Penistone View

This cottage is a real gem.

Comfy, cosy, well maintained and equipped, with loads of character and all you could need. It's in an ideal location in Oxenhope, which is peaceful for a quiet getaway but only a short drive to all the places you might want to go to. Beautiful walks right from the front door, and there is also Penistone Park only a few minutes away for many more walking options. It also has a lovely garden, with a great secluded area at the bottom for relaxing and great view. The owner, Geraldine, could not have done more to ensure we had a great time. Friendly and helpful communications, and lots of ideas of what to do. The cottage was spotlessly clean and we were made to feel so at home. Many thanks for a great break! Tom, Jo, and Tess the dog

We had a great weekend at Penistone view, the cottage is so lovely, even better than the pictures, very comfy beds and the garden is lovely - we had great weather to enjoy it.

Great location, lovely local amenities just a short walk, play area, pub, shop, fish and chips and great walks, plus the steam train to travel to other areas. Definitely recommend a stay here

First time here , probably won't be the last .

Excellent cottage, lovely and clean , everything you could possibly want supplied. Brilliant garden for humans and pets , plenty of things to do around the area . Be aware the staircase is steep that's my only comment . For drivers just be aware the area is very hilly , very bendy and cars park all over the place so your constantly giving way , but your end destination makes the journeys worth it . The owner was very helpful with everything and a lovely gift basket when you arrive .

Our stay at Penistone View was an incredibly lovely one.

Beautiful location & views - especially from the comfortable seating area in the back garden. Fell in love with the cottage as soon as we walked through the front door! So full of charm, well decorated & everything we could need at our disposal. Including a thoughtful welcome hamper, not only for us but one for our dog too. Beds were comfortable, ample storage space for clothes etc & an amazing shower! Penistone View really is a delight & we would (& already have!) thoroughly recommend it as a beautiful home away from home. Also to note, two of the loveliest next door neighbours we have ever met on our travels. Our heartfelt thanks go to G - the homeowner, not only for providing us such a lovely place to stay - but for her thoughtful communication. We enjoyed every moment.

A well kept, clean and well equipped cottage - had everything we needed.

Lovely garden, although the weather didn't allow us to make much use of it, but a great view from the kitchen out over the garden and valley. Great communication from the owners. One note of information for future guests - there's room to park a small car in front of the cottage, but if you have a longer car, as we do, you'll need to find a spot up towards the end of the road to avoid encroaching on other residents parking. We found this straightforward - only a couple of mins walk away.

The cottage was spotless, beautifully presented, incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. It was clear a lot of care and attention has gone into making it a home from home. As dog owners, we particularly appreciated how dog friendly everything was. It made such a difference knowing our dogs were just as welcome as we were, and they loved every minute of the holiday too. The location was perfect, with so many beautiful places to explore nearby. It was exactly the peaceful escape we were looking for and gave us the chance to completely switch off and recharge. A special mention must go to Geraldine, whose communication was exceptional from start to finish. She was incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, pointing us in the right direction for local walks, attractions and places to visit. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for such a fantastic stay. We have made some lovely memories and are already looking forward to returning. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage and can’t wait to come back ourselves!

Lovely cottage, close to all the immediate areas that we wanted to go so Skipton had a lovely market on, Howarth and Penistone valley for walking the dog.

Hebdon Bridge was nice very busy with the weather being lovley. We would go back next time we visit. Nice welcome pack left for us.

I booked this property for my daughter who's review is as follows: We had a wonderful time at Penistone View, amazing views and amenities close by.

Lots of pubs in walking distance and Keighley close by. We especially enjoyed the proximity to Penistone Country Park, so many amazing walks include the Bronte waterfalls and Top Withins so close by. Highly recommended for walkers and those with dogs, the hosts made us feel very welcome, especially with our furry friends! A big thank you from myself, my partner and our whippets. Also a big thank you from Mum for sorting out the little wasp issue so very quickly and for giving my daughter such a lovely break. We will be back to visit ourselves.

Excellent cottage, spotlessly clean & well equipped.

Communication from the owner was exceptional from start to finish. Lovely treats left for both ourselves & our dog. Furniture & beds were very comfortable. We are familiar with the area & visited Hebden Bridge, Sowerby Bridge and spent most of one day on the train (Rover ticket very good value). Excellent lunch at the Robin Hood in Pecket Well. Parking outside was simple & convenient. We didn't use the rear garden because of showery weather but would have been a little wary of doing so because we felt that our little dog could probably escape through the rails of the fence on 1 side. Overall a lovely place to stay which we would have no hesitation in recommending.

An external light at back door would help at night as steps are quite steep.

A very lovely cottage so thoughtfully decorated.

Everything supplied to settle you in. The dogs loved it, really is a home from home for dogs. Comfortable sofa and chairs and great beds. Nothing to fault we loved it.

A perfect accommodation that I would recommend without hesitation.

The owner, Geraldine, has thought of everything and was super attentive before and after our visit. A beautiful welcome basket awaited us on arrival. Our two pups were made to feel right at home with thoughtful treats and towels for muddy paws. They settled in so easily - which speaks volumes. This is clearly a labour of love for Geraldine and her hard work really shows. We are already considering a revisit in the summer so that we can take advantage of the garden next time .

Our 2nd time going to this nice cosy little cottage and can’t fault it at all in any way , maybe a lock on the bathroom door but that’s it We will definitely be going again in 2027 !

This is probably the best dog friendly cottage we have stayed in.

Beautifully and thoughtfully prepared, with everything we needed. The communication from Geraldine and Andy was excellent and made our arrival simple. Also the welcome pack was a lovely surprise. The garden is great and very secure. A real bonus is the multiple walks straight from the door. An easy walk to Haworth and a steam train back to Oxenhope! Great little pub in the village. A big surprise was how close Bolton Abbey was- 35 minute drive. Keighley Cliffe Castle Park 10 minutes, and Hebden Bridge 15 minutes. So this little place is in a perfect position to explore. Thank you. We had a great holiday and the effort made by the hosts was very evident and a big part of that.

Everything worked smoothly.

The house was beautiful and very comfortable. There was a surprise welcome pack which was very thoughtful. Lola the dog enjoyed the blankets, towels and treats provided for her. I would warmly recommend Pennistone View for a stay in Bronte Country. It is near enough also to walk in the Yorkshire Dales

This cottage truly felt like a home from home.

Every comfort has been thought of, from a well-stocked kitchen to cozy furnishings. The bed and sofa were exceptionally comfortable, and the powerful shower was a welcome treat. Evenings spent in the tranquil garden, taking in the serene view across the fields, made our stay especially memorable. The owner was so friendly and helpful, offering great local recommendations that made exploring the area even more enjoyable. It was also so lovely that our dogs were made to feel so welcome, with thoughtful touches like treats and blankets so they could cuddle up and feel at home too.

Lovely cottage, perfectly equipped with everything we needed.

The bed was super comfy, felt extremely relaxed. We didn't have very good weather when we stayed, but on a lovely sunny evening, the outdoor table and chairs at the bottom of the garden would be spot on! The host, Geraldine was very helpful with local recommendations of pubs/cafes etc and also lovely walks.

Penistone View is just lovely.

The decor is lovely, it had everything we needed and Geraldine left some lovely treats for both us and our dogs. It has great views and a lovely, secure garden too. The village is peaceful and there are some lovely walks (and pubs!) in the area. We will definitely return.

Property was as described, with on road parking available outside.

The lounge has a log burner which we used and made the room cosy in the evening. Kitchen was equipped with everything you need, and we really liked the fact the oven was raised off the ground so you didn’t have to bend down to use it. Useful breakfast type bar which was great to sit at whilst cooking. Main bedroom had a super comfy bed, we didn’t use the second bedroom except to put our clothes in. Bathroom shower was really powerful with a heated towel rail near by. The long back garden was nice with lovely views, the garden furniture had all been covered up for winter which was fair enough as it wasn’t warm enough on our visit to want to use it. It’s fully enclosed for anyone visiting with dogs. Small garden at the front which is also fully enclosed. As you walk out to the garden the neighbour to the right was really friendly and told us not to worry about the occasional barking from our 11 year old Shapso ! As mentioned there was a log burner which warmed downstairs, but also central heating which was straight forward to use to heat the rest of the cottage.

Fantastic property, exactly as listed.

Fantastic hosts, very tentative and accommodating! The only down side is, if you are in more than one car the street is limited for parking and the neighbours don’t like their space being taken.

This is the most beautiful cottage in a lovely little village. Shop, pub and chip shop all within walking distance. So quiet and peaceful and only short drives from some wonderful places...so an ideal base. The cottage was equipped with just about everything you could possibly need! Super clean, very tastefully decorated and the welcome basket was such a lovely touch. Geraldine was so friendly and helpful, an amazing host! We will definitely stay here again....we really didn't want to leave.

Sitting in the garden in the evening sun with a fabulous view is exactly what was required. Hosts were so kind & accommodating. An excellent position for lovely walks.

The cottage has a delightful back garden with lovely views, and good walking routes on the doorstep. A great base for exploring the area. The local pub has a cracking selection of ales, and the chip shop is well worth a try. We were made to feel very welcome by Geraldine & Andy, and don't hesitate to recommend Penistone View to anyone looking to take a break in Bronte Country.

Really enjoyed staying in the cottage and exploring the area.

The walk o Haworth by the river and the railway was a favourite. But we also had wonderful day trips to Hebden Bridge and Ilkley. Joni, the dog loved the garden and all her walks in the countryside. We popped into the Bay Horse for a drink on the sunny evenings.

Excellent cottage , so relaxing and comfortable and very dog friendly all the little touches dog treats, bowls, towels and throws really did make it a step above other cottages!

Lovely thoughtful welcome basket- something for everyone, wine, eggs, bread ,dog treats and Easter treats. Comfortable beds , powerful shower , cosy lounge with fire. Geraldine was on hand with recommendations should you need. Beautiful area too, lots of nice walks , found a lovely walk along the railway/river into Haworth and enjoyed a wonderful meal at Pave . Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to family and friends and can not wait to return ! Thank you

Beds comfy, spotlessly clean, host thought of everything to make it a pleasant stay, like home from home.

Well equipped and there was a welcome pack for us and our dog which was a lovely surprise. Couldn’t ask for more beautiful location and lovely cottage and perfect for our dog with lots of walks around the cottage. Neighbours very helpful and friendly lovely people. Harvey and Walter the dog were very friendly too. Host contacted us to check all was okay and if we needed anything. Couldn’t ask for better. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

The cottage was charming and renovated to a very high standard.

The owners are clearly dog owners and we felt we were very welcome, including the dogs. There were bowls, treats and throws for the sofa- it’s those small personal touches that make this cottage lovely. Not to mention the fabulous bread and wine they left for us. The garden is secure and there’s some handy fields behind the road for the dogs. The local pub was very welcoming and reasonable. The local chippy was equally as welcoming with a good range of veggie options. A very lovely cottage and we will definitely be going back. .

The cottage is really well appointed and extremely comfortable, and great that dogs are properly welcome too. The welcome pack of eggs, bread, wine and dog treats was the icing on the cake. Thank you, we hope to return again at some point in the future.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the cottage.

It was a perfect base to visit nearby places. We enjoyed some lovely walks with the dogs. The dogs enjoyed the enclosed garden and sleeping infront of the log burner fire after a busy day. The cottage itself is charming and quirky with nice dog friendly touches.we had a fab stay and would recommend if wanting to visit the area. Little things to know before you go: - there is a pub, fish and chip shop and a co-op down the road within walking distance - there are loads of nice touches for dogs including bowls, biscuits, blankets so they can cosy up with you on the sofa - take extra logs if you want to use the fire (we recommend as it was very cosy) - a few steps down into the garden can be slippery - low wall at end of garden could be an issue for larger dogs or dogs that like to jump - stairs inside can be slippy too but very manageable if being mindful - parking is a little tight but again manageable we were never able not to park but it's parallel parking outside the property

Nothing to report. Hopefully will be back in the future. Lovely little cottage. Everything that we needed. Oh except a washing machine that I never checked to see if there was one. My bad. Just gave us an excuse to go shopping!! Close to lots of lovely places. Highly recommend.

Stepping over the threshold of Penistone View, immediately your spirits rise and tension drops.

Penistone delights in every way from the thoughtful welcome hamper in the kitchen, cosy pink sofa, comfortable beds and log burner to toast our toes. We rested very well after our walks and it was wonderful to be able to let our little Jack Russell explore the garden, knowing it was secure. We stayed pretty local enjoying walks around the village, exploring local history and revisiting our favourite places, the markets at Hebden Bridge, Todmorden and Haworth. Local pub, dog friendly Bay Horse Inn just a short walk away was excellent as is the fish and chip shop -very tasty. Geraldine and Andy proved to be thoughtful and attentive and they made sure we were happy and content. I highly recommend Penistone View with just one problem - we didn’t want to leave! Thanks again

The cottage is beautiful and the owners have thought of every detail to make it as comfortable as possible. For us, being doggy friendly is very important and Penistone View is definitely that, The welcome hamper was personalised for our two pooches as well as for ourselves. The decor is amazing and has everything for modern living but has been sensitively set out in keeping with the age of the property with exposed stone walls. The cottage is very cosy and clean with a lovely log burner, super comfortable beds and the bathroom has a great shower as well as a bath to relax in after a day exploring. The neighbours are very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a daily chat over the fence as our dogs said hello. The location is perfect - close to Hebden Bridge and Haworth is a must see with the Bronte parsonage and fabulous independent shops. The village pub (Bay Horse) is very dog friendly, as are the local people and the local Fish and Chip shop offers delicious food. The owners went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay from the start of our stay until the time we left . We just wish we could have stayed longer! We definitely intend to return in the future, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Penistone View is a great little Cottage and a fantastic base for numerous walks with your four legged friends ,friendly neighbours and the owners are generous and very helpful .

Recently stayed 4 nights at this beautiful little cottage.

Everything is so well thought out for a lovely dog friendly stay, even down to throws provided for the sofa. Lovely welcome basket which was much appreciated and communication with owner was excellent. The cottage is ideally situated for all the attractions in the area and Oxenhope is a lovely little village in itself. The cottage was really well equipped with everything you could need and the bed was really comfy with nice linen and bedding. We really enjoyed our stay and will definately be back.

We had a lovely break at the cottage and was impressed with the contact from the owner, who was keen to check everything was ok.

The welcome gifts were a nice touch and enjoyed by both us and our fur babies who also enjoyed the outside space. The location is ideal for walks from the property and visiting attractions locally. Finally, although the street parking might deter some we had absolutely no issues and we have quite a large car. We would certainly use the property again for a similar break

The owner Geraldine was fabulous to deal with from start to finish, she knew it was my mums birthday weekend so decorated the cottage for us upon arrival which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture, the welcome basket of local goodies was a treat. Garden was beautiful, loved watching the birds. Lovely day out at hebden bridge. Our dog loved lounging infront of the log burner as the nights got chilly as did we! Neighbours were friendly and moved there car for us so we could park directly outside the cottage which was kind. Thank you for a lovely stay. Would highly recommend.

Really appreciated the welcome basket of goodies - so did the dogs. Lots of walking options on the doorstep and good bus system too. The local pub was fun on Wednesday music night. We only booked for three nights - will definitely stay longer next time!

Just got back from the most relaxing week at Penistone View, the cottage was perfect, spotlessly clean, totally secure lovely garden for Amber our cockerpoo and perfectly situated to explore the local area.

The steam train which starts at Oxenhope is a must, it goes to Keighley and stops at Haworth, also Hebden Bridge is close by,with lovely canal walk and plenty of places to eat and drink, we mainly relaxed at the cottage on an evening with a glass of wine. A perfect cottage with lovely neighbours.

We have just returned from a most relaxing trip to North Yorkshire.

We had the pleasure of staying in Penistone View in Oxenhope. Penistone View was everything the photos and descriptions said and so much more. The cottage was pristine both inside and out. The pretty cottage garden was teaming with shrubs and the wildlife that visited was a joy to see, which we were able to do on the lovely garden furniture. Inside the cottage, it really was home from home with everything you needed. It was cosy and warm as the heating system was great - the weather was rather wet but this did not spoil our holiday. There were plenty of throws if needed for the furniture there was even books and an array of games to use. The hamper Geraldine left us was just gorgeous with beautiful fresh eggs, a lovely bottle of wine amongst other treats and even treats for our dog- with his name on

We've just returned from a brilliant stay at Penistone View.

The property was spotlessly clean on arrival, a really comfortable bed and a gorgeous rear garden where we were lucky (with the Yorkshire weather) to be able to spend a few hours each day relaxing there. The local area has lots to do & see, and the local pub is really friendly and welcoming, with great beer too. Alas no food is served at the local pub but there is one a mile or so away that does served great food. We also sampled the local fish & chips (open Thus-Sat) and they were good ! A shout out to the brilliant owners who made us feel really welcome and provided a lovely 'get you in pack' of the essentials as well as dog treats. They also highlighted a number of local options for us, like the B3 bus that can get you all around Bronte country for max fare of £2 - great if you fancy a beer or glass of wine in one of Haworth's friendly pubs. In summary, a great stay and we hope to return again in not too distant future. Dale & Andrea

What a fabulous find.

Beautiful and well-equipped, truly dog- friendly cottage in a peaceful setting. The cottage had everything we needed for two adults and two dogs. No problem parking directly outside either. Geraldine (the owner) proactively communicated and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed (information and amenities) at the outset so we could make the most of our wonderful stay. This included a welcome basket for us and the dogs! The cottage has a lovely enclosed garden, overlooking fields, and is set in the super-friendly village of Oxenhope. The Bay Horse pub (drinks only) was so welcoming, dog friendly and had a real community buzz. Some lovely walks from the doorstep and a trip on the Worth Valley Steam Railway to Howarth was a must for all four of us! on our 'must re-visit' list.

Ideally located, with many good walks to enjoy and a short drive away from other local places of interest. The cottage was cosy and the facilities provided were all I could need. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing break. Geraldine very receptive and helpful during our stay. Great location for exploring local areas of interest. Good fish and chip shop, friendly pub and local Co-op just a short walk from cottage.

Very sweet, comfortable cottage.

Owner Geraldine has a very good eye for detail - loved the bright pink settee. 2 comfortable double beds. Again, nicely decorated rooms. Everything you could need is covered, and information as to how things work, where spare batteries, bulbs are etc. we were kindly left a welcome hamper, with local eggs, bread, wine and seasonal chocolate. Lots of eating, drinking options in Haworth. Taxis extremely cheap (Brontë taxis). Bay horse in Oxenhope, sells good ale, again far cheaper than where I live. open mike night was particularly good. Would highly recommend this pet friendly cottage . Great walking country.

The cottage is beautiful; cosy, well equipped , and very dog friendly. On arrival there was an amazing welcome pack waiting for us containing eggs, homemade cake etc (including treats for our dog Buddy) . The owner checked in by text to ensure all was OK . The location is great; lots of walks from the front door and walking distance to Haworth . The pub up the road is very friendly and allows dogs. Penistone View is a little gem - 5 star experience!

The very best pet friendly cottage I've ever stayed in!

Excellent, 10 out of 10. Literally so fabulous that I've already booked to return in a few weeks. Me and my Puppy loved it. Log burner was so cosy and with stone floor I didn't have to worry so much about muddy boots, and dog! ( Floor was not freezing cold either). Kitchen nice and straight forward, had everything to ou needed to cook, without fancy gadgets to get to grips with. Bedrooms wonderfully cosy, with super comfy beds. Bed and shower, fab! Best thing was secure garden, didn't have to worry about letting my puppy (9 month Lab) out to roam free. So convenient. And to top it all, thoughtful welcome basket,nearly check-in and excellent communication with host, Geraldine. If you are considering a stay at Penistone View, get it booked! You will not be disappointed. Ps. Fantastic walks for doggies up on Penistone Hill, and finally, no problem parking directly outside property for one car. Can't wait to return, thank you!

This beautiful cottage was kitted out with the best of quality.

The bed was very comfortable, I could have stayed in it all day ! Every attention to detail was carefully considered and administered . The towels were soft and fluffy, bed sheets were of great quality , plenty of cosy throws to snuggle up with. The welcome basket was the best I've seen , lovely treats for myself, my daughter and doggy too ! Fresh eggs, fresh milk etc. It was all really appreciated and made us feel so happy and cared for. There is parking directly outside the door and a garden for the dog, I can see it would be a joy to sit in with better weather though . Thank you so much from us all Geraldine, it was a really wonderful stay and I look forward to visiting again soon !

Loved it and already looking at dates to book again.

Slight issue with the central heating but the owners could not have done more. One phone call and they arrived with sacks of wood for the log burner, electric heaters and plumber on his way. Sorted. Penistone view is a beautiful holiday cottage, in a perfect location for visiting Haworth and exploring the surrounding areas of Yorkshire.

The host was exceptional at keeping in touch and was easy to contact should we need anything at all. The cottage itself is tastefully decorated to a very high standard, and has everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We loved everything about Penistone view including the fully secure garden which meant we could let our two small dogs out with no worry of them escaping! The owner provided everything that was needed to enjoy the stay with our dogs including throws for the sofa, dog towel and treats - as well as a very generous welcome basket for us all to enjoy. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a genuinely dog friendly, relaxing stay in this part of a Yorkshire.

The attention to detail is wonderful with lovely decor and furnishings, so comfy and cosy. The garden is perfect with views on to a field where you can walk your dog. The cottage was the perfect place to return to and relax, after spending long days exploring all that's on offer.

It's located around some brilliant country walks and some quaint villages and towns. It is well-equipped and has all you need for a relaxing break away. We would love to return and have recommended it to the family.

The cottage was exactly what we needed for a holiday with our dog.

It was comfortable and set up so you could easily clean muddy paws etc. The welcome pack was great to arrive to. The garden had lovely views and the neighbours were friendly. There were plenty of nice walks from the front door and nearby to the village, as well as lots to visit a bit further afield. The Worth Valley steam train was just down the road, Haworth and the moors a walk away, and bustling Hebden bridge a pretty drive or bus ride away. The Brontë bus is great, you could potentially not use your car at all. I would highly recommend this cottage.

This is one of the loveliest cottages that we've stayed in (and there's been a few!

). Spotless and well equipped with the bonus of a well thought out and much appreciated Welcome Pack. As it was a late heatwave when we were there, we really appreciated the cool of the stone cottage and being able to relax in the garden. I should imagine it will be cosy in the colder weather with the stove. Ideally placed for moorland walks and visits to local towns. The village also has a very friendly pub (no food) and an excellent Fish & Chip shop.

What a lovely little hidden gem - the pet-friendly property oozes charm and is elegantly decorated - the little touches around this cosy property make your stay feel more like home-from-home.

The cottage is comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and cosy lounge (complete with log burner!). Bedrooms were snug and provided an excellent night's sleep. Lovely garden with lounge seating, perfect for star gazing. Lots to do in the area with a cracking pub and chip shop five minutes walk away. The thoughtful gift basket on arrival was a wonderful surprise.

We had a lovely two week break at Pennistone View and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone else.

The owners went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay and the Cottage did not disappoint. Excellent facilities and a lovely welcome pack for us and our Dog.

The cottage was exceptionally clean well equipped and comfortable. The dogs were made welcome with treats biscuits towels and throws for the furniture. The garden was secure even for 2 small Jack Russells. The village is full of interest and lots of amazing walks. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday.

The property is exactly as advertised but so much more - you don’t get the full sense of how homely, well planned and organised it is until you step over the threshold.

The welcome package is well thought out, even including dog treats. Another first for me staying at dog friendly accommodations, is the availability of extra blankets for the furniture in case you have dogs who will insist on sitting on it - I’ll mention no names. The beds are extremely comfortable. The blinds completely block light which is great and the silence of a night is deafening. The water pressure is great. The curious bath shape is weird but works really well - although staring at meself in the mirror (on the back of the door opposite the loo) whilst on the loo led to me leaving the door ajar

There was everything we needed there both for us and our dogs, including throws for the sofa as they ‘know our dogs would like to snuggle up’ and treats for us all. The cottage was pristine and beautifully decorated. Geraldine made a point of ringing me to let me know we could check in early, which was nice. The outdoor garden furniture provided a lovely, comfy place to sit and relax and watch nature and look at the views. Parking is street parking but residents respect a space outside the cottage and you can park a second car further up the lane where the houses end. All I would say, is that anyone with bad knees or such like, might struggle with the stairs a little, as they are steep and there is no handrail. I’ve had a knee replacement and managed though. Really comfy beds and the shower was lovely, and great water pressure (nothing worse than a weak shower!). The pub round the corner does good real ale and that and the Co-op are both walkable. You are also only a stones throw from Haworth. All in all a relaxing, peaceful stay and I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Lovely cottage in a nice area.

Particularly grateful for the welcome pack of goodies! One thing to bear in mind though is that for anyone with any physical difficulties (not us, I'm glad to say!), the stairs may be hard to manage.

Beautiful property with ideal location.

Perfect for walking and super close to KWVR where we spent the weekend at the steam gala. The cottage was beautifully clean and all the facilities were excellent. The addition of the log burning fire was a welcomed addition especially during the last week's snow! We particularly enjoyed the enclosed rear garden so we could safely let our dog out without worry of him trying to escape. The bed was super comfy and we also enjoyed the large bath too. All the facilities in the local town are excellent with only a 10 minute walk to the local co-op and about 4 minutes to the nearest pub. We would love to come and stay again. Geraldine and Andy were perfect hosts! 10/10 would recommend to any couple/family wanting a relaxing break

The cottage was like a home from home.

It felt cosy and warm from the minute we walked in. The owners have thought of everything and the special touches - welcome basket and treats for both humans and furry people was perfect! We will definitely be returning - was a pleasure to stay here!

We had a fabulous time in this lovely part of the UK.

We were a party of 2 Adults, 2 Children and a dog. Cottage was lovely, plenty of room for us all and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beds are super comfy and the log burner was great when back from walking. Back garden was perfect for the dog, the weather meant we didn’t use ourselves, but it has great views so would be lovely in the summer I am sure. Village is really nice, great walks from the doorstep, and the added benefit of the Steam Train in the village was fab for the children. Also some lovely pubs in the area serving great food, especially liked the Waggon and Horses Inn (dog friendly). Hosts were brilliant, friendly and helpful. Lovely welcome basket. Would definitely highly recommend.

The cottage is well appointed and a cosy little bolt hole. You have decorated it beautifully and we loved the stone work! Proper Yorkshire! The three of us were all really pleased with the choice . It was near enough for us to visit family but still have space for a holiday too! As hosts you were very helpful keeping in contact to check things were ok. The garden was great for our pooch Isla meant we weren’t stressing about main roads etc , just a shame we couldn’t have made more use of it ….. maybe a summer hol next !! ( I’m just hoping we cleared up after her properly and didn’t miss anything

Hosts were available if required and were pleasant throughout all contact. Cottage done to a good standard, clean and cosy. Some nice touches such as a welcome basket and dog treats. The area is also good if you are happy with a slow paced retreat. Some nice walks, good pubs are easily accessible. Many places are dog friendly. The nearby village of Haworth is worth a walk for a day out. Of note there is no washing machine if you are staying longer or have some bad weather. Wasn't an issue for us the wife packed plenty of clothes for the kids!

We cannot fault our stay at Penistone View.

The cottage was warm, comfortable and homely. It was the attention to detail that made all the difference... a fire the night we arrived, comfortable bed, big towels (inadequate towels are so often a complaint on holiday but not here) and the lovely welcome basket of goodies. Thank you Geraldine and Andy we really hope we are back before too long.

Thoughtful and generous welcome pack on arrival. Friendly neighbours ,everything you need right on the doorstep Lovely trips out to Skipton and Hebden Bridge, walks to beautiful nearby Haworth and trips on the Steam train from Oxenhope. We enjoyed tasty food at the Wagon & Horses in village & Pave in Haworth, also village Fish & Chip shop not to be missed, top this with the added bonus of excellent hosts what's not to like. We highly recommend a holiday at Penistone View

Really super cottage, very comfortable and well thought out.

The hosts were very accommodating and thoughtful... even left a welcome basket of goodies which was much appreciated after our long drive to get to there! Highly recommend a stay in such a lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country and the bonus was it was great for dogs too!

A quaint little cottage with views for miles.

The gift basket provided by Geraldine & Andy was a lovely personal touch and very much appreciated, even our 2 dogs were given treats. The cottage itself has everything you would need and the bed was very comfortable. The neighbours and locals were all very friendly. We enjoyed some lovely walks the area is beautiful. Would definitely go back

We were pleasantly pleased with the look of the house on arrival.

It’s a quaint stone terraced house, very well appointed and decorated, it has everything you could need for your stay. We enjoyed the contents of the welcome basket left by the owners, a very nice touch, even our dog was catered for! It has a pretty enclosed garden, with lots of seating which backs onto fields. There’s one handy parking space directly outside the house. Locally in the village there’s a shop, chip shop and pubs. It’s ideally situated for Haworth and Hebden bridge and Skipton, which are great places to visit. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying here again.

This charming cottage is beautifully decorated and has a cosy comfortable feel. Lovely welcome basket on arrival, thanks for this. The owners were very attentive and kept in touch during the week making sure we had everything we needed. The garden was perfect for our little dog and the neighbours were very friendly, in fact all the locals were. We enjoyed sitting on the comfy new garden furniture, taking advantage of the lovely weather we had and the beautiful view. The location was perfect for experiencing Bronte country with walks directly from the doorstep or only ten-minute drive away. The walk to Haworth along the river was lovely. We used the Bronte bus to go to Hebden Bridge for an afternoon and enjoyed a drink or too. Great local pub round the corner, the owners were helpful recommending places to eat. Maybe it would be helpful to have some information on where to put recycling and general waist. In all a wonderful holiday, thank you Geraldine and Andy :)

My partner and I recently stayed at Penistone View with our doggy and we had a wonderful time!

The property had all the amenities needed for a more than comfortable stay and a very thoughtful welcome basket was waiting for us on arrival! May I just say, the lemon cake (that is homemade by the hosts) was absolutely divine. A disposable BBQ was provided and we made the most of this in the beautiful back garden whilst sitting and admiring the view from the comfy garden furniture. The neighbours were extremely friendly too and offered advice as to where to go for the best walks! A truly relaxing stay. We will be back - especially for another lemon cake! :-)

The cottage is quaint and beautiful with plenty of quirky details such as the stone feature walls throughout.

The garden is wonderful with plenty of seating options and a fantastic view. The beds are very comfortable and we all had good night sleeps. We all enjoyed a deep bath and liked the taps! Geraldine and Andy were gracious hosts - they contacted us before our stay to ensure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, even supplying a requested fan. There was a welcome basket to greet us which was very much appreciated and enjoyed. The village is rural but does have a pub, fish and chop shop and coop within walking distance. And the railway station — only a few minutes drive from the cottage - has a little railway museum in addition to a tearoom on the platform. We enjoyed the diesel and steam train journeys and would recommend getting a roving ticket and exploring each stop. (Howarth is stunning and at the top of the High Street is the Brontë Parsonage). We were amazed by how close the main sight seeing places were to the cottage. We will definitely be returning here and will highly recommend this cottage to our friends and family. This home away from home is ideal for anyone wanting to stay a few nights in Oxenhope or West Yorkshire.

My son, daughter and daughter's partner had a lovely, relaxing weekend in the cottage. The owners, Geraldine and Andy, left a delicious lemon drizzle cake, along with eggs and milk.

This is a clean and comfortable cottage with a beautiful garden and lovely views in a friendly village with a pub and a small supermarket.

Lovely back garden with a wonderful view. Would recommend the steam train between Oxenhope and Keighley, far less commercial than the Pickering line. And if you like walking or hiking then eat your heart out.
