This small, picturesque Dales village is situated just two miles from Masham in the midst of some of Yorkshire's most beautiful scenery. It comprises a scattering of dwellings and farmsteads, set round a spacious village green, offering an excellent local pub serving fine ales and excellent cuisine. Fearby is ideally situated for exploring all of Yorkshire's splendid countryside, with the Yorkshire Dales to the west and the North York Moors and Yorkshire Coast to the east. In and around the village are a good selection of walks along footpaths and bridleways. Nearby, the historic little market town of Masham is situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale, alongside the River Ure. Set in pretty, rolling farmland, the town boasts a huge market square where a Wednesday market has recently been joined by a popular Saturday market. There are lots of walks around the area, including a recently re-opened ten mile walk along the Ure, arguably one of the best walks in the UK. The town boasts a good range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs and has become best known as the home of two breweries; Theakstons of Old Peculiar fame, and more recently the Black Sheep Brewery, which now brews 11 million pints of beer a year! The popular towns of Ripon and Harrogate are an easy drive away. With so much to see and do in the area, this is a great place for a holiday in all seasons.
