  • "Delightfully charming, cottage overlooks the river and is absolutely gorgeous and spacious, yet homely with everything you could possibly need and more, from pots and pans to bird feed for you to feed the many visiting birds, ducks and squirrels."

The garden and in particular the bedroom balcony, is a wonderful space to sit and relax and enjoy listening to the sounds of the river and watching the wildlife, was wonderful to see the daily visit from the woodpecker and heron. The welcome hamper provided was a lovely gesture, as was the arranged delivery of milk and orange juice from the milkman for us to use throughout our stay. Many other thoughtful extras were provided in the cottage from dvds, books, selection of puzzles and games, with the icing on the cake being the games room with the pool table, which provided all the family with much competitive entertainment at the end of our day. The surrounding area itself is very picturesque with many walks right from the doorstep, we only used the car twice, once to stock up on groceries from a supermarket (only a 15 minute drive away) and to walk one of the Three Peaks. . A true gem of a cottage in a beautiful area with the quaint Haworth only a short, albeit steep, hill walk away. A place where one can truly relax and unwind, or venture out to explore the stunning landscapes. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer, we would not hesitate in returning or recommending to others. Delightful. The 'Graham' Family

  • "Had a wonderful experience."

Only two issues - 1) The twin room is more suited to children rather than adults in their 50s/60s - I would suggest some reference is made to this fact. 2) Walk to the village (Main Street) is only two minutes? - for someone in the 50s/60s it was closer to 12/15 minutes given the elevation difference. Thank you for your feedback. Please be assured the twin beds are large single size 3' x 6'3''. The property description does say short walk into Haworth not 2 minutes. Property Owner

  • "Perfect in every way."

The cottage was beautiful, cosy, comfortable, extremely well stocked with everything we needed and very clean. The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure their cottage is enjoyed by their guests. Their thoughtful touches - the delicious welcome basket and toys/bike left out for our young daughter - were very gratefully received. My husband was beyond happy with the games room/bar and the outside garden area by the river was a dream. The bedroom balcony with an arm chair overlooking the river was also a nice touch and a lovely spot to relax in. I initially chose the cottage because of its location - great walks on the doorstep and a quick walk into the wonderful Haworth village - which was ideal for getting around without needing to drive. There is also a lovely park 10 mins walk away with a great kids playgrounds. All in all a wonderful stay and by far the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. Loved it all! Thank you. We’ll be back.

  • "We have always holidayed with Forest Holidays."

This holiday was for our elderly dog who we are sure will not accompany us on any more holidays. To say this was our best holiday ever is an understatement. Everything, from booking, to departure was perfect - thank you all so much. We will return sadly without our 4 legged person.

  • "This was a fantastic property, very comfortable, cosy, very well equipped and so peaceful."

We particularly loved the games room/bar and spent many fun hours in there. We've stayed in many holiday cottages and this is probably the best so far.

  • "Simply amazing cottage and facilities that exceeded our expectations."

I can't think of one thing I could suggest to enhance our stay. The surrounding area is picturesque and the cottage sits in the middle of it with a stream running out the front. The games room is perfect for any sporting enthusiast with Sky sports on a 65+ inch TV including darts and pool. The House itself is equipped with everything you could want also - the log burner makes for a really cozy experience and the bedrooms are all great sizes spread across 2 'wings' making it perfect for 2 families to stay. The kitchen/dining area is large and a great space for both cooking and socialising. I hope to return, and will certainly be recommending to friends.

  • "This was our second visit to Springhead cottage and we miss it already."

It ticks all the boxes for all the family. The games room is fantastic and is very handy for a rainy day. It was lovely to have the log fire burning away looking out through the window whilst it snowed. Lots of places to visit and some great pubs serving home cooked food. Looking forward to planning our next visit.

  • "Stayed at Springhead Cottage recently as a catch up weekend with some friends, It was a really cosy and clean place in a beautiful surrounding."

It had all of the little added touches which made us feel really comfortable, never seen such a well catered for holiday accommodation! From having a baking spatula to get perfect scrambled eggs to having a well stocked bar and games room with Sky Sports, not forgetting everything in-between. Credit to the Deborah, the host who made us feel welcome and had good communication when we asked about using the log burner. Picturesque Haworth is a 20 minute walk up the hill where you will find a good selection of pubs and independent shops. Already planning to revisit Springhead!

  • "Springhead Cottage was a perfect retreat for our family vacation."

Picture postcard pretty and very comfortable. Location excellent. Apart from a trip to Skipton our cars were not used as there were so many pretty walks from the doorstep. We loved seeing the cows come to the river for their morning and evening drink. The games room provided great entertainment shooting pool. We will definately be back. Thank you

Situation is great, next to the river. The description doesn’t say “enclosed garden”, but you can close the gates. Also, you are able to close the kitchen doors to secure dogs overnight. The owners went above and beyond with their service. Thank you!

  • "Our stay at springhead was lovely."

The cottage is in an ideal setting. I very much enjoyed having a cup of tea outside in the morning next to the river. The house was full of everything we could need for our stay and the welcome pack was lovely. I would suggest that they might want to keep a basic larder of oil, salt and pepper in the cottage. The rooms were all lovely, big and cosy. The beds were comfortable, although I would recommend changing the bed sheets which felt a bit like plastic. We had a lot of fun playing pool and darts, and the garage was a lovely place to spend time, the stocked bar was great, again I would recommend having a locked honesty box in the garage for guests to add some money towards upkeep of the booze. We weren't sure where to leave it. It may also be worth protecting the wall under the dart board from stray darts. The surrounding area was great, the hills were a bit of a shock to the system but by the end of the week we had thighs of steel. The walk to Haworth is 15mins and the main Street is full of lovely shops and places to eat. There are some wonderful walks direct from the cottage and even a little waterfall nearby.

About the location

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
