistro pub close by in the village of Spofforth. Owners are on site if assistance is needed.

Excellent property.

Wonderful view of the countryside. Everything you need supplied by the owner.

We had another very comfortable 13 nights (our third visit) again in Church View Cottage.

It is very conveniently situated for visiting lots of places e.g. Knaresborough, Harrogate, York, and also for walking the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage has everything you might need and there are some nice pubs and restaurants nearby. The owners are very nice and helpful. A very nice place to stay. We have already booked our next visit!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable week's stay, very comfortable with all mod cons.

If we come to the area again, this accomodation will be at the top of the list.

A delightful cottage in a gorgeous setting.

Very well equipped, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. If you have limited mobilty, however, check that you can walk the distance from your car parking spot to the cottage, and that you can manage the steps involved! A Apart from that, everything was spot on!We enjoyed exploring locally and further afield. A very enjoyable stay, thank you!

Excellent accommodation, beautifully presented and well equipped.

A relaxed setting and an ideal base for places in Yorkshire and the Dales.

A very well equipped and clean cottage, with great views over fields abd into Spofforth set on the side of a working farm.

Great access for walks and even runs etc through the farm down into Spofforth village. A great stay - thank you

What a gem of a find!

A beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and comfortable cottage in a great location. Fantastic views and a short, easy walk into the nearby village. We shall be visiting again!

The cottage was very comfortable and clean in every way and equipped with everything you need.

There are lovely views from the lounge area. Very convenient for visiting Harrogate, York, Ripon, Wetherby, Knaresborough. Also fairly handy for visits to Grassington, Skipton, Pateley Bridge. We also enjoyed our visit to Fountains Abbey near Ripon. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

We regularly stay here, a wonderful place to enjoy the countryside, it’s peaceful and we always come home refreshed.

The cottage is cosy and has everything you would need, can’t praise it enough. In summer you can throw the doors open and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.

Great little cottage

Church View cottage is a little gem of a find.

It is so well appointed to discover North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. It is very well presented and considerately put together. We have really enjoyed our stay and the wildlife including, seeing the red kites flying in front of the cottage. Pat was very interested in us and friendly.

An excellent cottage, ideal for seeing Harrogate and the rest of North Yorkshire with information on the local attractions being readily available.

Every need seemed to be satisfied by the thoughtful content of the property. The working farm situation also gave it an interesting atmosphere.

We enjoyed our week at Church View Cottage.

Very pleasant, comfortable and clean with everything you need to hand. Lovely views over the countryside too. The cottage is very convenient for visits to the Dales, Harrogate, Knaresborough and York and we also had some lovely walks from the cottage. We shall look forward to returning.

A lovely and comfortable modern property on a working farm which was fun to explore.

Unfortunately it is next to a busy noisy road which takes away from the beautiful view when sitting out. This place will be forever remembered by us as the place without a welcome tray after a long journey, even a travel lodge can provide a couple of biscuits and a splash of milk.

Church View Cottage is lovely.

Perfect for couples. Clean, well equipped and it has a good view over farmland and surrounding countryside. The cottage is ideally located for exploring Yorkshire.

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and tastefully decorated.

Having returned to churchview cottage for our second visit it was just as good as our first, the cottage is well equipped clean and spacious, the owners have made it a home for home for you, churchview is on a working farm with great views of countryside and wildlife , A great base to explore Yorkshire moors and dales, The owners are hard working and friendly, we look forward to our third visit.

Our only gripe is that the owner did not go out of their way to introduce themselves.

Nor, during two very brief encounters, did they ask if everything was OK. There was not any sort of welcome pack (tea, coffee etc. etc.) which we thought was a Sykes trademark. Shame, as both the above makes a big difference to customer appreciation.

We had a lovely week.

..so peaceful . The Cottage is as described perfectly and suited us very well. I have some mobility issues.and I found the walk in shower a great help. We would definitely book here again. Thank you

My wife and I spent a week in this lovely property and found it to be exceptionally well furnished and equipped and in excellent condition with everything thoughtfully provided.

Lovely view over the fields to Spofforth. We dined several times in the Castle Inn Spofforth and found the food and service to be good. Very handy for visiting Knaresborough, Wetherby and Harrogate. Ken and Mary.

Absolutely fantastic, home away from home, which was clean and well presented.

Pat was friendly and helpful. The cottage had quality inclusions and spotless. Thank you for an awesome stay! We will be back!

a beautifully appointed cottage .

no expense has been spared in the decoration and comfort . it is somewhere that you could move into and live no problem at all. a excellent property. will book again.

The cottage was easy to find.

It was always warm in the cottage, this is due to the biomass heating in the rooms. There is a very good village shop and a very large supermarket about 2 miles away. We used both. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Extremely relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Lovely cottage excellent in every way

A lovely stay with my husband.

Peaceful even though it's on a working farm. We saw the red kites in the sky most days and was lovely to watch them. The cottage was very comfortable and we both slept well. I would ask for some milk/teabags/coffee to be in the cottage on arrival but otherwise everything was amazing, thank you.

This was a beautiful cottage.

Very well equipped and comfortable. A good location too for exploring the local area.

Cannot fault the cottage on any aspect Bus time table and taxi number would b help full

Great and comfortable place to stay.

Excellent cottage - warm and cosy, thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Excellent stay would highly recommend this hidden gem it was like home from home.

Very clean very cosy and extremely warm would certainly stay again. Would not hesitate anyone to stay in this wonderful cottage in beautiful Yorkshire!! Sykes you have given us another excellent accommodation - here’s to many more holiday with Sykes in 2024 THANK YOU

This is a great cottage, all one level, clean, tidy, comfortable and warm.

It is in a small courtyard setting on a busy working farm, this makes it very private. The situation is superb, so easy to get to such places as York (use park and ride) Harrogate and Knaresborough to name a few. Plenty of good eating places around

Most enjoyable stay in lovely surroundings and excellent accommodation loved every minute of our visit.

This being our third stay. Looking forward to seeing you again next year Thank you. Kind regards. Walter+Jean. Hull. E.Yorks xx

Definitely,home from home.

From walking through the front door, the cottage is so comfortable. Beautfully wet room and well equiped kitchen. Being south facing is a bonus, the patio doors were constantly open. This is the second stay now,and both times it has been hard to leave. Wonderful.

A delightful cottage to stay in.

Very comfortable and loved the walk-in shower as i have mobility issues. The kitchen well stocked with any and all implements if you wish to cook a full meal. Would highly recommend ideal for someone with mobility issues .

Lovely, comfortable cottage, very well equipped, we didn’t want for anything.

You would have to search hard to find better holiday accommodation in Yorkshire than a stay in church view cottage , the accommodation is everything we could ask for , clean , well equipped & with far reaching views of the countryside, the owners are hard working farmers who have given us the opportunity to enjoy farming life & a abundance of wildlife to watch , Ann is a farmers daughter & grew up in this environment, we look forward to returning next year to crosper farm.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Church View.

Clean, comfortable and with every amenity we could wish for. Would definitely recommend this property.

Church View is a super little holiday home, with all the little touches that make for a special time.

Highly recommended.

This was our third stay in Spofforth, in separate properties.

Our latest being Church View which continued the quality we have experienced before. Great location, excellent accomodation and friendly owners. We will return to another cottage.

A very pleasant and homely stay.

Ideally suited for our touring around picturesque towns and villages. Thanks Richard & Carole

A lovely cosy cottage with amazing views.

It was well presented, organised and equipped with everything you needed. We thought it was good value for the money.

It was with a little concern that our chosen holiday week turned out to be in probably the coldest week of the year but it transpired that the cottage was as warm as toast.

Everything has been provided to make the stay as comfortable and trouble free as possible. The cottage is located on a working farm and we were thrilled to be invited to watch the sheep being milked. (We are real townies)

The photos on the listing do not do this place justice, the holiday cottage is huge, the views are amazing and they have thought of everything you might need.

The underfloor hearing meant that it was always lovely and warm. We had such a wonderful stay and will definitely return to one of the cottages in the future (they have many).

Our Fourth visit to these lovely cottage's.

Our Second stay in Church View everything spot on. So quiet and relaxing

This has to be the most relaxing cottage we have stayed in.

Everything has been thought of. I could quite easily move in permanently. Situated halfway between Harrogate and wetherby,it is ideal for getting about. Excellent.

Excellent.

Thank you very much.

This is a lovely property in a great location, our second visit and I am sure we will return.

Everything you could need, shops and other facilities nearby and easy to get to. A particular plus is ease of parking and access to the property, we stayed in winter so didn't have chance to take advantage of the outside seating but hope to do so next time, wonderful views, thank you.

Beautiful cottage, great views, and felt very secluded which is just what we were after!

Another brilliant week in this beautiful cottage.

Everything is so very clean and welcoming, this was our second stay and we have just booked again for next year. Cannot fault anything, one of the best places we have ever stayed in, and so much to do in the local area. Although it is near the road you really do not notice it once inside. Highly recommend, thanks very much

Have stayed her before and will stay here again.

All great. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Excellent accommodation, comfortable bed, all facilities provided, kitchen well equipped.

No hesitation to recommend to others.

So comfortable, immaculately clean.

Wonderful view from cottage towards Spofforth. There is a main road close to cottage but the soundproofing of the building makes this of negligible consequence. If you like the chance to see a Red Kite hunting this is a common site around the fields. All in all a wonderfully relaxing cottage to visit. Ideally situated for visits to Harrogate area and easy access to Yorkshire Dales.

The property was lovely location good cleanliness good well stocked with everything you could possibly need on holiday please thank the owners .

Superb in every way location just everything will definitely go again felt so at home

We loved everything about our fortnight at Church View Cottage.

The property was spacious, very well equipped, in fact the first cottage we have rented which supplies enough crockery, cutlery etc so that the dishwasher can be used economically. The view from the cottage was to die for. Two sheep would greet us in the mornings with a friendly baa. The one slight worry we had was when taking a shower. We are elderly and mobility impaired. The shower room was wonderful other than only suction fitted hand rails were offered to affix for ourselves if required. Unfortunately we did not trust them, as we need proper support. A couple of permanent vertical hand rails fitted to the left of the roof shower and on the back wall in the open space, for using with the hand held shower, would have been fantastic. This, however, did not spoil our fortnight because everything else was fantastic, and our problem with the lack of hand rails would not affect many visitors. Thank you Pat and Luke.

Beautiful cottage,we had a very restful time, loved being on the farm especially the two BIG sheep next to us.

Although near main road it didn't bother us loved seeing the

A little bit of Heaven in God's Own Country.

We are just sorry that we had to leave early due to a positive covid test.

Lovely cottage on a quiet farm in a great location.

Clean and comfortable, nicely decorated and very well equipped. Would have given full marks if wet room had been fitted with a grab rail or two (we are in our 60s/70s and worried we might slip and fall). The cottage provides an excellent base from which to explore the area. We really had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend to family and friends

This is an amazing property ideal for relaxing, the view is lovely and it’s equipped with everything you need however the nearby road was a bit noisy but not too bad in the grand scheme of things.

We would definitely go back and definitely recommend .

A fantastic cottage in a perfect location to explore.

The cottage was very well equipped and was incredibly clean and comfortable. The open plan living on one floor was ideal. Even though there are other cottages next door, the layout ensures complete privacy. Each cottage has its own parking space, so there was never a concern about where to park if returning late. It is on a working farm, however this was never an issue. There is a road near the property which was busier than expected but didn't spoil the holiday in any way. We wouldn't hesitate to book again. Lovely hosts too.

A beautifully presented cottage.

Very tastefully furnished. Cannot think of a single item that would have improved the overall ambience. All crockery matched and there were more than enough cooking utensils, all of a good quality. If there is a small negative it would be fixed grab rails in the shower area of the wet room together with a non slip mat.

A lovely decorated & with great facilities, barn conversion, situated on Crosper Farm.

Within a short drive of Harrogate, Weatherby etc. Great views looking towards Spofforth, which is also a short walk via the public footpath which runs through the farm. A great base for exploring the local area which has some great walks & areas of both historical & natural interest. We would definitely recommend the extremely high quality accommodation that Crosper Farm offers. Many thanks for a great holiday.

Lovely cottage which is very well equipped and very comfortable with the underfloor heating from the biomass boiler being a boon as it was cold but dry whilst we were there.

The wet room in particular was really warm and beautifully done. The view is as described and is really lovely. It really is a working farm and we were lucky to be there when new lambs were being born. It was also fascinating to watch the sheep being rounded up for milking. The only drawback which was not mentioned was the closeness of the A166 road but after a couple of days we were used to it. Thanks to Pat and Duke for a lovely holiday let.

Second time for us and won't be the last.

.cannot fault these cottages..the view is amazing..cleanliness 5*.. amenities 5*..

Excellent loved it.

Cannot wait to return .we give it 10 stars.....Very highly recommended. Beautiful views....lovely cozy cottage a credit to the owners.

Wonderful weekend away.

The cottage was immaculate, clean, with all the amenities we could wish for. A lovely wet room with a very good shower. Unusual entryway to the cottage, we arrived in the dark and couldn't find it at first. Very close to Harrogate and Wetherby. The Castle Inn in the village serves very good food. We highly recommend Crosper Farm for a quiet, comfortable getaway.

Wonderful location, well situated if you want to do some sightseeing and exploring, Knaresborough, Harrogate, Skipton all within easy each BUT we came for rest and relaxation which is exactly what we got.

First class accommodation in lovely surroundings, cannot think of anything to criticise, thank you so much.

Our second visit and it won’t be our last.

A very cosy, comfortable and nicely designed cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Fantastic accommodation every thing you could need for an amazing holiday will definitely return

This is a super cottage, warm cosy and extremely well equipped.

100% spot on when we arrived, very clean these cottages have been converted from farm buildings and are very very well done and must have been costly. Super parking, situation is spot on facilities both inside and outside well thought out. Loved the cottage layout the view, the balcony and the internal courtyard. Continuous hot water, great shower in the wet room, plenty of towels and bedding. This is a busy working farm never seen as many potatoes in my life. Score 11 out of 10, thanks.

Maybe the key colllection instructions could be clearer, ie Church View cottage will be open when you arrive.

The instructions said the door to Crosper Farm will be open so we disturbed the owners when we arrived. Gorgeous, cosy, clean, well-equipped cottage. We had a fabulous stay & we’d like to thank the owners.

This was our second visit to this cottage and our fourth to the farm.

We are always given a warm welcome but our privacy is respected at all times. The cottage has all that we need and more. The views across the fields to the church are beautiful and the cottage is very handy for visiting other places in the dales and the Harrogate area.

This was our 3rd stay at the cottages on this farm and once again we were very happy at the lovely welcome by the owner.

This cottage has a lovely view towards Spofforth and we spent many hours watching the bird life. Cottage is all on one floor so very accessible and comfortable. We have already booked another cottage on this farm and plan to go again after that too. Harlow Carr gardens are great - very busy, but actually the gardens are so big that it feels ok once inside. Harrogate worth a visit as is Bolton Abbey. Thank you. we look forward to our next visit.

I’ve deliberately delayed this review until we could secure another booking, that probably tells you all you need to know.

A spacious, beautifully furnished/decorated and very well equipped cottage. A lot of thought and care has gone into this barn conversion and we immediately felt at home there. Designated parking and a small private patio with (of course) a church view, completes the package. It is a working farm so there are animals nearby to enjoy watching. It should be said that the property is less than 50m from a busy main road so, although screened, there is traffic noise. I’m a light sleeper and didn’t find it a problem after the first night even with the bedroom window open. The upside of the road proximity is an excellent large Sainsbury’s and petrol station some 10 minutes away and easy access to Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby and the A1.

I will not use Sykes’ again as you were a disgrace last year during the pandemic.

It was extremely difficult to contact you and you had the nerve to charge us to transfer to this year despite the travel restrictions. I tell everyone what an awful company you are to deal with so you are receiving bad publicity for the sake of the extra charge you made. The accommodation and venue were lovely but sad you are such an awful company to deal with.

Church View Cottage is extremely comfortable.

Would highly recommend.

Church View Cottage was perfect Would recommend Crosper fm to all of our friends, Thank you Pat for a wonderful stay Best wishes Robin & Heather Puddletown Dorset

The cottage was faultless, very clean, comfortable and very well equipped.

The only downside was the road noise. We do feel there should be some mention of this fact in the listing as it's inescapable and it did affect our stay to a degree. Regardless of this we were very happy with the cottage and the owners are very nice people. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

The cottage was perfect in every way and we will have no hesitation in booking again in the future.

This was a longer let, six weeks in fact, between house moves and during covid lockdown- it was exceptional, a home from home, we couldn't have asked for anything better.

Stunning and I am sure anyone eventually coming here on holiday would be delighted.

We had the opportunity to stay in both the Granary and Church View.

We must say Patricia was the perfect hostess and really helped us out as we were post moving house and pre-holiday. The properties are both outstanding. So very well equipped to an extremely high standard and the decor is so very tastefully done. Everything and more! Local amenities are very close by car and though we were only 20 mins from home we used the cottage for relaxing but realise so much is worth visiting in the area. I will certainly recommend these cottages to friends, albeit a short hop from home. I would also like to say a big thank you to Julie in the call team who tirelessly found us properties during these difficult times when most companies would keep you on hold. She was adamant to find us the appropriate property in light of our urgency. Thank you

Perfect for a half term getaway: cosy, clean, convenient and calming.

Superb property,so comfortable and clean with quality furnishings.

best Sykes property we have stayed in ,if only all your properties were as good !.will certainly recommend church view to anyone .

The cottage was ideally located for getting around to all the places we wanted to visit.

It had everything you could need for your stay, was very well furnished and felt spacious. There was nothing we would change about the cottage as it suited us down to the ground and the only question is WHEN will we will be back to this cottage, not IF.

Spent a few days in this beautiful cottage.

The owner has thought of everything, we even found a brolly in the cupboard for when it was raining. It was very spacious for just the two of us and it was equipped so well we could have hosted a full dinner party. The individual parking space was excellent as there was never an issue trying to park in front of cottage. Nice outdoor space if you get the weather. The local village pub is within walking distance but ask for directions over the fields before setting off, not sure we could have found the path if we hadn’t asked. Really handy for popping into Harrogate. Would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

An absolutely lovely property.

It is maintained to the highest standard. Warm, spacious and very comfortable. Fantastic views from the lounge window. Home from home.

Our hosts were so helpful and friendly without being interfering.

A special treat was to be able to be shown the animals. especially the newborn lambs which the grandchildren thought was great. The location was spot on for us to visit family in Harrogate. Will certainly use again.

The cottage was ideally situated to visit a wide range of places.

Pat and Duke were welcoming and friendly. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped.

The cottage was so well furnished and equipped.

It was very true to the description. Unfortunately due to the bad weather we didn't to use the footpath to the village. The cottage is situated on the A661 which gives very easy access to Harrogare and Wetherby. The cottage was very well heated, had a comfy bed and seating and anexcellent shower.

We had a wonderful time in Yorkshire visiting family and friends, made all the more enjoyable and relaxing by the very high standard and comfort in Church View Cottage.

It was our pleasure to stay in such a warm, homely and outstanding Cottage, Everything had been thought of, there was nothing more we needed, The Cottage has certainly earned a 5* luxury rating from us. The view from the living room was wonderful, we could have sat for hours but needed to explore Harrogate and Bettys!

This was our 19th wedding in anniversary break and I needed to chill.

This was everything we wanted. Amazing views from the French windows, spacious, peaceful, easy access to Harrogate, meal at the Falcon a local pub. Pat was a great host. We just missed the sheep being milked on the farm as the weather was NOT good. What do you expect from November! Highly recommended . Sheila from Blackpool

The cottage was all we expected and more.

It was exactly what we wanted for a relaxing holiday with the added bonus of being able to sit outside and enjoy a magnificent view. Our welcome was warm and friendly but after that our privacy was respected.

WE HAD ANOTHER EXCELLENT STAY IN A SUPERB LOCATION AND THE OWNERS WERE EXCEPTIONALLY KIND AND THOUGHTFUL 10 OUT OF 10

lovely well equipped cottage - everything we needed for a relaxing week.

just returned from a great week church view cottage the cottage is beautifully decorated and well layed out very comfortable bed will be back

Delightful cottage with views across the pasture to Spoffeth Church.

Very relaxing. Kitchen and Dining Rm open plan with vaulted ceilings so is light and airy. Pat and Duke always around, this is a working farm. Looking forward to next year!

Very comfortable cottage with everything and more to make your stay special.

Road quite noisy till late evening and speeding traffic needs dealing with.

We enjoyed our stay very much it was nice to be in the country side with a field full of poodles, whoops we mean sheep. We hope to come again at some time. *****

A lovely holiday home, perfect for a couple and a perfect location to visit Harrogate and many beautiful villages in the surrounding area.

Stunning views from the property and a lovely seating area out of the back. It's close to a road, but not terribly noisy!

Church view cottage is an extremely well appointed property.

....with beautiful views .It is very near to wonderful places to visit.A very warm welcome from the owner was appreciated. The cottage itself is disabled friendly....it is spacious ,light and very comfortable.

lovely cottage ,we could live there.

very helpful lady.very good for disabled.would love to go back some time.i would give it 5*+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We found the cottage to be exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Roomier than we expected with a large lounge - dining area and kitchen. The bedroom and wet room were also larger than normal. Heating (under-floor) and lighting was also to a very high standard. We appreciated the wi-fi connection and the safe parking (one of our priorities). The view to the south, which can be enjoyed from both the lounge and patio is spectacular and includes, as the name implies, the church at Spofforth - just a mile away. We were not blessed with particularly good weather on this occasion, however our hosts and the cottage's facilities went a long way make our stay a most enjoyable one. An ideal location for touring North Yorkshire with all it's attractions. Ralph & Rene Coulson. PS. Thank you Mr & Mrs Heslop.

Property was beautifully decorated and dressed.

Very comfortable with everything one could need and fabulous shower. Nice view from double doors/patio across the farm's sheep fields. The farm was located next to a busy road and could be a noise problem if one wanted the window open whilst sleeping during hot summer nights. Great location for driving to York, Harrogate, the Dales and the Moors. Lovely village of Spofforth close by with shops and pubs.

Had a lovely week in this cottage ,can't rate it high enough .

Comfort , cleanliness , decor all exeptional, just love the wet room with fantastic shower .The views from the lounge area are amazing .The owners have thought of everything to make it a lovely place to relax . Spofforth is a nice village with pub and shop ,and well worth looking around the castle .Follyfoot has a shop /post office and two welcoming Samuel Smith pubs .Wetheby is a great place ,nice independent shops ,tea shop and lovely river walk . Would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a lovely break and a fantastic cottage to return to . The wine and milk much appreciated . Hope to be back soon .

A delightful little cottage, ideal for couples.

Lovely views and plenty of places to visit. Beautifully furnished with everything thought of. Would definitely recommend it.

The cottage was better than we could wish for, modern with plenty of appliances clean and tidy in a lovely part of the country you could sit all day and what the red kites hover and dive across the valley its a lovely cottage in a special place and the owner was very kind and helpful.

A home from home atmosphere at this cottage with a warm welcome from the owner on arrival, a very clean and well equipped down to the last detail along with a personal touch from the owner.

..highly recommended

We had an extremely comfortable and relaxing stay at Church View Cottage.

The cottage is one of the best we have ever stayed in - clean, modern, comfortable and extremely well equipped. There were some lovely touches as well such as a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge waiting for us when we arrived and a cupboard of board games and DVDs. The cottage is on a working farm and next to a road, but because of where it is situated on the site off an internal courtyard, it is extremely peaceful and the views (as the name implies) of the rolling fields with the church in the distance are lovely. The location is very convenient for several places of interest, such as Spofforth, Harrogate, Fountain's Abbey and Bolton Abbey. The Kestrel Pub, just 5 minutes' drive up the road, serves very tasty food at a reasonable price. Perfect!

Fantastic cottage, with everything you would need.

Beautiful and immaculate furnishings, in a lovely area. We had a lovely few days.
