What a treat to stay here, at The Shippon in Grassington.

It's beautifully appointed and decorated with flair and interest. There's everything you could need for your daily needs and comfort. It's the perfect place to snuggle down in on a wet day, by the woodburning stove, or to return to after a walk, long or short, easy or demanding, directly from the front door. The village centre, minutes away on foot, is very well furnished for cafes, restaurants (offering anything from roast dinners to delicious tapas, and excellent fish and chips) and high quality shops. We were very sad to leave.

Spent a lovely week at the Shippon our second time in this property.

We will definitely book again as we love staying in the village.

Our second stay at the Shippon and still a perfect place to stay… a short walk from the centre of Grassington and even shorter walk to some beautiful walks.

The addition of on site parking rounds off the whole package. The cottage is well maintained, equipped and clean - if in Grassington I can’t imagine stopping anywhere else. …

This was a second visit to this property November / December it was well worth it warm cozy plenty of walks great location to the town just everything in place for a nice relaxing holiday will book again

A lovely cottage in a beautiful village.

We've stayed the last 4 years in December and it's always made us feel "Christmasy"!! Very clean and comfortable with everything you need. With only a short walk to the village centre. Car parking at the cottage is a bonus.

Lovely well appointed cottage in great location in Grassington.

Big bonus is parking spaces for 2 cars otherwise might have been a bit of a nightmare trying to park. Cottage is well equipped with plenty crockery, cutlery and glasses. Outside small patio area a bonus if weather nice. Would certainly return to this cottage without hesitation.

Beautifully decorated and maintained. Exceptionally helpful owners prior to stay. Lovely welcome cake and bottle of wine.

Not a negative point, but the house was very warm with the heating on.

Could be we don't like it as warm. Perfect location, great eating locations just 5 min walk away and the village had such an old world feel especially with the 1940's weekend.

the property is difficult to find as there is no "Shippon" sign.

We have been to the property before but on our first holiday we had to ask the local postman and luckily he knew it was actually called hilltop

This is a fabulous cottage in a splendid location.

The cottage was comfy, well furnished and decorated and fully equipped. It is located in a quiet area of Grassington with parking and is less than a 5 minute walk to pubs, takeaways and shops. Another bonus is the numerous beautiful walks you can do from the doorstep. The countryside is amazing.

Fabulous on every way, very clean and comfortable.

Lots of extra thought eg many good sized mugs, lots of crockery and cutlery so you don't have to wash up frequently. Car parking for 2 cars, easy stroll to the shops etc and walking and cycling from the cottage, couldn't have asked for more.

This is a wonderful cottage, a real home from home, and I didn't want to leave at the end of my stay!

Extremely comfortable beds and lovely cotton sheets. Kitchen has everything you need to self cater, and nice to find a range of baking dish sizes - a steamer insert for the saucepans is the only thing missing (or I couldn't find). Off street parking a definite plus. Generous supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. Definitely a cottage to return to.

A truly gorgeous cottage.

Perfect in many ways, listed below…. Location - just a few minutes walk to Grassington square. Comfort - bed and seating and good heating Facilities- everything thought of and really well equipped. Also lucky enough to have great weather for the week so did plenty of walking - Grass Wood, Hebden, Burnsall, Dales way to Kettlewell. All creatures great and small also being filmed in the village- amazing how they change the look of it. If we stop in Grassington again we’ll definitely stop at the Shippon.

Great location just on the edge of then village centre. Communication and access was excellent and we had a lovely break.

Beautiful cottage!

The lounge was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and it was a 2minute stroll to the lovely village of Grassington with its shops and pubs. Lots of board games too! Would stay again!

Great location within the village with the added bonus of off road parking. So clean comfortable and welcoming with a nice touch of Christmas Decorations. We will certainly return.

We found the property very clean and comfortable with far more equipment than we could possibly use in a week!

Really enjoyed the log-burner and the bird feeders outside the front window. Car parking was a major bonus as parking is difficult in the village even in November. Also we loved how close to all the village amenities the property was, but that it was in a quiet location with lovely views across the valley. Would love to return.

We found the property to be super quiet and very cozy indeed, with all the facilities you would need.

The Welcome folder was great, telling you everything you needed to know, including restaurants, coffee shops etc. It was very central for walks. The village also had a lot to offer. The property listed was exactly what you get and way above our expectations, a great seven days would book again.

Very convenient for enjoying the eateries and lovely shops. It is a great base for exploring this part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The Shippon is a lovely cottage with all the comforts that make it feel home from home.

Comfortable beds and good quality bed linen. Cosy and comfy living room, spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space and a very well appointed kitchen. A few minutes walk to Grassington High Street with good pubs/restaurants and individual shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a stay in the Dales area. Thank you John and Ruth for making our stay so memorable

A beautiful cottage set in the heart of Grassington near to local shops, restaurants and pubs.

The property itself is excellent and well appointed to cover all of your needs. Beds were very comfortable as were the settees in the living room. Kitchen is well appointed with split level cooker and micro wave. Wood stove is available if nights become cold but central heating sufficed on our stay. Would certainly book again and highly recommend staying here.

We loved staying at The Shippon.

The cottage had everything we needed, it was perfectly situated and the views from the wondows were amazing. It was warm and cosy too.

Lovely comfy cottage !

A three minute walk and you're in the village. Lounge is very nice and loved the woodburner ! Bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious. Kitchen has all you need if you decide to eat in. Would have liked a small Christmas tree as we stayed the week before Christmas and missed ours !!

Beautiful house in ideal location to explore the Dales

Really well appointed cottage, all the home comforts and a log burner although it was too warm for us to use it!

And it's in a great location just outside the village, easy to walk to the pubs / restaurants etc but far enough to be quite at night. Can't wait to come back, also as a bonus we got to watch some of the filming for all creatures great and small

The Shippon has it all.

The location is perfect, being a couple of minutes from The Square, but also being very quiet. The cottage has everything you could possibly need whilst away from home. Grassington is full of little coffee shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, and interesting individual shops. Such a bonus having it all so close. We will be returning.

1 Hill Top Fold was a very comfortable house.

There was a great choice of books, DVDs, games and local information. Also there was lots of storage in the bedrooms and well-equipped kitchen. It was really well located in Grassington and there was room to park two cars off the road. A lovely place to stay.

Comfortable, clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. Own parking space and short walk into Grassington, with its independent shops and pubs with good food. It really did “tick all our boxes” for a relaxing break away in a stunning part of the country.

This is an excellent holiday cottage: comfortable, clean, spacious, very well equipped, with a lovely location.

The manual - emailed before and hard copy in the cottage - was the best we've seen. The owners were helpful with info beforehand. I'd got a broken wrist so they prepared the wood burning stove for us - but in the end we didn't need it because the cottage was lovely and warm.

We had a wonderful two night stay in this beautiful cottage, two adults and two children.

We were sad to leave. The welcome gift of a bottle of wine and cake was a lovely surprise. We have stayed in Grassington before and it was nice to have parking. The cottage is immaculate and has everything you would need for a very enjoyable stay. The cottage is very spacious yet still manages to be very cozy. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this cottage. Grassington is very pretty, especially during December with all the Christmas lights.

We had a great time at the cottage as soon as you walk in it felt clean ,cosy ,and we all felt relaxed ,we would like to book it again next year.

Lovely cottage - it was clean, comfortable and very well- equipped.

A welcome gift of wine and lemon drizzle was literally the icing on the cake! Parking in Grassington can be a nightmare so having our own space was a bonus. We had to postpone our stay by a year and Sykes were helpful in sorting this out.

Credit to the owners and there work team , what a lovely ,spotless and comfortable cottage everything to a high standard , set in a beautiful location in grassington, everything on your doorstep ,but also plenty to see in surrounding areas , with stunning walks also on your doorstep, but its lovely to come back to cottage and just sit outside on patio , or bench out the front (Sun trap areas) with a glass of wine or cup of tea overlooking the Dale's, a perfect place to sit and relax,

Only thing missing , could do with some hand rails on front door steps and inside from hall into lounge. Apart from that excellent.

The cottage was lovely with beautiful views on all sides.

Convenient for all the village amenities but tucked away. Ample off-road parking for two cars which is invaluable in Grassington. Immaculately clean and very cosy and warm for our autumn visit. The owners had seemingly thought of everything and had emailed to us all the information we needed well before we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Shippon cottage was perfect - well equipped, clean and comfortable.

The location in Grassington was also ideal. We managed to get out and go on long walks every day to enjoy the beautiful Autumn colours of the Dales. It provided a really welcome break from the Corona crisis! I can't think of anything that the holiday lacked!

This cottage is extremely well stocked with everything you need to cook and enjoy your holiday.

Everything is top quality - the best cottage we've ever stayed in

This is at least third time I have been to this cottage and it never disappoints.

It is clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Ruth the owner has so got it right. Its like a home from home, The location is perfect, close to village centre and local amenities. Grassington is a lovely village, with a great range of restaurants. There are also footpaths in all directions within reasonable walking distance, two to four miles, and further if you are a hardened walker, and pubs/restaurants enroute for lunch. Our latest find was the Craven Arms at Appletreewick, fabulous food.

We booked only the day before we wished to stay at the Shippon and every detail we required was quickly and efficiently emailed to us by Sykes and the owners of the cottage so that we were able to travel easily to the destination and found the cottage as directed.

We were not disappointed on arrival.

The cottage was great, spacious, light, bright and airy.

Info book, maps, books, dvd's, games, a perfect place to stay.

This was our first time in the Yorkshire Dales, it was utterly stunning. Grassington was a real gem, great pubs, cafe's and walks - even during COVID restrictions. Would highly recommend.

The Shippon is an immaculate cottage in a great location, 2 minutes walk from the centre of Grassington.

The set-up in the cottage did everything possible to deal with COVID 19 problems and we felt completely safe. To be highly recommended.

We have been to this cottage several times and honestly it is the gold standard by which all others should be compared.

It was a pleasure staying at the shippon which was nice and peaceful.

Great place for lots of reasons Only one suggestion, if rented for two nights would be good to have wood for the log burner for two nights as it was massively cold whilst there, had to go out to buy some and were heavy to carry back.

The Shippon is a wonderful, cosy, spotless and well-equipped character cottage.

Parking for one car just outside the front door, which is rare in Grassington, and really helps with unloading bags from the car. The cottage is furnished beautifully, and the kitchen is full of quality crockery. Thoughtful touches include a book and DVD collection, puzzles and jigsaws, and a fire with enough wood to keep you going for a chilly night.

The environment is beautiful.

The cottage is well equipped and carefully though out to allow ease of use.

I so loved this cottage, it was a joy to stay in.

It had everything in it to make our stay enjoyable - even provided bird seed to feed the birds, of which there were plenty. You could sit in the mornings in bed, with a cuppa, and look across the Moors. I picked Lilley of the Valley, from the garden, which filled the lounge with their lovely fragrance.

I have stayed at the Shippon on a previous occasion and was equally delighted both times.

The cottage was clean, warm, beautifully furnished. It has outstanding views over the countryside. I was very well equipped and the owners seems to have thought of everything from a hand blender to a coffee grinder. I had taken my own just in case but these were necessary. I will certainly be returning again.

Great cottage in a great location.

Very spacious and comfortable. The only criticism as that the internet router kept failing and had to be reset several times a day. The owners should invest in a better router so that multiple devices can be used at the same time.

We stayed at Shippon Cottage Grassington Yorks.

It was possibly the best so far in our dealings with Sykes.The only problem now is that all being well we have to book an overnight stay somewhere on route as the journey with a picnic break is approx. 6/7 hours which for us is very tiring. Age may wither us but the spirit is strong.

The cottage was very cosy and very well equipped like some logs for the fire dvd’s wel programmed tvmaps en folders on the area really fantastic and we have rented a lot of cottages already and this was one of the best.

The weekend was the Dickensian Weekend which was lovely and even the weather was kind. Plenty of places to eat out on an evening or lunch time, but if you want a night in, what better place to spend it than the Shippon, so warm, cosy and homely. Would definitely stay there again.
