Great short break.

The location was fantastic and the cottage has everything you need. Short walk to the local pub and perfectly placed for touring the Yorkshire Dales

Lovely cottage with a beautiful view.

Two things that spoilt our week was the cleanliness of the property and the shower. Surfaces, basins etc were clean but virtually every corner had cobwebs or hanging dust and other places too. It really needs a good deep clean. The shower was little more than a trickle which was strange as the water pressure downstairs was amazing. Overall a good holiday and would revisit

Malt Shovel cottage is a gem .

We've stayed twice, and on our next trip to Yorhshire, we'll be back. Close to the Dales and an easy drive to the rest of Yorkshire, it's the ideal touring location. We love it. It even has warm, friendly neighbors!

Charming cottage in lovely location by a beck.

The cottage is conveniently situated close to the market town of Bedale. The rooms are light and spacious and very comfortable and the kitchen and dining area is well planned. It’s the ideal location for a relaxing holiday.

Everything was perfect and we certainly intend to book again. The owners even organised fantastic weather for us.

Has everything you need for your stay, the mattress in the double room was quite hard but i had the best sleep ive had in a long time. The village pub is brilliant the landlord and locals really friendly and welcoming. Yes there was a few cobwebs but thats to be expected from a building thats been stood since the 1800's.Will be booking again

Malt Shovel Cottage was a dream - the place had everything that you could think of!

We loved how charming it was, the instructions in the handbook were helpful and clear, the beds comfortable and firm, and the owner communicated with us with kindness and ease. We will be back!!

This was our 5th stay in Malt Shovel Cottage, and we absolutely love this home from home beautiful cottage.

It is located in an idyllic spot, but very convenient for the A1(M) & many nice places to visit, such as Leyburn, Masham, Northallerton, Ripon & Richmond. The cottage is always immaculately clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything you could need to enjoy a holiday there. We have already booked for next year!

We loved being in Malt Shovel Cottage.

Everything worked, we loved the homeiness, the books, the furnishings. We didn't cook, but the provision for cooking was impressive! Plenty of towels, the ability to control the heat, absolutely beautiful setting by the beck.- loved the flowers in the planters. The shower and all appliances worked perfectly.

Had a lovely week exploring the Dales and Malt Shovel Cottage was the ideal base for that.

Am absolute gem of a cottage.

i would go as far as to say it is one of the nicest cottage we have stayed in. The cottage is so unique, very spacious, and comfortable throughout and spotlessly clean. We absolutely loved the outside space with the stream opposite. It is so relaxing watching all the wildlife. It is positioned perfectly to visit all the surrounding areas. It is our 2nd stay at Malt Shovel cottage. We would definitely recommend.

We thought that the accommodation was superb and it is most likely that we will be back.

Lovely, very homely cottage well located to visit North Yorkshire.

The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable. The wood burner was great for a romantic winter stay. Off road parking was good and the setting nextto the river was very pretty. A shame it was so cold as the outdoor seating and dining facilities were very good and would be greatfor a summer stay.

This was our 4th stay in this beautiful cottage and we really love it - when we got home last night we booked again for next October!

It is so comfortable and well equipped, a real home from home, and we love the idyllic and peaceful setting.

Very well resourced with every utensil we needed.

Some cupboards and drawers were full of belongings and coats etc in the wardrobe that had been left behind. Perhaps such items could be removed to make extra space for guests clothing. Otherwise brilliant. Lovely location and very quiet and peaceful.

This is an absolutely gorgeous cottage set in a beautiful and tranquil environment.

The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and we were impressed with all the extra comforts it came with, for example the outdoor seating area with cushions provided. The cottage was very cosy and had great character. We would definitely stay here again. The perfect base to explore Yorkshire.

This is a great property and ideal for exploring the Dales.

The village of Crakehall is also a great base with the Bay Horse pub a short walk away. Although there is a Fishing icon with the property the adjacent Beck cannot be fished

As my wife is allergic to dogs we are always careful to read accomodation desciptions and only book pet free locations.

We belived that Malt Shovel was such a property. I was very upset that shortly after our arrival my wifes allergy symptoms started. We then discover that Pet Free doesnt account for owners bringing dogs into the house. I find this very poor, at best its decitful and malicious, at worst breaches trade decription. I have fed this back on your app but todate have recieved no reponse or compensation which I find extremly dissapointing. As a result of the behaviour of the property owner and the failure to check decription my wife had to take anti allergy medication for our entire hoiliday.

If the owners install a single air conditioning unit in the main room, set to run on heating only, the owners will save a fortune in electricity and make it unnecessary to keep the woodfire burning.
