The cottage

Nestled on the outskirts of the pretty town of Middleham, is this superb stone cottage, which is set in a quiet setting.

Kelda Garthr, translating as tranquil garden has been renovated into a contemporary holiday home for friends and families alike, boasting brightly-decorated rooms and high-quality furnishings.

The sitting room offers a delightful space to relax and unwind of an evening, with the open fire to keep you warm during those chilly winter months.

Curl up on one of the two leather sofas and catch up on your favourite shows, or use the provided Xbox and the selection of games for a fun-filled family game night.

Step through to the kitchen, which boasts a lovely breakfast bar for enjoying home-cooked meals.

The kitchen has a range of appliances on-hand to cook up a storm for the whole family.

Use the conservatory as a quiet space for catching up on some reading, with the country views over Wensleydale as your backdrop.

A cloakroom with a basin and WC completes the ground floor.

Upstairs, you will find three well-presented bedrooms: one double, one twin and one single, with a range of furniture to store your personal items.

The family bathroom houses an elegant bath and a walk-in shower, so you can choose how best to prepare for your day.

The property boasts magnificent views across the surrounding countryside hills, which can be seen from every room of the house, as well as the delightful patio area.

Sit outside with a refreshing beverage of an evening and watch the wonderful sunset.

Off-road parking is available for three cars and bike storage is available.

Middleham is ideally situated for exploring both North Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks, boasting a variety of fabulous tourist attractions.

Middleham itself prides itself on the historic Middleham Castle, which was once the home of Richard III.

Relive its illustrious history inside, with displays dedicated to its retelling, and fantastic views of Wensleydale.

Less than 3 miles away is Inspired Chocolate, a chocolate factory open to the public where you can discover a wide-range of fine handmade Belgian chocolate, truffles and many other treats being prepared right in front of your eyes.

With a workshop dedicated to teaching you how to make some of the finest chocolate around.

There are two sets of golf clubs and two trollies for guests to borrow if they wish to visit any of the nearby golf courses (Akebar, is about 8 miles away).

There is a secure lockable shed for guests to store bicycles if they wish to bring their own.

A fun day out for the whole family!

About the location

Leyburn 2.5 miles; Richmond 12 miles.

The attractive Wensleydale town of Middleham is renowned for its history and race horses. Much of the history is bound up with its Norman castle, which dates from 1190 and has a castle keep second in size only to the Tower of London. The horses are a great sight as they make their way to the gallops every morning. The pretty market square is partially cobbled and offers a range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The bustling market town of Leyburn is just a short drive away offering a variety of great shops and pubs, or why not take some time to explore The Forbidden Corner, a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and surprises set amidst 4 acres of grounds, providing a fun day out for all the family? All in all a superb base for exploring Wensleydale and all within easy driving distance of York, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and Heritage Coast.
