  • "It was clean to a very high standard, the views from the cottage was excellent, a good place to stay for exploring the Bronte sisters and Railway children, only a 4 mile hike to the Bronte waterfalls and Top Withins ( Wuthering Heights), thank you very much!"

  • "Everything as described and in good working order."

Key safe entry worked perfectly even had a little video from the owner to make sure the process was clear. Just remember it is Yorkshire, the access road is narrow and the hills are steep. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

  • "Great place to stay."

The view, comfortable beds, complete kitchen washing machine, in the center of all the places we visited, Lots of opportunities for photos on the way. My wife found using the toilet upstairs a bit of a challenge as she has walking sticks.

  • "Very pleasant stay at Bronte Barn, however the plug arrangement in the shower room sink requires attention as it does not appear to function correctly when using the open/close lever."

Radiator heating times are pre-programmed to come on Morning & Evening, consequently if weather is cold and you are staying in during the day there is no heating availability. These points are not a complaint just food for thought, as overall we had a very pleasant stay in the barn.

Dear Guest, many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay. Apologies this response is late. Thank you for your positive comments about the cottage, we have tried to make it as welcoming as we can. There are a few more things on the 'to do list' for the quieter months. Property Owner

  • "I had a lovely stay in the barn, made all the better by the beautiful weather."

Comfortable outdoor seating would have been the icing on the cake to enjoy the beautiful view. The area is incredibly hilly so be prepared for a steep road to Haworth.

Many thanks for your feedback about your stay and are pleased that, on the whole, your break was enjoyable. Unfortunately, we had to remove the lightweight outside furniture as it did cause some problems in the high winds. We were unable to purchase any storage facility, on the farm , to keep it. We will be providing some sturdier furniture which will be fixed down. We have asked Sykes to update the property description to take account of your comments concerning the terrain. Property Owner

  • "Our family (3 adults) had a lovely 4 nights at Bronte Barn, everything we needed was there, & initial access via a keysafe was well described by the owner."

It was super to sit & look out at the panoramic view over breakfast! The peace, quiet & abundant bird life in the area including goldfinches, a jay, buzzards and barn owls was very special. We found plenty to do, probably rated best was a day rover ticket on the Worth Valley Heritage railway! Other visits in the area included the 17th century Eggleston Manor House at Keighley which was excellent & Haworth and the Bronte Parsonage.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide some feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed the cottage and the local area. We don't get to spend time at many of the local attractions so thank you for providing details of the ones you enjoyed. Property Owner

About the location

OAKWORTH

Haworth 1 mile; Skipton 10 miles.

Oakworth is a small Pennine village just a short drive from Haworth, overlooking the Worth Valley, made famous by the filming of the classic 1970 film version of E.E. Nesbitt's novel, The Railway Children. Besides its close proximity to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth has an attractive ornamental park, and is within easy reach of the town of Keighley. Nearby Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were much-inspired by the surrounding moorland. Haworth has a myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, and all this against a backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights. Nearby, the famous Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, makes a lovely day out, with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area is full of popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail. The market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate, and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
