  • "It has one toilet, not too as advertised."

It is not comfortable for three couples, manageable for two. The upstairs bedroom is a loft above the second bedroom! The property needs a better description on how to handle parking! The third couple that we were staying with ended up having to go find their own place! other than that, the locality is walking distance to the center of Harrogate.

It does not state 2 toilets, it says shower & wash basin, as for the upstairs bedroom it does state in the description it is a mezzanine floor which is an open floor, the parking does show on the lamp posts outside the time you can park, also you took our parking disc, Property Owner

  • "Good things - Very central location, easy for my mum to walk to Asda, centre (with lots of places to eat, gardens and galleries) and train and bus stations (which are right next to each other)."

Very clean apartment. Well equipped kitchen, apart from no baking trays / oven dishes. Toilet rolls provided. Showers worked well in both en suites. Not good - Description was wrong - while there I messaged Sykes that there was only one toilet in the whole apartment, they messaged me to say: "I’ve reviewed the property listing, and the description states the following: Three bedrooms: • 1 x double with Smart TV and en‑suite walk‑in shower, basin and WC • 1 x double with Smart TV with en‑suite • 1 x mezzanine level double. Cloakroom. Kitchen/diner. Sitting room." There are only 2 bedrooms - one with a double bed and shower and basin en suite; and one with a double bed as you walk in, another double above that on a mezzanine level (in the same room, with one door to that room), and a shower and basin en suite. There is only one toilet in the whole apartment, in the separate cloakroom, with a basin. I have made an official complaint to Sykes about this after contacting whilst on the holiday, and sending them photos as requested. We booked thinking there would be a toilet en suite for my mum to use, from the description. This was very inconvenient and difficult for her to not have that, and to have to share one toilet with us. The stairway to the first floor apartment had a dirty grey carpet and smelled strongly of cigarettes. Thankfully the apartment itself was very clean and had air freshener diffusers so didn't smell of cigarettes. There was no welcome info in the flat, no instructions about anything such as heating, TV and WiFi. No welcome pint of milk, tea, coffee etc - a welcome folder and stuff to make a cuppa on arrival had been my usual holiday rental experience and would have been helpful. Bedroom blinds - one of the front bedroom blinds did not reach down to the windowsill, there was a gap of several inches - so street lights shone in at night. I contacted the owner via Sykes, and sent photos as the owner requested. The owner replied that this was how the blind was. We had to put a pillow under/ behind the blind at night to block light. The living room TV was so high on the wall that it gave us a cricked neck. The TV in the back bedroom was not watchable from the right side of the bed. Mirrors - in the back bedroom it was above one side of the bed where there was no room to stand and nowhere to put anything (make up/ hair dryer etc) and could have been put above the chest of drawers opposite instead. The mirror in the cloakroom was directly behind the toilet. We didn't have a car with us. There are parking restrictions on all the roads by the apartment. Our road was 3 hours in a 24 hour period, Monday to Friday or Saturday daytime. When we visited the Tourist Info they had parking discs, which were free to take and have to be displayed when parking in a disc zone to avoid a parking ticket (we asked what they were as they look like blue badge discs). There was no mention of this in the listing or at the flat. There were 36 photos of boxing matches in the apartment, some in every room. You can see some in the listing photos but I hadn't appreciated how many there would be. It wasn't relaxing. The neighbours upstairs were very loud above the front bedroom - not partying but talking loudly into the early hours, and then vacuuming or playing music early mornings including 730am on the Sunday.

The apartment clearly shows what is in the en suite, maybe you should have checked this before booking, also the neighbours have a right to live they are flats. There is ample cupboards to put accessories on in the bedrooms, As for tea, coffee etc. maybe try find another accommodation in harrogate for the price you paid, good luck, You left all your dirty rubbish in the kitchen, so when I arrived the kitchen smelt terrible, and you left a dirty oven, I do not wish to have guests stay at our properties like you, who just nit pick at minor issues,The wifi password was clearly stuck on the kitchen wall. The heating control is self explanatory on/ off up/ down for temperature. As you said you didn’t have a car with you so why was this a problem to you, Property Owner

  • "First and only obstacle we had was the parking , needs to made more clear where and when you can park ."

Note : do your homework on parking restrictions in the area. Property itself is easily accessible (although accessed by stairs) and immaculate and clean throughout. Bedrooms were well equipped and comfy beds . Kitchen facilities first thoughts no instructions left but appliances are easy to use. Added bonus having 3 tvs throughout the property. Bathroom facilities are very good. Overall the property is very nice and clean , easy access to town centre and transport facilities. Very good value for money , would definitely recommend it. Couple things could benefit: info regarding bin days , recycle and maybe some waste bins in the bathroom/bedrooms ! Definitely on the to go back to list
